Best of all, the lack of complications should make this one fairly simple to rep Perhaps even in solid 18k 750 gold. Perhaps not everyone's taste, but I dig it. I handled 15 or so Langes today in Hong Kong and love every single one of them, the attention to detail in each of them and the superior craftmanship in every piece, but the price speaks for itself. I handled 15 or so Langes today in Hong Kong and love every single one of them, the attention to detail in each of them and the superior craftmanship in every piece, but the price speaks for itself. Similar experience, once you had a real L&S in your hands, nothing comes even close. Lange & Sohne is probably one of the leading upper upper tier brands. Their movements are just INCREDIBLE. And it is impossible, at least today, to replicate the finish and attention to details these pieces show. I had two in my hands years ago in Zurich and the memory still lingers... Pricing is steep, an 1815 can go for $13-15K and a Langematik for over $17-20K. Lange & Sohne and a couple of Patek Phillipes. The moonphase is fake, but the watches are fun to wear- gold plated with nice leather bands. The chinese movements keep good time and they make nice dress watches. I also like the PP Calatrava, it makes a nice statement as an understated dress watch. I consider it a very nice fantasy watch (*not a popular brand like Rolex) and I use it often. Is it a great replica watch? yes. Would I buy another Lange replica? no. I considered (and wrote it off) as part of my learning curve on replicas. You are right, leave the finish to the germans...maybe one day there would be a german replica maker...though I doubt it because I picture a german jail like a very cold and damp place with a big guy named Otto who would make you his frau every other night... Closed backs do exist for these models as far as I know, they can be custom made with some artistic designs, but they cost as much as the watch itself. Of course, archibald and Alextor repeats my point, that a Lange rep will NEVER hold a candle to the genuine no matter what you do to it.
