JokerCat Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Correct me if I am wrong but the newman series used straight pusher's through it's production run, right?. Not that it bothers me as I think it is quite fashionable and a turn from the ordinary.
freddy333 Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Oyster on dial = screw-type pushers No Oyster on dial = push-button pushers Newman dials originally appeared with the 6239, but were fitted to both Oyster & non-Oyster models This is 1 of the few rules that I have never seen the Rolex factory break.
JokerCat Posted February 6, 2009 Author Report Posted February 6, 2009 Very interesting. Did rolex produce that white/black color pattern? I do not see too many members with fully built vj72 daytonas with that dial. Just suspicous J/C
flex Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Jockercat,Yes they have. indeed what you got there is the most accurate & affordable aftermarket PN dial in my opinion.. some pics of the gen gen
coolfire Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 I absolutely agree with freddy... I was lucky to obtain much advice from him when procuring my DW. :notworthy:
JokerCat Posted February 9, 2009 Author Report Posted February 9, 2009 Thanks guys. Which original part would make the most difference if I only chose one? tub, crown T21 crystal, gen band, black bezel, hands. D. wong has these original parts but I don't know if I want to drop that much cash yet. what do you experts think about it? BTW, Do you think this model is aesthetically pleasing.
freddy333 Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 A gen 19mm folded link (7835, which is what I always use on my vintage Daytonas) or solid link (78350) bracelet would be my next move.
slickdick Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 I'd suggest to also do the crown. DW's is rather big.
