Spidey7 Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 So I just bought a nice (to me) Seamaster "Bond" model and the first day I got it the pearl fell out of the bezel. I looked ALL OVER for it but of course I couldn't find it. THEN I tried to fill the little "cup" in with Elmer's glue, glow in the dark paint, epoxy, ANYTHING! But it all fell right back out again. I don't really care if it glows or not. I just don't want to see that hollow little eye socket staring up at me every time I look at it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fill this in and keep the material in there? Or maybe glue in a new pearl? I really didn't spend much for the watch (good deal, second hand) so I don't want to fix the pearl at a price that is more than the watch cost me. Ideas?..........Anyone?..............Bueller?
fakemaster Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 Save yourself some grief and just buy a new insert.
RobbieG Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 Yeah and if you are ordering something else from your favorite dealer you can maybe have him send one with the other order.
TeeJay Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 I've got to agree with FM... If you buy a new watch just to get an insert thrown in, the SMP might get reduced wrist time due to the new watch... Far better to get the new insert and simply install it
Toadtorrent Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 You should be able to get a gen insert from Ofrei...but expensive likely because I think you have to buy a whole bezel assembly. You can get aftermarket ones that are about the same grade of quality (from what I gather from the catalogue photos...not in person) from Somal (big parts suppliers). Try Somal Canada...not sure if there is one in the US.
