Should Burgeon screwdriver tips be magnetized?

Recommended Posts

got the Bergeon 5970 Nine Piece Screwdriver Set with Rotating Stand from ofrei.

on removing the screw off the rotor, the screw stuck onto the screwdriver tip.

it doesn't stick on the tweezers so it should be the screwdriver tip that is magnetic.

do i need to get a demagitizer now? <_<

thanks,

R

Don't bother with the magnet style demagnitisers, where you pass the screwdriver or other item through a hole.

They just don't have sufficient power to do the job well.

I use an Etic demag, which I got almost brand new from ebay for A$40.

It has, like all the other Etic tools I have acquired, proven to be a true workhorse.

There are many different demags available, and you can even build your own.

As long as they are mains powered, and reliable, you can't go too far wrong.

Here are the Etic and an Indian one, avail @ PMWF

They are also handy for freeing up the drive train on quartz watches.
