Sherrington Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 Well By-tor I did promise you some photos of my modded 1680. While I was at it I decided to photograph some of my other modded Rolex's. Hope you like them. I have also posted the gen photo's I tried to duplicate as closely as I could. Gen 1680 Another Gen 1680 with white dial. I just liked the Cg's on this one better than the previous image. My MBW 1680 with modded CG's, Gen pearl & insert, Gen springbars, Gen Tropic, Gen crown & tube, better datewheel and a Homer rivetted bracelet. Another of my 1680 Yet another Gen 1665 white dial My MBW 1665 with modded CG's, Gen Bezel Pearl & insert, Gen Springbars, Gen Tropic 39 superdome, Gen crown and tube & 93150 hollow mid link bracelet. Gen 5517 My Homer 5517 with Gen pearl, MBW tropic, Mk2 hands, Gen crown & tube, reworked case & CG's & a Gen NATO strap Another of my 5517 And last but not least my Homer LV which was the first modding attempt I made. I only did the CG's on this and tightened the bezel. I don't give this much wrist time as I love my vintages so I may sell this in future. As I said previously I did as good as I could on these and am not saying they are perfect but they are good enough for me. Hope you enjoy them. Oh and BTW all the photos were done after following Pugwash's excellent tutorial he has recently done and edited using Picasa 2. Thanks for the info Pug.
chrgod Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 Wow, I am quite impressed! These pictures are very good references for people who will attempt their own CG modding... Hm hmm... let me see... where did I put that old Silix Sub...
halley Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 Awesome work!! the 5517 on Nato is really bondesque! impressive
By-Tor Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 I totally agree. Best cg work I have ever seen. Ditto what Repaustria said. You should start offering your services to others, since the rep factories will never get the cg's right. Excellent, excellent work!!!

If you could have seen the state I was in after doing all the CG work then you would understand why I don't offer it as a service!!!
ehtolcad Posted August 3, 2006 Report Posted August 3, 2006 what if someone asked really really nicely?
mikellem Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Sherrington, I totally agree with BT also... Your crown guard work is spectacular.. Great work and beautiful watches.. Enjoy these beauties and wear them well. These CG's are the best I have ever seen!
Sherrington Posted August 4, 2006 Author Report Posted August 4, 2006 what if someone asked really really nicely? I would have to say no, really really nicely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cskent69 Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Ok - dumb question - what is a Homer? What does that mean?
By-Tor Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Ok - dumb question - what is a Homer? What does that mean? Homer was a UK-based dealer. I'm afraid he's out of business now. He was selling the same watches as other dealers though.
Alextor Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Homer was a UK-based dealer. I'm afraid he's out of business now. He was selling the same watches as other dealers though. Actually he is not out of business...www.mulberryoutlet.co.uk He's UK based like PT...but I've never ordered from him... this is as far as my knowledge goes... @Sherrington...u are in my best of RWG list! incredible work...you sure you never worked for Rolex?
