JoeyDee
Hey Folks. Im caught up - and I need some help plz Here's the scoop, I dont have the money to buy a real IWC watch hopefully one day Alright can you guys please listen + a pic of your the best; 1. Everyday wear 2. Occasional wear The reason I am asking this is because, well - I want to wear a watch every day and want to avoid buying a cheap rep that the gold plated finish will fade, or the wristband will rip and so on... im just getting bored of wearing this all the time
Watchmeister
Here are a few: GST Chrono (ti) - 40mm. Very elegant and small on the wrist. Good every day wear but you have to like ti. 2006 Cousteau - 44mm. Bigger both in terms of diameter and depth - more weekend wear as it has rubber strap. Classic Ingenieur - 42mm. IMHO, very elegant but a little boring. Looks great with a suit though. The other two you might consider are the classic Pilot 3717 and the Slevin. Pilot looks great on leather and croc straps. Slevin stays on a bracelet. My 2 cents.
cskent69
I would go with 2006 Cousteau - or the Slevin. Depends on the size of your wrist. The Slevin is the easier one to come by that does not require alot of mods.
FxrAndy
I think any IWC would do the trick but an INGY, slevin or 3717 would be perfect and you would never get called out on them!
Guest asim
don't forget the 3717!!
Watchmeister
The 3717 is a great one as well. That is probably the IWC I wear most often for work. Couldn't find any pics though. If you do that one you have to invest in either a good croc or two button BP'esque strap though as Asim did above.
dluddy
All of the above are great suggestions. First you have to decide Chronograph or no Chronograph. That will help you narrow it down. A new one I just got which is getting a lot of everyday wrist time is the 3536 GST Aquatimer (Non-Chrono)
JoeyDee
2006 Cousteau - 44mm. Bigger both in terms of diameter and depth - more weekend wear as it has rubber strap. Yes sir! That's the one, I was thinking of getting the Cousteau or the Portuguese! So, let's say I get a rep of the Costeau or the Portuguese, should I modify it like most people on this form do? The rubber band on the costeau is good quality?
sadh40
I usually prefer my IWC Grand Complication rep for day to day wear as it turns a lot of eyes.

siesta181
Everyday wear... IWC Slevin, Occasional Wear... BP 5004, thats why i don't have it yet. Still trying to convince myself to get it for weekend wear.
Logan
I find the Cousteau rubber strap a little stiff to be really comfortable for everyday wear. Part of that is probably wrist size.

Zackb911
3717 V3! I wear mine on the bracelet and sometimes a 22mm handmade pilot strap. Slevin is also a nice choice.
vlydog
I just love the look of the 3717 pictured here with Gen Kevlar:
