TmeShare Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 Is there a Planet Ocean rubber strap for the XL 45mm model that does not collect dust? I have bought 2 from different sellers and they both attract every dust particle within a 2 mile radius.....most frustrating!! TimeShare
jdkno Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 I got one from Josh and it does not attract dust.
DemonSlayer Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 You need to get the UPO rubber strap (ultimate), sells for $68 from J&A, other dealers probably charge a little less. Excellent strap I must say.
OmegaPOFL Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 watcheden sells the UPO strap too.. for 68$ and there is a 20$ coupon! so 48$ shipped
DemonSlayer Posted May 21, 2009 Report Posted May 21, 2009 Well there you go.. hard to beat that great deal. Get one TmeShare, you won't regret it.
rek001 Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Apply some Armorall rubber preservative to it, gives it a nice smooth coating, dust will not stick.
MasterOfPuppets Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 $68 for a replica rubber strap is way too expensive imo...
kbh Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 $68 for a replica rubber strap is way too expensive imo... I used to own a company that manufactured rubber auto parts. My guess is that after the mold is made for a a couple of grand, the cost of a strap is less than a quarter. Add another quarter for the buckle probably. $68 is highway robbery. Narikka was selling the 42mm shipped for less than $30 delivered and it's an excellent quality strap that doesn't collect dust. Why should a 45mm one be so much more?6
DemonSlayer Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Damn, that is crazy! Less than a quarter.. Well it was J&A who started selling them at this price and still do today, but then again, some are of the opinion its the factories who sets the price
OmegaPOFL Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 wait, i've just read that the watcheden coupon is only good if you spend over 100$....
gargoil Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 Yeah I put the watcheden code in and it came up saying it doesnt apply for items already on special for 22m rubber Omega strap!
nnomad Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 I had my UPO ordered from PT with a rubber strap, and i can tell you (since i did compared it to a GEN strap) that i was absolutly unable to tell which one was real and which one was not (buckle included) ... that is also true for the dust repeller properties ... it stays absolutly imaculate! i have no idea how much it costs, but you can allways email him..he is a great guy and very helpfull A.
MiniNova Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 So 300 dlls for the original is a mega robbery or can I say Omega robbery, I ordered a black rubber for the UPO and a leather one from puretime, 50 bucks each, oh well at least I got the watch and both the strap all in one $15 shipment. I'll post some good picks when I get them.
chazglenn3 Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 Hmmm...I sold my Breitling Skyland on a rubber strap to fund my UPO purchase. I did like the rubber strap on that watch. Maybe I'll get a nice rubber strap for my UPO.
nakortheblue Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 i bought a pre-owned gen rubber from someone on tz. i doesn't actually look different but somehow it feels different on the wrist. also the non-floating keeper on the rep strap doesn't stay in one place vs the gen strap which makes the rep strap a pain to take off and put on.
docdoc Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 got mine from puretime. Just fine, never had any dust
