Hi,

Can someone point me in the direction of posts showing how to remove case backs from Rolex, Omega watches WITHOUT using specialist tools?

If this has not been posted before, please can someone describe how to remove Rolex, Omega case backs using common household DIY tools.

Thanks for your input

Couple of methods that have been suggested before:

1) Roll a piece of duct tape, sticky side out and stick to the back of the case. Use said duct tape to twist off caseback.

2) Use dishwashing gloves to grip and twist the caseback off.

Both are known to work, though in some cases, you may need something that provides a little more leverage to get those particularly tight casebacks off. Personally, I just use the tools designed to work with those casebacks. Rolex is a specialized wrench/die set up and Omega should require the Jaxa style tool.

If it's a screw on caseback, I've never met one that I couldn't open with just some plain duct tape. Just cut a strip and smooth it over the caseback, make sure you get a nice flat seal. Then just grab each end as near to the case as possible and twist.
