I went twice in the day, the second time there were lower quality reps around. I went at 2pm and at about 6pm. I saw a silver/black FA Jones with decorated see through back. The store owner offered it for 120$, but I am sure you could bargain it down to below $100. I actually went back 3 hours later to try and haggle but the shop had closed. I think this watch was the same as what our dealers are offering. I wound the movement and if wound nicely. It was not a screw down crown. The notable reps I saw were a Poljot 1950, 7750 PO reps, Swiss ETA Black Seal w/wrong bridges, a 192, and a 196 w/asian 7750 movement. The black seal was a great solid watch that felt very good and the movement was nice and polished. I also really liked the 196, I was playing with the chrono and it worked great. The 192's case and band seemed to be of much lower quality than my EL 192. He said he had a bunch of Rolex reps, but I didnt look. I dont really like Rolex other than the Daytona PN. If you can make it there, youl make it anywhere New York City, NY USA Canal street is an outdoor market area in china town. Many good reps to be found --- of bags anyway. 226a canal, is my favorite bag place bags average around 30-40 bucks. Nice quality. I found plenty of decent reps on canal...but the dealers that had them thought they were royalty or something. A decent ETA PAM rep 9recessed canon pin of course) for $350 (marina militaire or something). ETA Sub reps for $200...but nothing special, just your basic CN eta sub. Funny, they guys with the good reps acted like they were above the whole market. "how much for this one?" - "Too much for you my friend. For you a cheap watch. These wathes are identical to real. You want to pay $400?" The Asians had lower end watches. Most of hte guys with the better reps were Indian. I did find an excellet Vacheron rose gold rep, with decorated movement, good plating and a fantastic dial. It is the same one Josh sells for like $130 or so. I managed to get it for $55, but the Asian lady I got it from was cursing me as I walked away. She said she couldn't go lower than $85. I guess her cost was a lot lower! Unfortunatly, getting Rolex from anyone down there is tough these days, cause they're paranoid about getting arrested and having their merch siezed, which i dont blame them, but it would be nice to be able to get a decent one from around the corner from me. any of you nyc members got any good leads for rolex here in the city? [/quote It is interesting.. as is the case will all goods especially handbags, it helps to speak the language. My experience with China Town is.. 1. the best reps (of anything) are not on canal street, they are on the side streets Mott is a good example. 2. the merchants generally carry two grades of goods.. for the pedistrian tourists, they offer lower grade goods, but if you speak the language you can get access to the higher grade bounty which is normally hidden from public view (they even have hidden rooms with hidden doors behind the shelving) The only reason I know is my Girl Friend is Chinese American and speaks Mandarin. If I am with her, we sometimes have a hard time getting access to the good stuff.. they mistake me for police.. but if she is alone, or with another woman, she has no problem at all. I do not think the rep watches are as good as the higher end reps available from our dealers, but they do have some with automatic movements.. at reasonable prices. 2005SUBMARINER Posted August 15, 2006 Report Share Posted August 15, 2006 for people looking to score rolex reps in canal st , 1st you wont find them any more on the racks due to the r@lex police cruiseing canal st .. the dealers down in canal st are now mobile , they carry a huge tot bag filled with cheap rolex reps , they communicate with other dealers thru nextell 2 way radio & they walk up & down canal st wispering to tourist ( rolex rolex ) & zoom by you , they dont even show you there inventory .. but keep away from canal st rolex reps they suck ! there omegas are much better .. good luck .
