  2. It's a fantasy version but you could call it a personal bespoke design similar to the project x stuff or this Titan black http://www.titanblack.co.uk/collection/panerai It's funny but it seems we rep folks don't really like to talk about the shiny pvd black look because the only luxury brand to do it is Chanel with their J12 ceramics and those are birds watches. But there appears , and particularly for Rolex to be places that customise that look. I've not actually seen one of these before and quite like the black bezel and whit numbers. I've seen them on a Rolex explorer 2 and think its quite a good look. The dial is odd here because its really from a 025 as that was the flat matt dial where the 029 is the tuxedo'd fluted lined version. But the 25 was an early version A series and this is L Swiss Made L it also has the roller ball cg. The Cyclopse and thin date wheel would niggle me a bit but its actually an alright watch and if you like then wear it proudly and if anyone asks say its a custom build.

  3. Hey very cool stuff! My advice for starting with movements: grab a good camera (or anything with good macro abilities) and take a photo from above and same anlge of each step when you disassemble a movement. E.g. dial side complete, then remove parts from the keyless, stop take a picture and take a pic of the parts you just removed and move on. That's how I started, I have a few folders of different movement, each with about 30 photos of the disassembly. When I've put the movement together that came in handy. And no, automatic movements are not too difficult, my very first movement I worked on was a ETA 2671, thats a lady size movement, about half of the size of a ordinary 2824. And yes, it works ATM I'm onto chronographs, thats more difficult!

  4. Oha! You are right, well done! But I help you a little bit: When you open the internet browser of your choice and click on rwg.cc, you come to this page: now you have to grab the scroll bar to the right and pull it down or if you're a dude, you have mouse with a funny little scroll wheel in the middle, so let's scroll down together like this: you've found the "Trusted dealer" section, good job mate! but you have to go down a little bit further: wohoo, who's this "Trusty time" ? Let's be so brave and click on it: now you can see everything that belongs to his stuff, but wait, what happens if I click on "Reviews - Trusty time" ? oha, people post their opinions about him, let's find out... BUT let me introduce you to a very crazy but useful function of this site (it is quite unique ) if you decide to visit the main page again (happens from time to time), click into that promissing field: there you can type in something funny, interesting or things you want to learn about, like for a very random example "who has the best sub": OR you press on that funky gear thingy button: then you will be directed to a hidden site solely there for spending hours of searching rwg! You can even specify what you're looking for, where, the author. COOL rkq and many others out there, I hope you'll find this post very usefull and save it to you favourites! For all others, hope you enjoyed it, just because TGIF!

  5. (Non-snarky ) It has 33 bids, most of the bids by one bidder who seems determined to buy it at any price. Either he knows something no else else does, ~Or~ he has too much money and not enough knowledge about watch parts. As cc33 said, the price is too high for a 1675 insert regardless it's condition. Might be someone from the far East where overpaying for luxury items is done regularly to impress others. (Snarky ) If you must ask, well then, you obviously can't afford it...( )

  8. Gorgeous set-up. I use the stealth storage approach. If you store them in enough different places and in different boxes it is possible your wife does not figure out the magnitude of your collection.
