Hi guys, I got myself one of my favourite watches, Hublot Big Bang Steel on the Gummy strap. It's a V6 with A7750 movement. Over to the pictures: Hope you enjoy! Cheers, Martijn1 point

Good luck trying to resist. The addiction associated with this hobby is second only to tobacco and heroin. But welcome to RWG anyway.1 point

Your willingness to admit that is admirable. Huge difference in being an ass and regard others as inferior; then to be an ass and actually recognize it with humility. Kudos to you Sir.1 point

A TV and mountain bike are often manufactured by multi-billion-dollar corporates with a clear statement of quality, service and return policy. Also you get them from a licensed seller nearby with a full-time service in case something goes wrong. That's not the same then buying from a criminal dealing with illegal goods, which were obtained in a sweatshop miles away from your own location. Relying on reputation in this trade is for naive people. Just because those dealers don't scam you doesn't mean they aren't trying to slip in a few lemons from time to time.1 point

Hey all! I wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I've been perusing the site for some time now, totally digging Franken-just builds and all the info some of the members have supplied. Thanks to all who contribute, you have given me a world of info in a short amount of time. I've already taken the plunge and purchased a few items on eBay like gen cases and dials at super cheap prices cause I am in no rush and love getting sweet deals. I've also picked up the necessities like movement clamps, rings, hands, and of course some tools. So today I was out yard saling and I hit the mother load! I picked up three Swiss 25 jewel movements all in nice working condition and then, the very next yard sale, I snagged two Rolex sub replicas. One was quartz but the other had 22 jewels. Not the best copies but I was so excited to find some replics. After I came home I decided today would be the day I introduce myself and share my lucky finds, they are out there! I do not profess to know much about watches, I am a total noob, but I will definitely post some future build pics and I hope to be able to contribute to the forum and pass along where I found some great posts that will help future members, so they can get inspired and enjoy their projects as much as I am right now! Thanks for letting me ramble and its nice to be aboard. Enjoy the photos!1 point

Personally, if a trusted dealer ever took action for against me for posting QC pics, I would just buy the genuine watch, scan the receipt and email it back to them with a little note saying "this business could have been yours."1 point

This one was a favorite of mine until I sold it. Franken because of its construction. More of a 16800 hybrid really. Gen crown and tube Gen insert/pearl TC bracelet, Dial and hands as well as the V2 DWO Gen 2836-2 ST3035 case and bezel, with gen spring bars, etc... Now, this 16610 is a true franken in every way Gen dial Gen SL hands Gen dimpled crown and gen tube Gen insert and SL pearl Now gen no LEC crystal Gen spring bars Y3135 serviced movement Gen 93150 clasp with very, very accurate flat 3 93150 bracelet(still searching for the elusive 501B end links) I modified a pair of WSO 501 end links. Took a few hours to get them to look and fit right. Still, POS and the customer service sucks. But it is what I have for now ST 3135 case and bezel assembly. The case has been softened since the pic was taken and repolished after a nice salt water dive sessions to give it that worn everyday look. Of the two, the 16800 felt better, but such is life. Haha a Paris Hilton perhaps? I just sat next to a gentlemen on the plane who had a SS Daytona. We had some great watch conversation. Even the good ol' SS Daytona is a pretty blingy (without being in your face) watch. Can't imagine how rose gold would handle in person. My franken TC LV watch was also "inspected" and received many compliments. Lol true compliment to TC and the quality of his work.1 point

My interest in Rolex comes and goes. Right now it's at a down trend, so I only have these two as far as Subs go. COMEX 5514 non-logo: -Genuine Rolex 1520, serviced and overhauled by The Zigmeister. -Genuine Rolex 5513 dial; original and untouched. -Genuine Rolex 5513 Submariner Lumi hands, relumed in a vintage tone by The Zigmeister. -Genuine 25-19 crystal. -Genuine fat font tritium insert. -Genuine bezel. -Genuine 703 crown (waiting to be installed). -Genuine 7030 tube (waiting to be installed). -Phong case -Genuine 2mm rolex springbars. 16610LV Put this one together as a casual activities piece; unfortunately, 1940's era Patek are not waterproof, so I needed something that could survive some fun with the kids. The PP serves office duty and the LV serves Summer beater. The 5514 above also gets it's fair share of under water duty, but the more resilient sapphire crystal works better as a beater. -TC case -Genuine 16610 ‘Maxi’ dial -Genuine 16610 ‘Maxi’ hands -Genuine 16610LV insert -Genuine Rolex caliber 3135 -Genuine 704 crown/tube -Genuine 295C (older style w/o laser etch @ 6:00) -Exhibition caseback1 point

The Mods can not enforce the will of the dealers. Use your head domain seizure, anyone? This message board is for people who collect replica watches as a hobby. It is *not* a tool Dealers use to sell counterfeit watches. Asking Mods to weigh in on enforcing Dealer requests is clueless and dangerous.1 point

I have never posted QC pics before, the flaws I am looking for are physical damage or obvious imperfections. I just ok'd a Planet Ocean with crooked 12 o'clock marker after requesting a new watch because of a scratch on the bezel, pick your battles and decide what you can live with in your replicas. The real flaws are with functionality and those don't come through in pics. I'm thinking about starting to request QC videos1 point

Referring to my 1680? Haha, it seems to be waterproofed again. What happened was the crown wasn't down all the way the first time I think, then when I dried it out the o-ring on the caseback wasn't seated correctly. Now things appear ok!1 point

I don't get it? You're a submissive who doesn't take any [censored]? It's OK. I know your a straight-shootin'-tough guy and I'll keep my distance. Have fun here - a great bunch of guys with a sense of humor, though I suppose we should get to know you before we give you any [censored]. I'll concede that.1 point
