  3. Hello, I felt like building something different, something I never built before and it also had to be rare. I think this might be it, all business in the front and since it's a no-seconds movement I didn't bother with a high beat cosc-movement. This time lightbox photos first, build photos later. • Build pics:

  4. Mymanmatt is A++. He is a very nice man and is willing to build you a nice DJ or DD. I got a DD off him and he did a lot of testing on the movement for me before he was satisfied to send it out. Now I have it and it is my dress watch. Will definitely be contacting Matt again in the near future. To the OP, your DJ looks awesome!!

  5. "I love those water proof " do not take near water" watches" Me too. Much of the time '200 METERS' really means 200 meters horizontally from the boat dock, on dry land or in a boat, not vertically in the water.

  8. Could not have been said better. I have just joined this community and the rep game and I am becoming more and more fascinated with the engineering behind making watches, both rep and gen. I have friends who own multiple gens and are not true watch lovers, they love the status symbol but have no idea about the history or functionality behind the tens of thousands of dollars on their wrists. I joined the forum looking for the best sub, like half the people here, and within the past few weeks I've become intrigued with types of factories, types of movements, choices of materials, or if I should source a gen LV bezel for my soon to be ordered TC sub, or will a clark insert do me fine? I really became in love with watches, its like i stepped into a new world and watches are no longer just tools but pieces of art and expression

  10. A lot of the minutia that we go into on the boards is sure to stick in your mind mate, at the end of the day truly it's what 'you' feel comfy wearing I started off with a cheapie, then mid range now I have TC with a Gen insert, minutia got the better of me, but I'm OCD at the best of times never mind with a watch Like the guys have already said Asian movements are great these days and the swiss we get are far from the best, to me any watch I buy inc Rolex reps have to look good aesthetically too though. Choose how much you want to spend then start researching your options in that price range, if your not comfy spending $700+ on a rep atm then quite simply don't See the Super Rep thread in my signature for some ideas too....................

  12. Your DJ is beautiful. Got to give it to the old guy, he really, really knows his way around Rolex watches! And I can call him and old guy, because we are both old guys! He has built several really nice watches for me as well as sorting out some problems with a few others as well. Hats off to Matt.
