  1. Since I started the fascination with Swiss watches a decade ago, I have owned a few, but never a Constellation. I would try on the blue and the silver SS models, and I never really felt a connection. I do like exhibition backs and when I saw the 38mm chronometer I became a fan, but didn't act on purchasing one. A couple of months ago I decided I wanted one, and was told they no longer had the Stellita movement, as the prices sky-rocketed! I tried a few TDs and only Trusty said he could still get one. I went ahead... the first QC pics showed a 35mm that was not at all the same watch... fortunately I noticed the issues and was told to wait for new ones. When the new ones came through... I was impressed. It was the correct one! What do I like about it? AR on both sides--invisible crystal sometimes beautiful special sunburst pattern, originating at the applique star above the 6 marker very well detailed and beautifully finished hands (brushed center, sharp edges, bevelled seconds hand) and dial and markers 1:1 case shape and bracelet finishing a very beautifully finished brand new Swiss Stellita SW-200-1 a decorated movement spacer ring very accurate and precise excellent finishing... amazing when compared to gen... amazing very high quality overall... This is the Stellita SW-200-1. This is the decoration and quality.... did they have to go this far? no. But they did. So it dawned on me. This is a beautiful and well-crafted watch, rep or not. It shows that some makers choose to excel with quality. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery--and that's exactly what this is. They could've cut so many corners... but they didn't. I wish all my reps were THIS good and THIS honest lol.

  2. Hi, so before Mike00 writes it; YES, I played with the buttons! I visited the local IWC dealer who showed be some models (see below)! I tried them on and on the chronograph one I started and stopped the chrono several times. And what happend... I pressed the start/stop button @2... no reaction, I pressed harder and then I heard a very slight "ping" noise?! After that it then only reset at 1 min before 12... and did not run anymore. And the dealer said... "hmmm, guess I have to send it back"! Lucky me, it was a cheap one anyay; only 21.000 Euros! Suddenly I had the urge to say, happens with reps as well, but then thought, better not say that! Dutchy P.S. Pics before I broke it! Maybe it broke as the date was changing!?

  3. Hell, I can often be found wearing a pair of Checkered Van's (shoes), jeans and a T-Shirt sporting any number of high end watches. Including my GEN Rolex's. (In my 40's now, but I still wear Van's since I was 13!!!) Personal Style Statement - My wife loves it.

  4. I do not agree.. Less glossy is still 180 degrees from matte Just look at laptop screens.. There are matte and glossy... Ok? Totally different. Now this. Would you call the screen of an iphone 5 more matte or glossy? I think you would say glossy. Right but did you know that the screen of an iphone 5 is almost 30% less reflective than its predecessors ? But we still wouldn't say a matte iphone 5 screen is more gen like than an glossy or do we? Or would you replace the broken screen with a matte one? And I think this dial maybe around the same.. Maybe 30% less glossy or so.. I really wouldn't know the exact numbers. But he it's just my opinion

  5. It's funny how these bikes have their own personalities......each drive different......look what I ended with just this year alone: Just started riding after 30 years of proscratinating.....and I guess just being scared! Had a bad crash in the mid-80's! Now into it big time!

  6. Should not rust. I have taken several TC bracelets (93160 and 93250 all versions) diving is salt water with no issues. Not even rinsing for hours afterwards. Could just be oxidized dirt. 3m green pad to rebrush if needed. Soak the bracelet in soapy water an let it sit. Then use a gentle nail brush and see what happens.

  7. Geof3 - surely 'first impression' is all about assumptions. You see a guy with a watch. You are unsure whether its a gen or rep. You look for other clues... What area are you in? What is the establishment? What does he look like? What is he wearing? These are all natural signals we look for, mostly unconsciously. If you or I want to validate our assumption, I guess we just ask him. Masmannan
