  2. Hi Guys Am trying to discover if the Swiss ETA watches have better crowns than the Asia ETA movements. Below are my three POcr two 45.5mm and one 42MM as you can see two suffer from bad crowns (both Asia) the other has a great crown (swiss). Here is the issue.. The Swiss version is the PO ti (blue) where as the Asia's are both normal steel watches. So is it the Ti in General have better crowns or is it the movements.. I think it's the movements but others owners please post your crown photos and let us know if it's swiss or Asia This will be really useful for us all as starting to hear about crown tubes stripping (my Asia one stripped after 5 days)

  4. I just got in a new watch yesterday, AP Forged Carbon Diver. Brand new from another great member here who did a C&R. At any rate, I was taking some photos last night, thought you might like to see them. Actually I was trying to do some serious photos, and somehow I hit the wrong button, or combo of buttons, and the camera shifted into "photo effects" mode. I was just merrily snapping away, and didn't realize what happened until I downloaded the photos and looked at them on my computer. I was a little PO'ed at first, because of what I did, I would need to go back and redo the photos. Well, I realized, sometimes we are a little too anal about our watches here, and maybe we need to loosen up some!! It's a cold gloomy Saturday here, and I'm on call as well, so anything to brighten the day !! Here is my new AP Forged Carbon V3

  7. UPDATE: 04/02/2013 I now have a genuine, domed Tropic 21. My FAP 6239 is currently undergoing an extensive overhaul, and I've decided that I would rather see a period-correct, domed crystal on it. After all, I've already got a beveled service crystal on my 6263, so the curved plastic will put some visual distance between the two generations of Daytonas. Unfortunately, I haven't got either a Clark or a Sternkreuz crystal with me, so I couldn't repeat the comparison as above. I did take a couple of quick shots of the gen crystal. This confirms my suspicion that the Sternkreuz T21 was more accurate to the gen. Compare the profiles, and note the point on the circumference at which the dome begins. The base of the Clark crystal's dome is at a higher level than both the gen and the SK.
