Hi gwxsh- the one pictured is the rolsub090a with the very basic 2813 movement, its the 116600 ceramic sub. Quality may vary as written above. The same is available with Asian ETA also, I normally would get one of the ceramics and one of the 16600 series (Seadweller preferred or sub, gmt or Explorer2), one with the 2813 movement, the other with the Asian Eta 2836-2. Than You have tried out both standard movements and compared pricewise and know what is better for You with the next purchase. OK, there You go, pls click on the lower right side if You liked this, thanks.2 points

Just received this watch a few hours ago. Had to post a few pics and first impression thoughts. Now i cant compare this to a gen, so all observations are general. I compare fit/finish against other reps like Pam111 and SOSF v2. Bracelet: Was very "rattely" upon arrival. I soaked it in Rock n Roll lube and washed it off. Now if feels very good. No hard edges. Clasp snaps in as it should. SEL fit and endlinks are just great. Case: It collects fingerprints like an iphone screen! I find myself polishing the case with my shirt all the time. The inside corners on the lugs are razor sharp. Maybe its possible to sand thoose down. Otherwise the case is good, sits great on the wrist. Crystal: AR is good. Better than my Noob 111, but not as good as the SOSF v2. Its raised but i don't think its as doomed as the gen. I think.. Color hands/indexmarkers: We know they are not the same color. But you wont notice this on the wrist. This is a non issue. Dial: Just great. Pure class and good execution. Bezel and pearl: Biggest letdown of the watch. It turns pretty easy, but its a 60 click bezel. Maybe it should be like that, but im so used to 120 click bezels so it feel strange. It also feels "sheap" when you turn it, it has a bit of play and the pearl does not center 12 marker with a click. Its between clicks if you know what i mean. pearl is centered and looks good. I know an updated pearl will be released, i don't see any reason to change this pearl. A non issue for me. Conclusion: I have waited for this watch for over a year. Been following the RG thread daily. I had high expectations. But when my boss bought the gen i told myself that this would be a C&R. But im not so sure anymore. Its a stunning watch with a lot of character. The grey dial and gold hand is just purse sex. Its a small watch, but wears pretty big. This is something ppl notice. The feel of the watch is very good, im starting to really love it. I highly recommend this watch. Go get it Now on to the pics.1 point

Just thought I'd write a few comments about my current rep collection. Was off on holiday this week and wanted to take a watch or two with me. Anticipated being in the pool and the sea so took them down to my local watchsmith. It's a small shop and he said he could only pressure test them to 50 meters, which was good enough for me. Watches that passed: Omega CrPo (from toro) IWC spitfire (toro) Pam 088 (timeshops) Breitling super avenger (timeshops) These passed without anything more than a bit of greasing around the crown needed. Watch guy was really impressed with the build quality and even asked about the forum and dealers I used. Showed me a crappy Rolex rep he'd just bought for £50. Needless to say he felt a bit silly after seeing my collection. A few watches didn't pass but the surprise for me was that the pam092 submersible failed. I thought that, of all of them, this might have passed. Anyhoo, was mightily impressed to have so many watched to choose from. Ended up taking the CrPo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Nah, I just said that if you use them regularly for diving, they get pretty beat up. Couldn't find any blood on them, so they probably weren't eaten by a shark, They just get banged around and rocks and coral are easy to bump when you are swimming in close proximity. Also, when you are getting onto a dive boat when the waves are moving everything around can be challenging to equipment at times. Here are a few of mine, the two Divingstars were purchased from a guy in France, they were both ex French Navy. this was how I received them, both had their Doxa hands replaced by Tudor Snowflake hands, which was probably the hands that the Navy watch repair facility had on hand at the time. they are pretty beat up!! Another Doxa, Sub300T Professional that I bought and dove with for a few years. It's old and not sure about these old seals and gaskets anymore. My primary dive watches now are an Ocean7 Ploprof and a MKII Stingray. Nice thing about most watches, you can bring them back from the dead. Here is one of the Divingstars after jack@IWW worked his magic And my old 300T Professional after Ziggy worked his magic1 point

You will find that smaller trusted dealers often have prices lower than the big boys. In the case, Watch International are like personal shoppers, where they are willing to run out to the watch markets and search for the piece you need.1 point

Hmm, so if someone says a watch has been proven properly waterproof, it's probably had a very hard life being dinged against rocks, stuffed into mud, sand, sharks and finally washed up on shore somewhere with the bitten off remains of the previous owners arm... I think I'll have mine slightly less waterproof and in great condition1 point

Hi gwxhs, the link gets me to the ..90a ceramic sub (it´s the one pictured above) with plusses and minus detailed. As said I think it´s as much watch as You can get for that money, I like it, some purists will have another opinion, specially when looking with a 10x lupe at details on the dial. From above on the wrist it looks perfect, compared to the gen imho the main difference is that it´s about 2mm thicker than the gen which you see in the height difference/space between the case and the turning bezel when looked at in a perfect angle from the sides only (the Tc´s/Bks don´t have this, the bexel sits "flush" which is one of the things which make them so attractive for purists, the case is thinner). But than I like the inner Rolex engraving of the ceramic one, the markings on the case if You take of the bracelet off and a lot of other details it has. Just don´t take it off the wrist as a gen-owner wouldn´t either with a 10´grand watch. Specially the Rolesor bracelet is very good because it´s micro-adjustable without any tools and You may put it larger at night and flusher in the morning etc. For the black one I´m a fan of the single red Pro Hunter Deep Sea, Jacques Piccard edition, it´s a heavy, solid watch and my toughest rep which stands any beating but than I´m biased I´m also getting the 2008 edition IWC Cousteau Divers (blue and yellow) with the Calypso on the back. If You look Andrew also has it for 168/178 or very expensive this one I would really like to have it with an Asian ETA but mine has the 2813 movement. Just make sure You get that special extendable bracelet with it because it´s fantastic and one of the best metal bracelets I know of. For fun it´s got an easy to use divers extension too, but mainly that double-opening clasp as pictured below to micro-adjust - it is fantastic. Disregarding the model You take, just make sure it has this type of bracelet. Enjoy:)1 point

Honestly guys, as I do still have the watch issuing a refund is way easier and a lot less stressful for both me and the buyer. If he's not happy there's all sorts of headaches that could pop up and I don't want anything to happen, I like this place and want to stick around a while so I want to keep my name free from tarnish. I've not mentioned his name for the same reason, he should have kicked the tires and looked under the hood before funding a purchase but he didn't so moving on. He has had a change of heart and is now interested in me sending him the watch, but A refund is the easiest thing for me now. It's the rep game, there are no certainties other than there are no certainties. I'm probably just going to keep the watch and do some serious mods and turn it into a fantasy watch with my team colors and wear during games to show my support.1 point

Thanks very much for your response SSTEEL, here is the link. I will try what you have said and edit with what happens. http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=11340 EDIT: SSTEEL, I thank you for saving me what would most likely of been hours of time spent on something that was so little. I was not applying enough pressure to the crown @ 2 and therefore the hand wasnt working. It is now working perfectly and I will be getting out my Canon and putting a review up in the next couple of hours. Again, thank you so much for your help. Hopefully I will be on here a bit more with some new reps. Take care1 point

Hi again, it´s more a question of prices, the quartz is cheaper about 128 usd - if You order it as 2nd watch in one shipment You save on shipping too. Than You can try out if You really like it. The auto is 300-400 plus a service for fixing the problem as soon as You get it or You can wait for a serviced sample on m2m sales, but that will take long. Just read about. Rolex has so many different with different functions: GMT/Explorer/Vintage/Datejust that the only problem I see is explaining to colleagues/neighbours how suddenly You have half a dozen:), depends how/when You wear them. Anyway get at least one green lumed one of older series with the smaller dots, in my opinion they look more elegant. The basic movement also runs fine btw. all a question of prices.1 point

Jesus guys! 2000$!!!!! That is a hell of a lot money!! :-D I guess for that kind of bucks i prefer going to south east asia for 3 weeks and rent a motorbike for a nice cruise through the plaines.... (Yeeaaaah I'm a rebel!) ;-)1 point

Hi and welcome to the forum. Quite some list You have there:) Good luck with Your choices. TC/BK have a consistently good build quality, the others may have different quality levels so You get better or worse ones (Your bet:) Actually Andrews ceramic sub is a good choice, superlumed in blue with a perfect (adjustable) rolesor bracelet, the turning of the 120-click bezel is smooth and functional, inner rehault Rolex engraving, laser-etched crown in the glass at 6, serial number on the caseset so You may wear it on a NATO, serial engraved in the rehault at 6 too, screw-down crown with rubber, a wrong pearl, a too thick caseset, maybe another datefont - but who knows or bothers? It´s a lot of value for the money, You will love it, next You might get a green-lumed 16600 Seadweller without Cyclops to match it. Than the shinier TC - or an Ap Diver or a Steelfish….. Glossy picture of Andrews ceramic sub: IWC Portuguese Chrono: The main seconds hand does not move unless You use the Chrono. To avoid movement problems You might choose to get a reliable Quartz (Yes, I´m hearing everybody screaming:), there are several versions of it - like this, not gen-like but a beautiful watch with useful day-function and 24-hr dial (there are others, also from Andrew) - try to sit 1 meter back and tell me if the seconds at 6 sweep or tick......You simply can´t:) more detail? Here: 6. Take a look at the JLC Master Geographic too, beautiful GMT watch 10. or the DSSD It´s fun to be around - every watch a new discovery and adventure. Cheers1 point

How about one like this. It can be had with a gold President bracelet as well. I also believe that a S/S model with a S/S president bracelet would be possible. This one has a genuine dial, crystal, bezel, and crown and a gen 18K buckle. When you talk about solid 18K for the bracelet, you are talking big bucks. I have owned two genuine Day/Dates in the past, both on the 18K bracelets, and they will wear. they don't show wear like a plated bracelet, but over time the links will wear and develop stretch.1 point
