  1. If you find any of the TDs can get hold of a cool lady replica please let me know. I'd like one about 6 feet tall, slim, attractive of course, either blond or a readhead or afro carribean, definitely got to have display front and backs, and the crown jewel guards have to be completely removable otherwise it'll be no fun at all!

  2. The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Chronograph Quartz Grande Date Date CAF101F.BA0821 Designed and developed by professional divers, this Aquaracer represents TAG Heuer's historical dedication to scuba diving and extreme sports. Rep-Picture: Gen - pics The Original: Stainless steel case and bracelet. Unidirectional stainless steel bezel. White dial with luminous hands and index hour markers. Minute markers around the outer rim. Luminescent hands and markers. Date displays at the 12 o'clock position. Three subdials - 60 seconds, 30 minutes and 1/10th of a second with sweeping hand. Swiss Ronda Quartz movement/ ETA 251.262. Scratch resistant, AR sapphire crystal. Screw down crown. Case diameter: 43 mm. Case thickness: 13 mm. Deployment clasp. Water resistant to 300 meters/ 1000 feet. Functions: hours, minutes, seconds, date, chronograph. The Replica TAG Heuer Aquaracer Grande Date: The fit, finish, function and quality of this Tag Aquaracer Chrono are exceptionally good and it is one of the most accurate 1:1 replications I have seen by comparison to web-pictures of the gen. It features a claimed Swiss Ronda Quartz movement as the gen and the same sweeping 1/10 second hand. It´s one of the rare cases the only two reasons to buy the real thing would be the water resistance to 300 meters and the Box set. Until a side-by-side comparison with a Gen is available here are my impressions. The reviewed sample was provided by Sead/Supermirrors, 30 days from order to arrival before X-mas, well packaged with protective covers on the dial and backside at a cost of 239 USD plus shipping. For the quality-feel, the lume and the gen-likeliness of what You get this price is perfectly justified as the top-movement alone already costs 130 USD (at Esslinger.com) Available in black or white. Tag Logo: It shows the 2 arrows on the G Accuracy: +/- 2 seconds per month, not measurable 0,064 secs per day Quality/feel: Impressive, apart from the AP V5 Diver it’s the best overall quality I found in a rep. meaning Chronopushers, stem, time-setting, screw-down crown working smooth and precise as a gen. Not only looks but also feels like a gen which is great; Bezel: Outer, unidirectional rotating 60 minute S/S brushed bezel with 2 clicks per minute to count elapsed or remaining time up to 1 hour. Sits tight and well, rotates easily, precisely and fast with somewhat loud clicks (easy to count by audition). The engraving is good and filled with black. The luminous pearl at 12´ together with the marker at 12´ provide a nice nighttime effect for locating the 12´ position; The inner bezel with the detailed minute count is highly polished S/S and fixed. Lume: Best overall and visible lume, the same on the hands and stickers of a quartz-replica; specially being a Chrono; the same as on gen – pictures. This is a serious reason to prefer this model when choosing a quartz movement. on Nato-Strap Lumeshot compared to AP 15400 BP Maker Lumeshot compared to Rolex Seadweller Chrono: The main second hand is locked at the 12´ position unless You use the chrono. This is a perfect feature because You don´t have a big ticking hand to look at, this was one of the reasons to buy it quartz in the first place. The running seconds tick visibly at 3´ position if You look directly at the subdial. If the eyes are looking either to the big date at 12´or the 6´ encircled subdial You can´t tell. The minute counter scaled to 30 is at the 9´position. Best chrono feature: Sweeping (!) 1/10 seconds are displayed at the 6´position. This hand sweeps flawlessly (no ticking) and very fast measuring 1/10 seconds for the first minute. (Check out a video on youtube) After the first minute it stops sweeping and starts measuring the hours elapsed. Date: Big date display in 2 windows – one for each datewheel - at 12´, nice feature, perfect visibility Caseback: Same as gen (!) Nice, crisp and deep engravings with very high quality of the divers helmet, perfect lettering and engraving. It is quite beautiful also in my opinion. Bracelet: Double locking fold over clasp and easy to use (just push open) divers extension. It has 3 working positions for micro-adjustment on the clasp which is a big plus. Off the wrist it rattles. On the wrist its silent, feels very comfortable and holds the watch well. Actually it feels solid and perfect because of the micro-adjustement possibility and fits the watch case well. Its easy to remove and fix the bracelet on the case. It took time and was quite difficult to remove the link pins – it´s the Heuer system with a tight-sitting pin fixed by a small tube in the middle which Omega also used and nasty to play with. If You bang on the pin-removal tool with pliers or a small hammer they come out after a while and in the end it was easy and without any scratching of the links, but before this broke my (cheap) screw pin removal apparatus (as it happens often with Tag gens by the way as seen on Youtube) and had it on a Nato-strap for some days so its better to have one of those around when You get the watch. Divers extension inner clasp detail outer clasp Weight: 175 grams including bracelet (some links removed) Case: measured 10´ to 4: 43 mm Dial: measured 10´to 4´: 31 mm Thickness: 12,06 mm exactly Size measurements for the Gen differ from site to site with 43 and 44 mm as well as 12,3, 13 and 14 for the thickness Size comparison to the PAM 212 Flyback Chrono and the Rolex Sub- Ceramic Final thoughts: It is a high-quality Watch bordering the super-rep status for its likeliness to the original. The big date is very well readable, the luminiscence is good and the 1/10th second sweeping hand is a joy to look at. It wears solid and comfortable and has a good weight. The overall quality is superior to many lower priced generally known genuine brands. The quartz movement itself is very shock-resistant by its nature so this should last for a very long time. As this is a replica forum in my opinion this is one of the most believable replicas available because of the pricetag of the gen too. The possibility of this TAG even being a rep never even crossed my mind. I “believe” it’s a gen, that´s how good it is. If You are looking for a reliable quartz watch in black or white this surely is one of the best options. Thanks to all reading this first attempt at a review until the end. If You liked this or found this review useful please post a comment or leave a thumbs up.

  3. Have a V3 around here somewhere......................... As to your question Tom most likely has it right been at this a long time. Jack keep in mind is the V3 better yes most likely , I have one never bothered to switch out. Keep in mind we are the most anal bunch down to the smallest detail maybe just a hair better, but it is better so the word is V3 the best one. Very much depends on the level of watch craziness you are at, the one you have could suit you just fine.

  4. I've already answered this in the first thread you started. No need to start another.

  5. You will have the v4. Version number 'upgrades' are unfortunately not always upgrades. If you did your research you would know about the differences between the v3 and v4 TC bracelets and why there were changes.

  7. No mods are really 'important and critical' for the v6, IMO ... even the insert. Others may differ in opinion, but it's really that good. Perfectionists may want more, but we're talking only minor improvements which may or may not be worth spending the extra money on. It's really up to the owner and the budget. Gen crown is obviously more accurate as would the crystal be, but is that going to make a huge difference to a majority of people, no. In fact, a majority of the people wouldn't know the difference between the v6 insert and the gen either. If you are trying to pass it off as gen among a bunch of gen owners who know the watch well (like many of us here), then do all the upgrades (even the really crazy ones). They will even be able to spot the dial and hands differences and the fit and finish of the bracelet. If you just want it to look good around normal people, then you didn't even need to do the insert. Since you have it coming already, just install it and be done. I did not say the v3 clasp is better than the v4. Quite the opposite. The v3 bracelet is widely regarded as being better, but the v4 clasp is better than the v3's. Plenty of threads about it.

  8. I recently picked up a new Navitimer tricompax (thanks GK) as a base for modding. I've been told by a rep dealer that there were 3 'factories' producing Navitimers, and I believe that this is the latest and possibly only version available. It has a different case from my v1's. Taller strap lugs (incorrect compared to gen), sliderule better than v2, dial better than v1 & possibly v2. It has high beat a7750 decorated and also has the signed rotor. The sapphire crystal has the most AR I've seen on any standard Navi rep. However, it has a terrible hue to it, making the subdials and sliderule look beige. So bad that I felt it was unwearable as is. I had seen this bad AR on another rep sometime ago. Today I decided to open up this new watch and take a look. L to R: v1- no/very light AR; v3- single AR; v1 with Taka AR Look how beige the v3 looks. It is worse in natural light. Here we see the difference against a white background. The v3 has a beige crystal!! I swapped the v1 crystal for the v3, so that it is wearable in the meantime while I send the other to Uwe for double AR treatment. I was also bothered by the infamous sunken date. I remembered that I had a spare ETA 7750 dw @6 lying around. I decided to have a go at the raised DW mod as perfected by the modders on these forums. First, i snapped off the teeth using fine pliers. Then smoothed off the inside with a round file. The DW thickness is 0.5mm. Then I used - wait for it... fishing line to raise the DW! It just happens to be 0.3mm thick - which was perfect to make the assembly 0.8mm overall. I glued the line to the underside edge of the DW. This took a while using a sharpened toothpick, being very careful not to let excess superglue run or stick to my fingers. I then marked out the plate to indicate the original DW numerals to align the new DW later This was carefully glued to the outer edge of original DW. The mechanism was tested and dial added. I put tiny pieces of sellotape under the dial near the feet to slightly clear the dial from new DW. Refit dial and test. The DW mod took me about 1.5 hours to do. Here is the non-AR crystal and raised DW! Admittedly, the date changeover isn't as smooth as i'd like; due to excess glue touching the transfer gears, but it does work nevertheless. I'll fix it for good when I get the treated crystal. I'm much happier with the colour of dial and sliderule now. ...and a few quick & dirty shots of this work in progress

  10. Possible mods (in my order of preference) 1) Gen Insert 2) Gen crown and tube 3) Gen crystal 4) find a TC v3 bracelet and swap the v4 clasp onto it and if you are really crazy 5) Gen bracelet 6) Gen dial, hands, and movement

  11. some of the lady replicas out of Thailand aren't quite 'correct' - make sure you check all the parts before committing, as they're likely to slip something inside that you really don't need or want, and will cause issues further down the track that may never be fixed. A thorough QC is recommended prior to purchase. This will save inevitable embarrassment and pain

  14. Craze - if you login and scroll down there is a listing of the dealers that are approved by this forum. Each of these dealers has a section in their forum for feedback and comments. I too have had issues with Putetime and communication so I didn't use them for my last purchase. I used Torobravo and had excellent communication and good turnaround. Choose whom you are comfortable with after reading the reviews and buy a rep, wait for it to arrive, smile when it arrives and repeat as often as needed! Pretty much any of them can get you any watch you would want.

  16. If you don't like the TC insert, get a different insert and use the pearl from the TC. If you want to spend the $$$ for a rolex insert go for it. Most of the other parts are very gen like. But yes they are interchangeable with gen. The reason you are not getting that much response is this is been discussed many times before, also these subs are VERY gen like on the wrist.

  17. Speaking as a gen owner, the gen has a rolex level of detail execution for a fraction of the price. Perfect engineering throughout (bar fairly standard movement). Hard to replicate these very precise minute details, of course. The gen is worth the money if you have surplus cash, but the rep looks like a brilliant attempt and would probably satisfy ones BB itch at a fraction of the price.

  18. Why do we have to do a forensic analysis ,this is an out of the box 320usd rep of a 3,???? usd rep, lets accept the watch and enjoy it ! the rep is not made by tudor so it can never be exact 1-1 it is a super rep that is damn close to the gen ! and the chances of meeting someone in our daily lives that will call you out, is very very slim ,i see the photos here of the gen with the rep and although i have not received my black bay yet i am impressed by the replication as we know they spent a long time and effort in this replication ! i think it is a lot of watch for 300usd ! Enjoy wear your blackbay and forget about the gen i am sure that some who have thought about buying a gen BB will buy the rep instead and save some serious $$$$s !!!!

  19. shipping watches is such a hit or miss game. For Europe triangle shipping is bomb proof thanks to Schengen Dublin. Shipping gens trying to avoid duties is a whole other story. I guess best to send a gen is as panerai153 described it and put "return & repair of a precision instrument" on the package Hope it turns out fine for you without paying duties of higher value than your actual watch

  20. Fraggle, that's a valid point. I believe we often do things that make them look like a rep!! no box, just bubble wrap and a large Envelope, hand written labels, declarations for 25.00 USD -50.00 USD. Those all scream counterfeit. What we have to realize is the people who work for customs are looking at hundreds if not thousands of packages a day. After some experience, I believe they get pretty good at spotting suspicious packages. If you open 2 Yellow tape wrapped packages and find watches inside that are obviously not genuine Rolex Submariners (Who in the world would ever ship any genuine Rolex that way), it doesn't take long for you to see the pattern, and from then on that agent is going to open every yellow, tape wrapped package from China that comes down the conveyor belt. The only thing that will get past is if he's too busy to stop something or he's already opening one and 10 more slip by. I Also believe that a lot depends on the POE where your package arrives. I know that a few years back, LAX was not a good bet for rep watches. I suppose they got lots and lots of packages from China and they probably figured out the tendencies and that helped them in stopping packages. What I can't understand is why in the world the dealers as well as other shippers can't put the watch inside a "Watch box' as you said, bubble wrap it and then fill a larger cardboard box with packing peanuts, put a nice printed label on it. Declare it as "timepiece" value 200.00 USD and send it on. I would bet that their would be a lot less problems. I got 13 emails from the shipping company yesterday, back and forth as to what they needed from me, etc. What they told me was the customs folks were not claiming it was a rep, their only problem was it was under declared. the shipper valued it at 50.00 USD. When it went through FED Ex customs clearing, I'm sure they are used to seeing watches declared for much more, and they got suspicious. Too cheap to be shipping by courier !! I firmly believe that had the shipper declared it for 200-300 USD, it would have sailed through with no problems. Had he shipped it registered mail, it might have gotten through with a 50.00 USD declaration, as the customs agents that handle regular mail are used to seeing low value items come across, so no alarms. Just got great news!!! Email from the shipping company, customs released the hold on the package,. coming FedEx overnight will get it tomorrow. So in this case hopefully a good outcome, unless I get a customs duty bill from FedEx for customs on a 20K watch!!! Probably not as I believe the shipping agent would have told me and given me the option of refusing delivery. I'll post updates.
