  2. The things you read on that guys page... Apparently we're now equal to rapists for owning damn reps. I bet these saints have never downloaded a movie or an mp3. Such wonderful people.

  3. Hi guys just bought this today. It's used from 2012. Sorry for the quick pics. This is one of the only places I like to post my watches. Gen or rep.

  4. It's a pretty simple straight forward process provided you have the correct tools and a good workspace and good lighting. If you are lacking any of those, I would recommend sending it to a good watchsmith and get the dial changed. Easy to f**K up the keyless works if you don't know how to release it to remove the stem, and easy to mess up hands if you don't know how to remove them or replace them after your new dial is in place.

  5. I have no problems with minuteman hanging around, if he is civil, which he seems to be now, and is a contributor to the forum. AFA the folks who wear replicas and try to pass them off as genuine, well, that's about the same as going over to the Vintage Rolex forum and posting your MBW 1680. You are going to get hammered, and frankly, you get what you deserve. I believe that he vast majority of contributing members here, are not trying to pass their reps off as a genuine watch, and I say contributing, because there are literally thousands of people who sign up for this and other rep forums come on board, read a few posts and find out where to buy a good rep, leave, with a zero post count, never to be seen or heard from again. I cannot speak for these folks, because they never made a contribution at all. I would guess however that a fairly large number of these "pass through" individuals do indeed buy a rep watch to impress their friends with their "real" Rolex, AP,Omega, etc. What these people do with their watches is their own business, but I don't believe that you should implicate the entire rep community because of what some folks do. As far as the rep community being a criminal activity and supporting organized crime, I'm afraid that you are going to have to show me some real statistics to support that theory. I very seriously doubt that the replica watch industry in China is anything but industrious entrepreneurs who are trying to get ahead in the world, like everyone else. I have a sneaking suspicion that a lot of the replica watches come out of the very same factories that produce the millions of low end to mid range watches that you see in Dept. stores, WalMart and other discount stores. The Chinese government is turning a blind eye to all of the replica/ counterfeiting business, simply because it's good for the economy, creates and maintains jobs, and when people have jobs, they aren't out in the streets protesting and creating social upheaval, which is one thing that the Chinese government fears the most. As long as people from other parts of the world are buying the goods produced in China, whether they be legitimate or counterfeit, the Chinese authorities could not give a good damn what we think, what Rolex thinks, or any of the other "luxury good" companies think. They need the Chinese more than the Chinese need them!! And as far as the theory advanced that we are supporting child labor and enslaved laborers, I can tell you I'm 100% convinced that you are much more likely to be supporting child labor with your purchases of any article of clothing that isn't made in the USA, and I mean anything from Polo Ralph Lauren to the T shirts you buy at Target.

  6. If I'm honest, I don't have a problem with batman calling out the muppets on ig trying to pass off that stuff as gen to anyone that will look in the hope that their self esteem and value as a human being will somehow be increased. Again being honest as this bug has turned into a fever I have had to take stock and ask myself why I feel the need to buy more reps when I already own my three dream watches. It could be argued of course, the insatiable desire to purchase more watches that is only curbed by the capacity of my wallet and my landlords completely selfish demand that his rent is paid EVERY month, Is because deep down I'm trying to fill the ever increasing void that knowing I don't have the genuine version brings. Or conversely it could be argued that I simply like the way they look on my wrist and could not care less that they are not "genuine" I owned a genuine brietling gt some years back. I would like to again one day however I have a wife who loves me and 3 beautiful children that I would prefer to spend my money on. My value as a person does not come from a watch. Rep or otherwise. Minuteman, I challenge you. Stick around make some friends, show us your gens, educate us with your knowledge of the pieces you own, hell why not build the ultimate franken and get us all drooling. If you do stay surely you will have to take the prize for the most insane entrance ever made on rwg. Note to mods. Sorry to add fuel to the fire. Maybe I should have refrained and let the more established members deal with this thread. I've just grown to love this place, I promise to upgrade ASAP!!! Bvc.

  9. You get a welcome from me. When something is 'new' to people of course you are defensive at first. As you will see the people here are not out to con anyone. In fact most of us press the alert button on the net if anyone is trying to deceive anyone else. Apart from that, you will meet amazing individuals here with a real and sincere passion for watches. Many gen owners here too who have had their veil lifted to other passionate watch collectors who simply enjoy specific designs, watch movements, changing straps and generally looking for ways to elevate their love for watches to a high level.

  11. Thanks for the very nice welcome guys! Maybe I will bother you with some silly questions but it's better to ask the pro's than to buy an useless piece right?

  12. Yeah? Why do I deserve to be on this idiotic instagram thing? Nobody has ever asked me about any of my watches, and I have never claimed my reps were real. I have never taken pictures of me and my reps, the only pictures I take of my reps are posted on the replica boards.Yet my nickname is smeared by screencapping my replies in this thread on this social network for the mentally retared.

  13. I agree with what minuteman is doing. His knowledge on the ''faults'' IMO suggests he is a big fan of, or has/used to have fakes himself. These [censored] on instagram etc, why would you flaunt your fake? They're asking for trouble, and deserve the unwanted attention they receive for their stupidity.

  14. Time to wake up my friend. For every alleged crime committed with funds generated from rep industries there are hundreds if not thousands of atrocities committed by the "genuine" organisations and governments I've no doubt you would religiously pledge your allegiance to given half the chance. Its clear to me, it is you that has been seduced by the infantile, intellectually and morally bankrupt propaganda proffered by your owners. If you are truly concerned about this terminally ill system we call a "society" I am saddened that the best you can muster is joining an online community for the sole purpose of accusing its members of supporting criminal activity. The paradigm you so vehemently cling to is about to be shattered. Wake up and smell the coffee. On the other hand if you are a simple troll looking for a bite. I'm as introverted as they come and draw bat cave amounts of power from "calling out" rep belief systems such as those held by your good self when they are forced upon others. Knock yourself out pal I love it! Bvc.

  16. What most of these folks don't seem to realize is most of the folks here are also owners of genuine watches. I have probably twice as many genuine watches as replicas. I'm not a "poseur", I don't need to be, and never was. I do like what mtbkr65 said, that replicas are a good way to " test drive" a particular watch before you buy. Lots of folks see the prices that Rolex and a few other really popular brands command as used, but realize this, there are many, many other brands that are not as well known, and these have a huge depreciation when resold. If you don't believe this, go over to the sales forum on WUS or TZ and see what folks are selling practically new watches for. With many brands you are lucky to get 70% of your purchase price back when you resell. So from that standpoint, I would rather buy a 400.00 USD rep of a 5K watch and try it on for size, If I like it, I might start searching the genuine forums for a gently used genuine. If it doesn't resonate, then probably the gen won't either. Much easier to sell the rep on for 300.00 USD and take a 100 buck loss rather than selling a gen and taking a 1k or more loss! Just makes good economic sense to me.

  17. I'm fairly new to this forum, IMO I have bought several replica watches. I purchased these because while I have the means to purchase genuine versions I have been collecting watches for several years and have several thousand dollars into my current collection, and the one thing that I have learned is watches tend to go in and out of a collection quickly. Because of the aforementioned reason and losing some times hundreds reselling or trading buying reps is a great way to "test drive" a piece before buying a used Gen for several thousand and losing hundreds when you realize it's just not for you. My other issue is that the replicas I own I will never purchase the real version so none of those companies would have gained my money anyway. As far as child labor is concerned do your research because I'm willing to bet you own something that was made in China or India by children. Anyone who owns an iPhone and researchs Foxconn is a perfect example. I belong to several online watch groups and have posted my replicas but with a clear understanding that they are replicas, if you pose replicas as real to make yourself out to be something other than what you are than you deserve to be called out. 18. Hi, Looks great on your wrist and so much going on with this watch the sunken DW is hardly noticeable. Got one of these on order too, can't wait now, thanks for posting and wear in health!

  19. I wear them cause i think they're beautiful and can't justify spending that much for a gen yet, not to impress anyone or show that i have an expensive watch. If someone recognize it is a watch worth $25k or something, then they would usually ask me about it anyway and i always tell them about my hobby. I don't make that much a year and i'm still young so it'd be absurd to act as if it were a gen.

  21. I've been looking for a good folded riveted 7206 since Yuki quit carrying them. I finally tried the one Minh Quy offers as his "special quality" piece. I'm sorry to say I cannot recommend it. Even though it costs nearly 3x what Yuki charged for his, the quality is nonexistent. On the 6:00 side of the band the links taper down in width as expected. On the 12:00 side two adjacent links are the same width so the taper is wrong. The coronet on the clasp is very poorly formed. It's clownish. The clasp won't click shut, as delivered. It sorta stays but there's no definite click. No amount of bending and tweaking will fix it. I had to cobble in an old Yuki clasp. The endlinks are made of extremely thin metal so they're incredibly easy to bend out of shape. That being said, the curve apex at the springbar tube in the endlink is too acute, so I cannot get the right shape for a 6538 case. I can make it look "okay" but not "right." The Yuki band was trivially easy to shape right. A rivet head on the 12:00 end of the band was far too tall so it hit the lug and the springbar would not click into its hole. I filed it down until it works. Finally, the 6:00 end fits like a dream but the 12:00 end is too wide for the 20mm lugs. It took a lot of filing to get it to pop in place, and it still doesn't fit nearly as nice as the 6:00 side. Bottom line, this is an overpriced piece of crap. If you're diligent you can make it work. But it's not even in the same league as Yuki's $110 bands were. Alternatives? Non-existent. Let's hope Yuki comes up with more of his, although having handled both I suspect they're from the same factory.

  22. There are some very handsome riveted bands out there that feel pretty sturdy. Problem is, they're much thicker than the real deal when viewed from the side. If you want to go thin / riveted / folded then the best so far are the bands Yuki had originally. The end links stunk then as well, but they had enough meat to them that you could beat them into shape. The new examples are weak enough that a hard stare will crumple them like Chuck Norris staring down Bruce Lee.
