  3. From the photos it almost looks like they have just squeezed the ends of the links shut to hold in the pin? If so you can probably bend one side open on two adjacent links and remove the bars, remove one link and put back together. Very cheap! Or an alternative that I would consider is getting another cheap bracelet or mesh from eBay. They are cheap enough and can be adjusted normally.

  5. looks just like the one that's for sale on RG At any rate it is a beautiful watch. I'm afraid that these franken AP builds are too rich for my blood, but they sure are nice. Sorry that you are having problems selling your watch over on RG, but selling one of these "Super frankens" is often as hard as finding the parts to build it. I have been on this forum for over 8 years, and around 4-5 years before that on the old TRC. In those 12 or so years, I have seen the sales forums littered with broken dreams, beautiful watches lovingly put together that ended up being broken up for parts, as they never sold. Sell a 300-500 USD watch on these forums, no problem, but the higher the price the smaller the buyer pool. When you get into that 3-4K+ price range, the air gets pretty rarified up there. Just not that many folks on these forums that have the cash or desire to buy a 3K+ franken. When new members come onto the forum here and start asking about building a franken with lots of expensive genuine parts, my advice has always been, "You better really like it and plan it as a keeper, because it may not be very easy to sell if you have to sell it"

  6. When shopping with the TDs it is better to email the "top dog" first and just say what watch you want, exactly (and by that I mean colour of dial, case, bezel (if there are options), bracelet or strap, clasp, etc, etc, say where you are and exactly what postal service you recommend. If there is anything you are not clear on, ask here like you have done, or ask the TD. Once you have everything sorted exactly between you and the TD, ask the TD exactly what you need to order and where from their website. As an example of newbie cluelessness and not asking the TDs at the start, my first two rep watches I ordered with shipping via the UK. I mean, I live in the UK, so I want them sent to the UK obviously! The website explanation of this "UK shipping" was terrible and I didn't realise it meant via the UK and then onwards to somewhere else, so that wasted $35 (that I had as a credit note for the next order). So it's like anything else really, good communications are the key to everything running smoothly.

  7. The only 24 or 25 is DSN/ Davidsen. I had the 24 and it's a great watch despite the low crown that seems to bother a lot of members Though the 243 might be higher quality in certain aspects it's a little top heavy and aesthetically not as nice as the 24. Go for it http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/120039-pam-024a/

  8. Hi and welcome to the forum, You may use Andrew from Ttw but You must use shipping via UK option - always and pay extra $40-$50 - choose 2 watches. That option is expensive but safe for 1 or 2 watches (3 is risky), 4 or 5 will be apprehended. Torobravos ships from Spain if You ask him, takes time but is same/better shipping is a little cheaper and has a very good "hot" section with special offers. Shipping time is +- 3 weeks and safe/ no problem. TD who do not offer shipping via UK You cannot use. As a second watch You may choose quartz (+- 128 usd) or Rolex/others with the cheaper Asian 2813 movement for $168. Wish You good choices:)

  10. Great review, thanks for this informative post!! Still love the 3714 - 01. It is a great dress watch. I once made this gen-rep comparison set-up with mine: I put it recently in the Watches area for sale since I do not wear it much wih its black gator strap. Yesterday I found this great combo with a HK Tan custom brown strap that I would wear much more considering the colour of my belts and shoes. Having a great HK Tan on my 3717, I am now seriously considering to go for this combo and withdraw the offer!! Wear 'em well!
