  4. Dbanes883 I disagree with you assessment, this has happened to me specially when is very humid, coming out of A/C room and going out to a warmer place and humid. it will flog if the crown is unscrewed, just leave in the sun and it will dry out then close the crown and you should be good to go.

  5. The caseback gaskets on reps can sometimes be improperly installed and as a result, will be pinched. This will compromise the integrity of the waterseal. If you open it up, you might find that to be the case. If not, either the tube/crown or crystal gasket are to blame. Either way, I would not panic. open it up and get a bowl of rice and/or silica gel packs and let it sit for a couple of days.

  6. I've been keeping my eyes peeled on all the m2m sales but so far nothing has cropped up. There's no rush though, I'm probably going to have a go at fitting the crown you sent me later, I need to replace the tube too so hopefully the yuki one I bought will fit the case. Anymore purchases in the pipeline Mart? [emoji57] I'm not sure, I think the lume has either been mixed with one of those urinal fresheners you find in public toilets or it has been handled by someone who has some serious nicotine Stains on their fingers. 8. I think you will find that most of the seasoned members in here will suggest you stick with the A2836 movement and save a lot of $$$$. That watch is a great choice BTW.......

  11. Chrome seconds hand instead of white, and 8500 decoration instead of 8400. Have a look at the Omega section, this watch has been thoroughly discussed.

  12. "Ok, so where I do order my new Omega Seamaster 300 Master Co-axial (what a name BTW) now. Who has the correct version with white seconds hand and 8400 movement?" Puretime.

  13. I shouldn't respond to the trolling, but I will anyways. Actually they are all "real" watches in that they all keep time. Many of the members here do have or have had genuine watches. Calling the time pieces many of our members have "cheap fakes" is quite an insult. All you need to do is look at some of the stunning pieces that have been built by the members. For some it it not about owning a "Rolex" but it's a passion for watch collecting, studying the history, and sharing that passion and knowledge with others. Part of sharing that knowledge is to encourage others to take the time to do some of their own studying... Try to wrap your head around having 12 instead of 1. I am a good example of this. I have collected Rolexes since the 80's but usually only had 1 at a time. I have had many genuine Rolexes over the years but really did not know that much about the history or intricate details of them. This forum has opened my eyes to the real world of watch collecting. Doing my first Franken build was far more satisfying than any gen purchase I have made. So instead of 1 or 2 gen pieces I am collecting all the models I like. Not to say I won't buy another gen, I am currently shopping for a 1966 5513, but not to replace my reps to add to them. Sent from my droptop using telepathy.

  14. The Myota has the best movement and deco on the movement as well not only the rotor, has 3 screws in the center of the rotor (just looks good) and it´s the thinnest (also good. Best logo as well - unfortunately either the markers at 12 are not parallel or the logo is off center or twisted somehow in too many samples. As the diver is black I would really consider the blue one (white too pale but doable, silver too blingy, black too black together with the diver). earlier model: Ryan´s BP version when You still got Swiss ETA´s (its 1 mm thicker)

  15. Best advice buy a v6 mine arrived and is magnificent!

  16. Would go for a V6 if buying now. J12 is renowned as one of the best makers today. Both the V5.1 or V6 are good to go. The gen has smaller, more square or flatter numbers than the V5.1. I´m quite satisfied with the lume on mine, time is readable all night. Overall everything is good on it, it just looks and feels convincing. This "hard" rubber strap is superb, it´s the only one I use (except sometimes the PAM one, totally different). It´s a bit heavy - 180 gr. V5.1 from Toro

  17. OMG! I just picked up my modded 111 from Marlin at the post office! I simply love it. Usually when a watch comes in I just like it a lot and I will end up selling it after a couple months. But this baby is a definite keeper! After coming home I took off the rep strap and put on a gen strap. That turned it into a even more beauty! I think I feel comfortable wearing this in front of gen owners or in any AD. Ofcourse I will not wear it in an AD, Im just trying to explain how happy I am with her good looks. I was too excited so I only took a quick wristie in the back-yard in front of my plants as I just watered them wearing my beloved one. More pics will be done this weekend! Thank you Marlin! Thank you Asian rep goddess Faki Watshi! More pics as promised: Mods done: Y-Incabloc Polished ratchet wheel bevel Polished crown wheel bevel Brushed and gold plated gear train Long micrometric screw Reshaped swan-neck ETA markings on the main plate Polished and flattened canon pinion And of course, cleaned, oiled & regulated
