  2. Other options are NDT & MQ. Of the 2, NDT tends to be cheaper & more variable, MQ is probably the most expensive, but also the most accurate (most of the time). In either case, at this price level (high) I would recommend that YOU do your research (on gens) before clicking any buy buttons. No aftermarket part is perfect. They all contain flaws & YOU need to decide which flaws bother you the least.

  4. You've pretty well covered the case options, etc. With DW out of the picture and given the fact that Spinmaster worked on DW cases and dials, those two are gone. There is 'Son of Phong' who sells parts on ebay- world_time_inc_online is his store- he's got a few dials and other parts. So like you say, the cartel watches are really the only way to go unless you spend big on Phong stuff, also there's MQ over in Saigon, expensive and always a challenge buying from someone in Vietnam. M2M is your other option- keep your eyes open.

  8. Between obsessing looking for our next car, I scour for watch parts, so I'm glad to share deals for bits I think people here can use.

  9. Hands seem to be the toughest part about these Air-King builds. I looked high and low for a set of hands for my 5506 franken and had to settle for a pair of dauphine style hands: Not perfect, but they look the part for an older Air-King.

  18. Looks very nice! The Air-King is really one of the great classics in a respectfully modest way, not presuming to out-cool others. Naive as it may be, somehow I tend to trust people who wear these watches, as they propose the idea of a chip off the old block mg
