  1. Much better than the duct tape or the rollerball: enter the kitchen (or supermarket) and get one of those yellow, blue or pink thick rubbergloves. Apply constant pressure several times until it moves - specially good for Panerai. Take 2: from Amazon or ebay get a set of Huaxing caseback openers, these cost $17-$23 usd and work the same as the Bergeon ones, simple easy and best way to watertighten when closing the case again. Since having one of these no Rolex-case was an issue anymore.

  4. Thank you sir. Admittedly, there are only a few Panerai that I absolutely love; the 201/A having always been the top of that list. I appreciate the design and am fascinated by the history of the brand... But as someone who feels more comfortable wearing 36mm vintage Patek, 44mm - 47mm cases are a bit of an adjustment for me these days (they also draw a little more attention than I like ). None the less, my 201/A has been a constant work in progress and on the scale of fun it definitely ranks within the top 5. This piece was built with parts that couldn't have been possible without great friends who have made huge efforts (evident of their love for all things watches); I've made some great friendships from this build, and that alone brings a smile to my face every time I look at this piece

  5. Gen 16520's and 116520's have been coming down in price for a year or so now so it's not worth going down the franken 16520 route anymore. Franken 62xx is the way to go. I have a franken 6265 with gen everything apart from case and movement (obviously movement is a V726) and all in it's cost me about $7000 or about 20-25% of the cost of gen which is a pleasing ratio and far better bang for buck than say spending $4000 on a franken SubC that a gen of would be $6000.

  9. Let me start off by saying I have known Matt since I was a kid. He was there for me when i got my first rep DJ and he turned it into a master piece when I was 13. It blew my mind at such a young age and I've been in the rep scene ever since. I am so happy I got to introduce him to the forums and he has been able to extend his expertise to all of you guys. Matt is truly a remarkable person. Truly a honor to know the guy.

  10. I believe that they are cracking down, because thye want everyone who sells or repairs to be a "supporting Vendor" At a "Small cost". I hate to see what they are doing happen, but their loss is definitely our gain!! I have known Matt for several years, and everything he has ever done for me has been better than expected. He and I have a lot in common, because we are about the same age, but that aside, he is very competent and a great guy to work with. In fact i have a watch all boxed up and in my truck, ready to drop at the PO, going to Matt.He has worked on genuine Rolex watches of mine, and that's something that i certainly wouldn't trust to just anyone.
