  1. Personally I have always found the mods on RWI decent guys and also very patient when I have made selling mistakes in the past... Problem is always with any international community is that humour/cheekiness what ever you want to call it doesnt travel well.... and it can easily create an instant offensive or defensive response ... humour or the understanding of the translation of that humour into other languages or cultures can be a dangerous path and esily whats meant as a bit of fun can be taken the completely wrong way.... I think its better to remember the humour you meant to convey when typing rather than reacting negatively to someones misunderstanding... and a quick sorry and explanation is a quick resolution to any misunderstanding.. I always apologise if my humour does get taken the wrong way rather than question the other persons lack of understanding (which i aint saying is the case here) But all in all I always found it better to just hold your hands up and say sorry (whether I feel i am right or not) I aint into internet warrior or faceless bravado or getting myself worked up over and about something I only want to enjoy and benefit from.... All in all there are some great guys on any of the forums and there are some total twats... there are good mods and to a lesser extent some poor ones... For me its just a case of doing as your asked and if you disagree keep it to PMs other than that life is too short to make an enemy you will never meet let alone get yourself worked up over ... But thats me..

  3. Bronica, read the thread a bit further, yes the mods called me on the tag, I never said the mods called me on the year. If you follow the thread you will see that I corrected by posting a new tagged picture which had the full date, but the 5 in 2015 looked a bit like 2013 and someone made a comment " did anyone else notice that it says 2013" That is what I was referring to. Seriously, read the whole thing. You will see what I was referring to. That was a petty thing, really as if I would take a picture on sept 2 2013 and save it till 2015 just it sneak something. It was irritating as I was trying to do things right. As for the moderators, is not putting RWI on the tag against the rules? Yes, but to put a hole on the auction? I could see them asking to correct the tag, they do this all the time but to put a hold? Yes it is their prerogative, for sure. It just comes across like a cop that is trying to find every little thing that is not perfect to get you on, not to help you. Either way, the whole point is that this forum is much more relaxed, in a very good way.

  4. To me the above image looks machined, not stamped. You can see the chatter of the cutter and the slight wavy path, particularly at the inside tip, and at about 10 o'clock as it comes up around to the top, caused by the sheet material moving slightly. The picture Pete has is of more contemporary dials, which were higher volume production, where it made sense to make tooling. The Pre-Vs were low volume, it made more sense to pay a higher part price but not have to pay for tooling, they were only selling small batches. This would mean that the variation in indice thickness is easy to explain, every time they did a batch they had a different cutter, possibly even replacing them within batches. You are talking less than 0.1mm between a 'thin' indices dial and a 'thick' one, so cutter wear, cutter tolerance, or even 'Damn, broke a 0.7mm cutter, have a 0.8mm, it'll do, no one will notice' comes into play. Small company QC in Italy for tool watches, not Swiss luxury QC... Factor in 'painting over the lines' and thickness tolerance goes haywire. Another thing that is interesting on thick indice dials: sometimes you can see where the cutter goes from the top of the '6' in towards the middle, and gets so close to the edge it leaves a tiny sliver of metal, which gets pushed slightly into the vertical part of the 6. Couldn't be done by stamping, and shows they machined the '6' and '9' from the outside in...

  5. I know most guys have had or wanted a DSSD at some point and there has been much discussion on the dials so I thought i would just post up the gen dials that have been issued the biggest diiference is that the MKI has a gloss finish which the others do not and this leads into the Deep blue which the rep has a matte finish but is actually gloss like the MkI most noticeable when it catches the light especially if you ARd the crystal... So while I was putting together my franken I found various info on the variations and thought i would share them here before I get rid of them and move onto my next project... There are 3 variations so far starting with the M serial /Mk I The V Serial /Mk II/ Mk III mostly MKIIs and the G serial MkII/MkIII mostly Mk IIIs The next easy tell is the position of the = Mark I...... ft=3900 Mark II......ft = 3900 Mark III.....ft= 3900 Here are the pics that show more than words ever could.... Heres the DSSD II against the Deep Blue Heres the gen Deep Blue unmounted

  7. New Sevenfriday V series! I find this the most interesting of all: The V-Series (and all other new watch models from SevenFriday from now on) will have a NFC chip on board. This new way of authenticating a timepiece (to tell fakes from authentic ones) is a nice step forward in watchmaking. Where digital technology meets mechanical engineering! Each watch with NFC chip can be scanned with a NFC enabled phone using the SevenFriday app. The app will immediately indicate whether the watch is authentic, or not. http://www.fratellowatches.com/sevenfriday-v-series-a-new-cool-for-under-1000-euro/

  8. Gen 1601 Datejust with (somewhat rare) 'Mystery' dial, 62510H/555 bracelet & powered by caliber 1575, circa 1970. Sammy Davis, Jr had the only other 1 like it that I have seen.

  11. Hey Cavi, I think you are getting confused with what i am saying and what the rules are. I have read the entire thread, the mods called you out on the tag because it was wrong, you did not have the year. That is why it was put on hold. If you read the rules, you do not need to have 'RWI' on the tag, that was not the issue. They did not say anything about the confusion of the 2013/2015, only some members did and other member then stood up for you. It seems your issue is more so with the members calling you out in the thread and jumping to conclusions and admittedly that does suck, but you're gonna find those people in any fora unfortunately.

  13. Hi folks, Need a favor, I have checked these pics sent from a very TD, and the v7 seems to be a good match and finish. Using to my limited knowledge and based on picture quality. I have compared to several photos of the gen and looks to me like a good one. Actually it seems to be a very nice piece. Just wanted the opinion of your savyy eyes. If you have some time that is. I thank you in advance for your comments.

  15. Okay? You know i'm not actually telling you to go to Vegas, or saying you're a gambler right? You keep grasping at straws to salvage some form of a comeback it's quite sad. I never once insulted you so i've no idea where all this "dark hole, hall monitor, numbskull" stuff is coming from but it just shows the sort of personality you have. My input is actually quite useful in fact. You made this thread for some way to vent or gain support and input, when a lot of the people supporting you are the people who did not read the rules just like you, and blaming it on RWI. The other half are people telling you suck it up and rules are rules, which you can't apparently read. Do you realise how many people have successfully made threads and sold their items without a problem? You are an iota in that pool. You abused selling thinking it was a right, and not as a privilege and your own self-entitlement landed you in the brig. You'll probably come back with a string of insults that have no relation or connection to me. I'll look forward to reading it and seeing how you vent your own frustration out on me but you won't be worth replying to again. Thanks for the enjoyment buddy. P.S. To quote you from RWI: Juxtaposed by your reply to me an hour ago: Enjoy 8th grade!
