  2. Sorry man. I didn't mean to step on anyone's toes or start a turf war/dance off. This is just a hot item right now and there are a lot of members posting pics of their Yeezy purchases at the moment over yonder. Glad to read that there is a local source here that can hook you up. 5. They offered to buy it for $1500, I offered to buy it for $1700 or loan $1000 on it for 90 days. He hocked it for $500 and will probably never be back to pay the loan off and pick it up. The shop owner and the 'scout' said the guy will not be back and they are about as good a judge of characters like this as the average professional head shrinker.

  6. If the crown is stainless steel and the threads, clutch, and spring are all Ok it should be all right. Some have a brass inner threaded part with a steel clutch and cap and they hold up pretty good too. Be careful with crowns made out of cheapo 'pot metal' as they usually have trouble early on. I have had good luck with the crowns on JMB and StoneP cases. Genuine crowns are mostly made out of nickel silver with a steel cap and later 'monobloc' models are all steel. Many replica 6mm crowns are made to the same spec as a crown on a 16200...6mm od but take a 5.3mm case tube. Your 16000 case is all 6mm so make sure you get a 6mm crown made for a regular 6mm case tube. It is all in the crown info 'sticky' above. Prices have gone crazy...brand new 5.3/6.0mm steel crowns were $20 each in 1995, yellow gold 5.3/6.0mm were $35, 7mm steel were $35, and 7mm gold were $75 from a supply house on 47th St in NYC that I had an account with back then. The mechanic at a local rolex AD used to give me all the 'take off' crowns. Now take offs are going for $75+ each on eBay. A new genuine crystal for a 16000 DJ was $17.50, one for a 5513 was $15.50.

  8. Lol yeah Idk how I put that the dial detail is better than gen. I meant it is better than TF. woops I had a blue dial TF and I can say that I enjoyed it more than the white TF. The blue dial was magical although indeed different than gen. I think the JF blue is closer, although perhaps nicer, deeper, than the gen so not quite accurate either. As far as V6F and TF I believe the dials are the same. Someone has said the bracelets are the same as well--and that is a very nice bracelet if you get one that is symmetric (I got one that was mismatched on one side of the case on my TF). I like the TF bracelet flexibility better than JF. V6F case shape is better than TF, but it's thicker my a millimeter and change. As far as dials... despite the tappiserie size (accurate for other Royal Oaks not this one) being too small, it feels gen-like.

  9. It is a birth year thing...I know it is stupid, but it has to be a 1966. For Rolex 66 is a cool year with the transition from gilt to matte. If you have not figured out yet, I tend to be impulsive...I get sick of patiently waiting for the watch I really want to show up. I just need to be patient. Even though a GMT wears better on me because of the flatter case back, the 66 5513 Bart Simpson is my all time favorite Rolex. I just need to be patient. Actually I think I need therapy for my watch addiction.

  11. Problem is for that kind of highly demanded models makers don't need to do much effort to sell.... And one who wants a super rep needs to wait for version no 20 or so... See for the sub C ! They only made top versions once everyone bought the crap. Then, they HAD to make an effort for buyers to purchase their 3rd or fourth version, after spending countless efforts modding the previous versions.... My opinion. But that's always what happens. For popular watches, it takes years after the release of the first reps before accurate reps are made. The first rep of a 5001 Portuguese I have seen was in 2008. I am glad today I did not fall for it ! The only models worth buying to modify are the vintage rollies, as there is not enough demand for them to go the extra mile. For the new ones : waiting is the best option.
