What do we think about just having a Wristie thread in perpetuity? The participation level on a daily basis for a new thread each day feels a bit lackluster. It may be cool to have them all consolidated. Just a thought. I'm wearing this, but the way.

If you have clearance issues you can remove the DW as it's not needed on an OP.

It would still be next to impossible to tell as the original cases were not milled from forged ingots. So the grain structure will not have a uniform pattern anyways. The original bars bars were slightly over and press fit in, punched, then polished flat with the case. As many of of have said, everything about this watch stinks. The cornet on the dial is wrong and there was only one dial on these subs, the same dial as the 5513 pre comex feet first. The minute hand is too long, the seconds hand is too long ( so not original) I can see these things from a quick look. The pictures don't show the 660ft where the 6 should be open. The insert is a Replacement for sure with that lume dot and I'm somewhat curious about the hour hand as well, but I'll have to look deeper. This is not a $130k watch and anyone who buys this as an original milsub at any price is a fool and foolish investments like this will have them parting with the majority of their funds on bad investments soon enough. Spending this his kind of money on a vintage Rolex, you really need to know what you are looking at. Yea the milsubs are collectable because they are rare and have a bit of history, but they are base subs and nothing really special in my eyes. To be honest the couple thousand dollar franken I'm building right now is the most I would spend on one lol

i own a black bay v2 rep. ive gone in two different oceans snorkeling, and diving in a chlorine pool without any issues whatsoever. i did grease the case back and crown gasket before any of this and always try to do so every year before i know im going somewhere with swimming. i also always rinse off any sea water or heavily treated water with ordinary tap water after wards. i think youll be ok as long as the gasket is indeed greased and the case back is closed properly. not over tight, or under tight. and it has to be said, make sure you crown is screwed down. ive seen plenty of people with their crowns unscrewed unbeknownst to them.

That's a good questions. The washer has fitted to the movement side the movement spacer. This allows it to clear the DW same as it would with the dial. The trick here is to have a washer that's so thin it doesn't affect the stem or hand height significantly. I think if you look closely you'll see the movement spacer in the pic. Quite a bit of difference in the bezel and crystal area and the rep lugs look a tad chunkier. Maybe I should write a program - nah... But, those observations aside, it's a nice looking watch!

Apparently Rolex.com had enough pulled the plug. This was after a newbie did the AD with his Regmariner and never was called out.

Seriously dig this watch ever since I picked it up a few years ago. Serviced a few months ago again due to the flyback having too much torque! Odd problem I suppose. I have some spare parts for this watch that I am thinking about customizing.
