  3. This is a genuine Revue Thommen Quantième moonphase timepiece, my very first serious timepiece which I have procured in the grey market more than a year ago. It had arrived DOA, and after sending it back to the the grey seller and Swiss manufacturer for repairs (the latter being a regrettably costly move), the watch came back still broken! As such, it had sat in my dry cabinet for more than a year while I acquired several other timepieces along the way, mostly genuine and vintage watches. It might have been fitting to have had this review in the proper WUS forum, but I had gotten to know @Legend through the replica forums, and for the edification of the replica community, I decided that this review shall be planted here. I had gotten to know @Legend through another local modder aflop. In our initial casual conversations on our watches, I had mentioned about this broken watch and he had graciously offered to take a look at it. Nothing to lose, I had calculated mentally, when even the manufacturer couldn't fix it for me! To cut the long story short, @Legend took the watch, and fixed it before I could even request an update from him. Sheer insanity. He gave me a rundown of how the watch works (an ETA 2824-2 base movement with a Dubois-Depraz 9310 module, and how intricate a repair it was, given the setup of the watch. He sent me off with a charge that I ought to be extremely delicate with this watch, lest the module and parts break once more under my care this time. I have adjusted the time, day, date, and moonphase over this time back in my care, and all of them work as they should. That is some pretty impressive work by our very own admin and modder in the replica watch communities. I had thrown him a curveball and he has dealt with it with an unmistakable elegance and finesse. Over the course of our continued interactions, @Legend has revealed that he could deal with any repair or mods under the sun. Movement servicing, platinum paint mods and SEL mods (for your subs, DSSDs etc.), waterproofing, datewheel mods (for your 7750 3-6-9 chronos), AR works, just to name a few common ones we in the replica community need. Admittedly, he is not the most humble person, but the important fact is that he could certainly back up his statements with the first class calibre of his work, with me being a direct beneficiary of it. I would highly commend his services and offerings to all without reservations, whether it be for a replica or genuine timepiece. If you're based in Asia, there shouldn't be any reason not to look for him. That said, if you are based on the other side of the world with no reliable local watchsmiths (I'm looking at you, our American friends), it would do you good to consider @Legend to service your timepieces. Thank you once again, Al.

  4. I think OP secretly likes me but unfortunately I don't swing that way [emoji85][emoji85][emoji85] He misses me more often than my own wife. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk Lol OP usually sells old cheap parts that can easily be found. Apparently he has a nice source for Rolex parts but never offers anything to the members @ cost [emoji848][emoji848][emoji848] [censored] if he has a Paul Newman 6263 which used to sell for $800, sign me up for a couple ☻☻☻ Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

  5. Not taking sides but in the gen world a watch built with only genuine parts outside the factory is a franken watch. And in the rep world a full gen build is a genstein. Rep/gen parts build is a frankenstein. Just my two cents.

  6. I have to +1@sacsah1 . A genstein is exactly what he said it was. A watch that was assembled completely out of genuine parts. Even the case and bracelet counts to this. Yours is a Franken and despite the flaws of the ARF case, a very decent one. Although it is not a genstein. Period. If you get butthurt because people telling you the truth, then so be it, be my guest.

  10. I know that there have been earlier Genensteins. This was a Genenstein w/ Phong midcase before it became a ARF Genenstein. I’m pretty sure its the first ARF Genenstein though. A member that I have quite low regards of (sacsah) was the first with a Phong Genenstein (as far as I know) and my friend was nr 2. That’s the reason for the Phong remarks. His midcase was both expensive and mot especially correct. I am not the creator of this watch, it is a close friend of mine. I was the one that got the ball rolling. Helped him aquire first the Phong and now the stock ARF case. However, the work is planned and done 100% by my friend. He is a master watchmaker, 6 years of watch smith school in the early 80s (or whatever its called in english) and 30+ years of working on high end watches. I asked him what he would charge for doing the same work and assembly should a member ask. However, he used to have 2 spare NOS 4130s (sealed), but since both remaining ones are sold, the service is strictly Bring-your-own-parts, as ordering a 4130 from Rolex Geneva is lets put it mildly... ”not that easy”.

  12. If a master swordsmith forges a blade so sharp, and the warrior he sells it to uses it to effortlessly slay a hundred men, the warrior will be judged and not the sword. What we are discussing about is individual integrity and responsibility. You should draw the line at acknowledging the fine work and craftsmanship you produce. That is your accolade. How someone uses your work, is none of your business. Do what you believe in and know what your work stands for. Let every buyer of your watches/work exercise his own responsibility. I do not know if your post is a subtle hint at how good your work is, i.e, craftsmanship so fine, they can make a watch pass as gen, but regardless, what I said remains valid. Being good is not a flaw. But how someone chooses to represent your work/watches is his own responsibility. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ll go to the other forums to browse m2m, learn about whats new coming out etc etc. then come back here and chill How do we get the TD’s more involved?some of the TD’s are more active on the other boards, with interactions and feedback on future releases Fix m2m. 16. Here's a gen. I've circled the tail of the second hand. It's a small detail that makes a lot of difference. Carefully clip it and sand the edges to a point.

  24. Bring back the old, more intuitive, M2M sales section format. The new version hasn’t added beneficial functionality. It also requires a workaround of double posting images in the “Watches” thread as well as in the “Classifieds” to reach the Tapatalk audience. Bottom line, a more intuitive M2M sales section will reinvigorate the forum.

  29. By launching this topic in February 2016 I was far from imagining that I could achieve these results. I spent long hours retouching my Photoshop files, testing all kinds of varnishes, printing configurations, I went from raw brass dial to gold plating through the use of gold leaf, etc. I have tried to respond as well as possible to your requests for information, I have sometimes agreed to make dials, and I also know that it has allowed some of you to realize yours. I am satisfied because behind my moderate price collection project, I was able to show the potential of this technique and allowed some others to do the same. I do not have time to access all your requests for dials and I do not want to make a business, so I decided to share my files. I am not a graphic designer, my use of photoshop is pretty basic, so they are far from perfect and can certainly be improved by more experienced users. These dials and roulette were made for my projects, their dimensions may not be suitable for yours. Note that the 6538, 5512, 6542 and 1675 dials have been designed respecting the gen chapter ring 26mm diameter. I only want one thing in exchange, keep sharing your progress on this topic. Thank you for reading me gentlemen!
