JF is a better candidate. I have a similar Frankenstein build. JF case JF bezel ass 25-295-C12 (more modern than it should be, but I like it so) Gen crown Gen bezel insert Gen dial Gen hands Gen 3135 Parachrome Priek crystal caseback JF 16610 bracelet with Noob v9 Glidelock clasp Recommended! /holo2 points

"The one we can't pronounce his name" lol... honestly the secrecy surrounding this guy is a little much. I think everyone should have access to a gilt dial with the correct typography. Thanks for your help Bart, I couldn't have gotten this result without your posts and tips. Thanks for the lume advice Joey. Right now I want to take a break but eventually I'm sure more dials are in the works. You mentioned pictures of gens taken in the 1950s.. I've barely been able to find any of these vintage pictures. It's a topic that interests me, since they give insight into how these watches looked in a nearly new condition, how they were worn, etc. I might start a thread about it some time. Anyway, is my lume a bit too yellow? I always lume in lamp light and the lume seems too grey and dull so I add some yellow paint, then when I get out in sunlight it seems I went overboard.. Also in this pic you can see what I mean a bit that the brass chapter ring is perhaps a bit too dark compared to the gens.2 points

1. The SPECTRE bezel insert has hour markers 0-11 instead of minute markers. Also the bezel is bi-directional and does not click when turned. 2. The SPECTRE dial is missing the number 12; the OMEGA Seamaster writing and logo are larger. 3. The SPECTRE second hand is a lollipop rather than a spear. 4. The SPECTRE bracelet clasp bears the 007 gun logo. 5. The SPECTRE comes with a black & grey NATO strap which also bears the 007 gun logo on one of its keepers. The black & grey strap Omega sells separately lacks the 007 logo.1 point

Also the dial, the Spectre does not have a “12”. Other than those cosmetic differences they are the same watch both as genuine Omega and as rep1 point

Like people, and all else in life, watches age by what they are subjected to. Personally, I've aged beautifully to the point that I get excited just looking in the mirror...1 point

I've been up to date on TC's work since the v5 or so. I also own a JF v2. The differences between the JF v2 and the TC V7x are, in my opinion, quality and finish oriented. The differences in case shape may be minimal, but details such as the following make the V7x a clear winner: - great bezel insert - great bezel action (very solid clicks, very little play) - great machining of the teeth on the bezel - V7x comes with lug chamfers that are more similar to an unserviced 16610. JF lug chamfers are IMO more similar to a sub that has been very lightly polished and rechamfered at an RSC, but others argue the JF lug chamfer is as many 16610s came originally. YMMV That said, the V7x sells for a good amount more than the JF v2. If you want to save some money on your build, sell the V7x, buy a v2, and make something a hair less expensive that is 95% as good Good luck with the build and be sure to have patience as with any committed project.1 point

The good old aviator 1675 PCG. Designwise it´s the only watch I could wear forever without getting tired of it.1 point

Thanks! I certainly am in love too. A stella dial would be a dream, whichever color for me haha. Tentatively a steel sub for the day...1 point
