  1. Hmm I never know there was black luminova. I learn something new every day, wonder if I'll ever get to see it in the flesh? Link to something I googled... http://www.blogcatalog.com/search.frame.ph...4cb8fa965982c30
  2. Really nice looking watch... there prob isn't any lume; sorta like the volcano and JBB.
  3. My AP Bands strap doesn't have major gaps between the strap and the case. I have the Oracle kit which is much worse. I've yet to try strapluxe thou...
  4. Yeah I guess I was lucky. But your watch looks great!
  5. I do like colors but the strap was modeled after the gen Sachin. The rep end links fit the AP bands strap without any modification. Plug and play. Oracle end links and straps won't work with AP bands or rep end links and straps. I've tried...
  6. Just got 2 new straps for my sec @ 12 today. The first is a custom made Sachin blue croc and the second is an AP bands tan calf. I ended up with the custom sachin strap because the correct strap wasn't available from the cartel when I ordered the watch. By the time the strap was available for order, my strap maker had started work on the strap. The fit isn't the best but I love the way it turned out. The fit actually isn't that bad in person. The price is very fair for a gen croc strap. Do note that the sachin strap from the dealers is printed. The AP bands strap build quality is good and works well with the rep end links! Nuff said, onto the pictures!!! Wrist shots!!
  7. I've only tried rep and oracle band end links and prefer the rep. The rep end links sits the most snug while the oracles are a little loose. I'm waiting for an AP bands strap to arrive and will update if it fits with the end links I have. Hope this helps.
  8. The straps do look good but take note that oracle end links don't sit flushed with sec @ 12 cases. Rep end links also can't be used with Oracle Straps.
  9. I think you can. I've seen someone post an RBII with an AP bands CF strap. Other strap makers include Oracle and strap luxe.
  10. I'm speculating. I had a look at the dealer pics which aren't very good. My sachin came with a "calf leather" hornback strap. The top of the strap is blue but the edges are painted black. I think the Sachin rep strap looks printed and very similar, which is why I'm having one custom made. Gen pices are below, since we're already having this discussion, notice the gen straps have folded edges.
  11. As Theo initially pointed out, the BASE was in reference to the RHONE F and not the Sachin. Given the updated strap it's pretty close to the gen. The tri-stitch looks good but the printed croc and painted edges might be a little give away. All in all it's still good.
  12. I have the Sachin but w/o the updated strap. Infact I've ordered a custom made croc Sachin strap. Asides from the Serial number, the subdials are supposed to be silver. The bottom on the case back is missing some engravings too. Asides from that I love the watch. Go for it. I think I've posted pics in this sub forum.
  13. I guess I'm one of the odd ones. I'd spring for a good AP RO scuba anytime cause it gets rid of all the flaws in the sec@12. I've seen the lume on the gen blue scuba and it's insane!!
  14. No problem, glad to find out someone else appreciates the Sachin! Getting a replacement strap that's up to par will prob cost half the price of the watch!
  15. I've bought the Sachin and I've posted pics within the AP Sub form. The 000/500 flaw isn't a big deal cause it's gonna be on your wrist most of the time and most ppl aren't gonna pick up the flaw unless they're really into APs. The gen says TACHYMETER and not BASE on the Sachin. It's supposed to be BASE on the RHONE F. I initially thought the blue "horn back" strap was going to be a disaster but so far I'm happy with it. I might get a tripe stitched strap made at some point... I've seen pics of the gen and the dial is pretty close. The big draw for me was the blue on the dial, it's pretty uniquie and different from Navy.
  16. I know the RBII is currently the AP to get. However, I didn't think I could pull it off so I ended up with the Sachin Tendulkar. To all the critics, yes I know the serial on the case back and the "hornback" strap are all wrong. I don't think there's a quick fix for the strap so I might have one custom made! But I did order it knowing despite the flaws. Here are a few quick pics. Sorry for the poor quality... Obligatory wrist shot Only the hour and min + 10 marker are lumed. Serial read 000/500, but should be XXX/300
  17. Totally agree... It's a nice watch and all but...
  18. Wow, great looking watch! My dad has a gen and it looks pretty spot on. The fact that the gen doesn't have lume makes the volcano even better! I've had an APROO @ 12 for a few months and it's been running ok. However, getting parts for repair without shipping back to the dealers is close to impossible.
  19. Wow, ok thanks for the info. I'll try with my local MBW contact!
  20. The chrono hour hand on my APROO Sec @ 12 fell off when after I reset the chronos. Turns out the chrono hour recorder wheel is busted. The stem on the standard ETA 7750 hour recorder wheel is too short and can't be used. I've tried the dealers but haven't had much luck. Does anyone know where to get the part? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  21. I might be the only one but I have an oracle kevlar strap with end links. I thought i could use the end links with any strap out there and when I removed the oracle end links, the end that's supposed attach to the strap isn't flush like the OEMs and could not attach to an AP rep rubber strap. I ended up ordering a set of rep end links, probably meant for APROO Sec@12s, and it worked great.
