DSN carries both 44 and 47 blank casebacks. I just ordered a couple of each from him. It would be great if the engraving can be done. Thanks for looking it up.

Hi Zypher, I am not sure where to get the 44mm casebacks, but dsn carries the 47mm blank casebacks. In fact, i am planning something similiar but using the 47mm watch. Would it be fine with you to help me doing some caseback engraving?

damm takashi, you are really fast! I didn't expect a reply so soon. Thanks for the help!

Thanks takashi! If you have the name or directions, that will be very helpful as well! Thanks still. Will look around people's park centre

Hi guys, anyone know where i can engrave casebacks in Singapore? Thanks!

Hi sssurfer, thanks for the help! I've managed to remove the crown. I think i am going to paint the black hands and give the date wheel a miss.... Thanks !
-
On taking a closer look, i don't know if it is a screw or a pin. I'll post a picture for you to see, sometime later (like another 9 hours). Maybe i'll get to remove the crown after all My chuan is not fist or punch in chinese hahah.... it's "passing on" in chinese. I guess it's pretty hard to know the tone looking at english words... Cheers Here is a picture of the movement. You're right, on closer inspection it looks like a pin. How do i release the stem and after that assembly it back? THanks in advance sssurfer.

Thanks for the offer sssurfer. I have to say my skills are not up to the task. I opened the watch today and realised that i cannot remove the crown. It appears that the crown asssembly is locked by a screw which i have no tool. In addition, while working on the watch, i was a little worried that i will screw up the movement and cause it to stop working. By the way, my Pam 90 is using a much smaller movement in comparison to the case, probably some 21J i guess?

I'm thinking of embarking on my first project to 'improve' the watch. What is the overlay you talking about?
-
Hahaha.... not till you've seen mine. I bought this before i started reading up on geek or rwg. The cyclops mag is bad, the date wheel is very recessed and there is not subsidiary small lens or whatsoever. But having said all that, i still it almost evey other day simply because it keeps prefect time and to the non panerai people, it looks as real as it gets. I bought i for 60 bucks, so.... ahahhaa

Thanks for the help Stormtrooper. I appreciate it. I was and probably still am a little stuck on getting models with a date function because i have a Pam 90 (crappy low cost rep i must add) which the date is almost non readable. For me, it doesn't matter if the mag is similar to the gen, what is important is that the mag is big enough to make the date easily readable. Thanks to everyone for their comments too. Chuan

Pardon the noob question here. Mike's date and mag looks really good, i mean i can actually read the date without any difficult at all! Whereas if i look at DSN's date, they look a tad small and i get the feeling that one might have some difficulty reading the date out in the sun. Is that the case?

Anyone has bought or has any news of the latest version of the PAM 005 that davidsen offers?

Back from my watch hunting in Shanghai. Regarding the Science and Technology museum, the watches there are not worth taking a look in my opinion. They are probably what you would call canal st. quality. Many are available in quartz or are fantasy models. I can speak mandarin so the sales people were running to other stalls or stores to get what i am looking for, but still no dice. At Huai Hai road, little luck as well, the quality is slightly better although still pretty bad. It might be that i'm not a regular so i don't get to see the best, but GZ would be much better than Shanghai i guess (assuming you can find what you want from so many stalls).
-
Roger that. Will post my experience. I've gotten another address in Shanghai from geek. 990 Huai Hai M Road phone: 13917354151. Supposed to be another dealer(s) from Xiangyang. Can't rememeber when Xiangyang closed, but i didn't like the hussling of shoppers back then, so i didn't take note of the watches. i wasn't into rep watches back then though....

I'm going to be there next week as well. Thanks for the info!

That's true passion Uncle Jay. Great to have you here.

I'm not sure why he's selling it, but at 50,000 GBP a pop, i would imagine not many are willing to hand over the cash... My god, 50,000 GBP!

Hahha.... unless you're staying in a really cheap hotel in Bangkok, otherwise it's pretty unlikely to find any cockroaches crawling next to you.

I have no idea why... But I really want one of these!
Chuan replied to ubiquitous's topic in General Discussion
No luck on the pictures, they don't have an outlet. You can only order online or through phone calls and they don't ship overseas... Sorry guys -
Thanks for the link. I've completely missed out on how the logo looks. Thanks for letting me know. And you're right, bigget is better than badly slanting.

Day-Date & DateJust - Fluted or Smooth Bezel?
Chuan replied to DemonSlayer's topic in The Rolex Area
Rounded smooth bezel for ladies. For men, i would go for the fluted. The rounded smooth bezel looks very elegant and classy. While the fluted look gives men the extra 'manliness' ? my 2 cents -
Have a good trip. Take care!

uh oh, sorry Victoria, please tell me that dsn's 005 new version doesn't have many tells. I am interested in his 005 new version and he told me via email that it will be ready at the end of the month. You would know, dsn's don't come cheap. I've been trying hard to spot the differences between the pictures of the dsn's new 05 and the pics of the 05 from paneristi.com. I couldn't find any glaring tells, but considering that i'm still a noob, would anyone kindly point out the glaring tells out? Thank you so much. Also, i have another question for the PAM fans. I saw a picture in one of the galleries of paneristi which kinds of draws my attention. I read that gen PAMs have AR, most gen watches like breitling and rollies have pretty strong AR i understand. All the watches in the pictures reflect a fair bit of light, though the reflections seem blue(indication of AR perharps?). My question is this, should i send my crystal out for double-sided AR if i'm looking to be close to the gens?
