Thanks Mickey. I was wondering if there was a special tool. I'd love to see a picture of an actual tool. I'd have a better idea of how to go about making one. But it does sound pretty easy to figure out from your description.

What's the secret to getting the Novadiac spring back in place. First time I tried I got it pretty quick. Since then I've spent hours trying and mostly just watch them disappear after many minutes of floundering around.

No offense meant, this is a fine forum, but you're hardly comparing apples to apples. They probably handle about 50 times the number of posts.

It's been a little unstable but I've been getting on ok. TB posted about they are going to be upgrading to a larger/better server very soon.

I'd much rather have a movement that was dipped in brake fluid cleaner. At least it would probably still run.

If you're looking for Rolex style brushed finish, here's what I use. Picked up the tip from a gen watch forum. It's available at Home Depot. Also, the wet or dry sandpaper works fine also.

 

 

 

Don't get the wrong idea.. This isn't steel wool. It's a scotch brite pad the "replaces 0000 steel wool". Read the package again.

There is also a pin on the other side of that wheel that is sitting in a jewel so no it's not possible unless you pushed the jewel out the other side of the movement, which I doubt is possible either.

All movements are similar to the one pictured. The center wheel is the large one fitted into the jewel:

You most likely broke off the center wheel pin while having it upside down. They are quite fragile.

The release pin on the last 3804b I had worked just like the 2813. I don't remember having any problem with removal of the stem. Sorry i can't help you any more than that.

You can also use alum powder. it works great and pretty fast. Here's some old pictures from a tutorial I did on the other RWG years ago. Took about a week to totally dissolve the stem. Heating the water occasionally also supposedly helps speed up the reaction time.

It comes as a white powder. You can buy it online or often at Spanish food markets.

The placement of the 6 sub dial on that one ruins it completely.

I think the lug engraving looks terrible. At least when magnified. Other than that I haven't a clue.

You maybe correct but I didnt see much difference in all the TD's who have a website and Noobfactory having one. They are both selling the same thing anyway you look at it. Plus as you said they are in China, no one is going to do anything to them for being counterfeiters, it is a major part of the Chinese economy, hell even the Chinese Government is the largest counterfeiter of US currency in the world! lol

No, it's not, North Korea is by far. I'd need some evidence before I'll believe the Chinese Government sanctions and prints US currency. And you're totally naive if you think that the Chinese government officially sanctions counterfeiting. Corrupt local officials and local police are a different story.
