  1. Thanks! Actually, I realize that I still have some work to do on the crown guards. Best, bluebite
  2. Merci St
  3. Thanks for you warm welcome! I will have pix posted with a 93150 this weekend. The movement is not serviced yet but it's on my list!
  4. Hi everyone, This was the reason why I subscribed to this forum... I came across this gen 1570 movement+dial+hands Purchased a NDt 1680 case from Natalie (a smooooth deal!) Another view of the movement. Found a gen stem and a gen twinlock crown: A couple hour of assembly, silicone grease, sweat, etc. : (I love it with a non-cyclops glass and a green NATO) Next on the to-do list: - gen bezel insert - gen triplock crown+tube - index and hands relume (have the correct off-white paint) What do you think? Cheers, bluebite
  5. This model has never existed. Thanks to Antiquorum, it has acquired some kind of aura in the mil-watch community... Regards, Bluebite
  6. I think the rep in question is a 7016 not a 7928. It looks pretty correct to me, but the movement is wrong, the correct reference being an ETA 2983 with a ROW marking near the balance. Not an issue though. I'm interested IF it's under $400 and IF it's shipped from the EU. Would be interested in a 7928 rep too BTW... Thanks
  7. Fantastic St
  8. What was the issue then? Is the movement a real ETA? Thanks
  9. Hi, I'm certainly interested in a Franken Tudor. What would be the case reference and could you provide detailed pictures? Thanks and regards, Bluebite
  10. Looks good to me too although the probability to find a gen 1680 case on the bay is infinitesimal...
  11. uote name='stilty' date='Mar 28 2008, 01:22 AM' post='426136'] In his previous thread, he is using the gen movement from the 5500 for another project. He now wants to put the empty case to use.
  12. Link to auction
  13. I'm no expert but I think that you'd better get yourself a gen rolex 1560 movement and a rep explorer dial!
  14. Your sub dial is intended for a 5512 model with the calibre 1560. IMO it doesn't need refinishing, just leave it as is. I would be glad to buy it from you if you don't use it Regards

  16. Fantastic post Freddy, very informative Thanks.
  17. I see lots of redials... Sad.
  18. And I was quoted 1000euros last week... That sucks.
  19. From what I understood here, you file the case not the dial. I'd be curious to see pictures of such a mod, having the same project myself. Cheers
  20. And this is the soon to be collector no date certified chronometer. Heir of the 5512...
  21. You have to love the POLFY design too.
  22. Why not? Saw your post mezzanine, and I'm in for a group buy as I'm certainly not willing to pay $1450 right now...
  23. Thank you. I'm looking for a "machined ready case" and I won't mind the extra pennies since I'm looking for 99,9% accuracy. Where to find a Vietnam case, NDt ? Cheers, Bluebite
  24. Actually they're identical in dimensions (40mm). The new GMT is indeed heavier (150g) and thicker (12,1mm) It's the first rolex I've ever purchased new. Regards
  25. OK that was a really dumb question. Live and learn. Oh well.
