  1. Hi guys, Thank you for the information. So 2 questions: 1. Is there any kind of oil or lube I can use to help the links of the bracelet "fold" better? They seem to kind of bind on themselves. 2. Would a gen bracelet fit on the Noob perfectly? Thank you again, you are a wealth of info. RH
  2. Hey guys I have the legendary Noobmariner, and I was looking to replace the band on it. I want something higher quality than what comes with it, because to me the band is the one thing on the watch that feels really fake (does that make sense?) I was looking on ebay. I should be searching for "rolex band 20mm" or something, right? Does anyone have any suggestions? ie, http://cgi.ebay.com/20MM-STEEL-RIVET-OYSTE...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Mens-Oyster-SS-Watch-B...1QQcmdZViewItem etc?
  3. Hi guys I was wondering about some things. Why do the rep makers not make more accurate watches? I'm very new to all of this, but I don't understand why sometimes they'll go 99% of the way but not that extra one percent. Ie, the Noobmariner. It's a terrific replica. But.. The pearl on the bezel is horrible, the CGs are shaped wrong, and the band has the sharp edges. Yes, these are easily fixable, but why not just do it at the factory, have the best product, and sell the more of them than anyone else (why would anyone buy a different factory's replica if one factory really has the top notch rep?) Just curious
  4. Hi there! So here are some photos of my TrustyTime submariner. It is this model: link Opinions: I like this watch a lot. It really is beautiful. It feels great. It looks excellent, and I've been receiving a lot of complements on it. A superior at work has a legit seadweller, and this looks every bit as good as his. The movement looks very nice, and all the details on the watch are very crisp and gorgeous. (Can you tell I really like it?) Complaints: 1. The cyclops is a little misaligned 2. The band has "sharp" links, which don't feel very excellent on the skin 3. This morning the date was stuck between the 3rd and 4th, I pulled the crown out to change the date and got it to flick over to today. 4. As we all know, the pearl is anemic Questions: 1. Is this the same case as the Noobmariner? 2. Can the aftermarket bezel (the black thing with numbers and the pearl) fit in this? Caveat: I am not a photographer! Thank you for reading!
  5. Hey guys, Was looking for some advice on taking care of my watch. Ie, maybe good types of polish for the crystal and band. And maybe some lube for the band to help the links of it fold more elegantly Thank you for any advice
  6. Actually it may be that one. I think its from Watchmasters. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=70196 (the bond 5508)
  7. Hrmm.. I'm paying $465 for somse "limited edition" bond sub.. Am I getting screwed?
  8. Thanks guys, got it fixed. Looks great, will post picture soon (I want to find out what exactly I have, so I know what parts will fit) By the way, I went to a random watch/jewelry repair shop, and when I asked about getting my crystal aligned properly he declined the work because he said he wouldn't want to risk messing up a Rolex. I smiled
  9. Hey guys! So.. I was resizing my bracelet. It was my first time, and I was resizing the part where the band fits into the folding clasp part (where there are eight holes on the long metal piece to fine-tune the position of the band within the folding clasp.) I compressed the pin and I guess I did it wrong and the pin would not uncompress afterwards (ie, it stayed collapsed in.) So now I can't wear the watch, because the band wont stay secure in the folding clasp. I have a bunch of watch band pins but the "heads", or the point parts that collapse into the pin are wayyy too long and won't work (the pins I have are intended to connect the band to the case, which is not my problem at all). Do you think this is something a jeweler would have in stock, or otherwise be able to make work? Or does anyone have one of these they could overnight I can paypal you or something. I'm sick inside! Thank you RH
  10. Hey guys! Just received my black submariner from Trusty. It's absolutely gorgeous. Transaction was very smooth, Andrew answered every email within hours. He shipped it out immediately, everything was great. I have no complaints. The watch is great, only two small things. The first is, as we all know, the pearl is pretty lame. The other is that the cyclops is not aligned properly. It seems if I rotated it a bit it would look perfect. Is rotating it easy or should I find a jeweler to disassemble the watch to rotate it (so that I don't break my brand new baby.) Thank you RH
  11. I had a 10g saltwater, let it run for many months, slowly added things like they said (a crab after a couple of months, then a clownfish.) Got to two clownfish, came home one day and my $3 crab ate both of my $24 clownfish. I said screw this
  12. Just wanted to note I'm loving EuroTimez too. Been doing some emails with him, he is incredibly fast, and has my watch coming to me. What REALLY impresses me about him is his quality control! By the way, I've only been dealing with him in email, what's his website URL?
  13. I think since you are buying an item, you should be picky as hell in terms of quality control. I dont think it's ok to be picky in terms of accuracy. I think of it as I'm buying a decently expensive (anything over $100) watch and nothing should come broken or in bad shape. I wouldn't take a $35 radioshack watch if it were broken, so there's no reason to take a $300 replica if it has some weird cosmetic flaw (ie, your second hand)
  14. Well I've ordered the very nice, very expensive submariner from trustytimes, so I'm waiting on that to come in. I've been anxious to see the quality of other watches, so today I went into china town (NYC), and went to the watch vendors. They have the rolex's for $35-$40. Complete pieces of junk. I talked to a watch vendor on the street and he said he gets them for $30. I ended up buying a yachmaster. Put it on, got home, it fell off my wrist (lol). The pin that connects the band to the case came out, and there's a piece missing on my clasp that holds the band on or whatever. It's a totaly piece of junk, but to be honest it looks pretty dang good. I'm excited to see how nice the "nice" submariner from trusty will look, considering these pieces of junk actually look pretty decent. Incidentally they seem to be cracking down on all the bootleg goods in NYC. An entire street, close to Canal St, had all it's vendors closed by city order due to copyright infringement (have pictures, will post also.) Also, a last question. The vendors could publicly show their fake Omegas (which looked really nice), but they had to hide their rolexs. Also they were selling the rolexs for $20-$25 cheaper than the fake omegas. Why do you think this was?
