  1. Thanks The Zigmeister very good and informed info. This will certainly factor into my decision. We've spoken in the past regarding my Explorer II problem (missing spring), Andrew sent replacement new one works perfectly...for now. thanks again
  2. In my experience the Subs are the same, they were all purchased through Andrew. My brother has an LV ETA, I have a black sub, they appear identical as far as quality of bracelet, sapphire cyrstal etc. My brother also has a yachtmaster, which he paid ETA but mistakingly was sent asian, also good quality no noticible differences. Andrew made up for the mistake of course.
  3. I have a quick question for The Zigmeister which sort of relates to this topic. I am in the market for a Breitling Navitimer which has the newest 7750 movement. From what I've read in your teardown, it seems more reliable than previous version, particuliary if seconds are at 9. Anyway what is your feeling on sending this for service immediatley on receipt, vs. waiting and seeing how long it lasts. This of course factors into the overall cost of having this watch. $300 for the rep then another $200 for servicing. This is the reason I haven't pulled the trigger on one yet. Your advice is appreciated. Thanks
  4. I usually try and go for ETA, but sometimes certain models only come in Asian. I have an Explorer II that's ETA, don't believe asian is offered, and a Sub in Asian. The Asian works perfectly and power reserve lasts pretty long, not quite as long as ETA though. So Far I have had good luck with the asian movements I do have.
  5. I just got mine yesterday from Joshua. It also has a closed back, heavy stainless steel bracelet and sapphire crystal. Looks and runs real good. I have some pics up in the gallery. Good luck with it.
  6. This one has screw out links, sort of like rolex except there is a small center pin between each link, kind of like omega. Real easy just had to remove four of them. Sorry about the BIG pics. I need to learn how to size them better.
  7. Ok good points, it is all about the watches, but what about the thought that most dealers have the same stock, well maybe at least for the most part? Or is that just nieve on my part?
  8. I have been indulging in this hobby/habit for a few months now and to my surprise I think I've gotten a dozen or so watches. Not all for me mind you, some of my family members have also caught this virus and have either ordered through me or themselves, so I include them. I have delt with three dealers mainly, well four if I count my brothers recent order. I have had all positive experiences with all of the dealers thus far, and even when something was not "right", it was corrected to my satisfaction. But now as I consider future buying I sometimes find myself leaning towards maybe just one or two dealers. I was pondering what other board members, particularly more experienced ones, find themselves doing with their buying habits. Do you favor just one dealer? Do you like the "thrill" of trying something new? Do you feel some dealers are better for certain brands? Lucky's Sub's for example I realize all the dealer's handle themselves differently, have different styles, ways of communication or lack of, and certainly please us with their wares. I really didn't want to name names, as I didn't want this to become a praise or more importantly a bashing in any way, as that wouldn't be fair and everyone's experiences are not the same. So just for giggles what do you all think?
  9. I'm really liking this watch a lot more than I thought. It's huge and heavy and probably too big for my puny wrist. So here are some real quick pics as promised, after a quick sizing which entailed removing half of the bracelet.
  10. Which one did you get from him? He as several some with sub dials at 3,6,9 and one with subs at 6,9,12
  11. Thanks Ethan, Should I look for one with seconds at nine? Josh has one like that, i assume other dealer do also, not sure if the gen is like that, perhaps at six??
  12. I would really like to get a Navitimer, but have been leary of the 7750 movement, any advice of what ot consider or look for?
  13. Hey Ahchard good to see ya here, I just found this board, went right to the VC area, and there you were. Still love my watch, one of the nicest I have, but with all the reps it's hard to wear them all at once
