Well one way or another we will find him - IF we have to. I have no doubt that more than a couple of people could contact him on our behalf - but let's not get ahead of ourselves... For now - what say ye on the question of a take-over of the Loony Bin? It is the natural place for us!

Well if he doesn't we will figure out how to contact him - reach out to mods on all the forums... SOMEONE has got to know how to reach him. But regardless, he looked after us last time, I don't think he will just let the forum die (yet).

Don't worry man - we don't have to find solutions today. It is saturday in the real world and it will take JB a while to realize what happened. I have a couple of comments and suggestions: 1) We be patient 2) We have Greg and Alpha who know a lot about forums/hosting/etc... we will let them lead when the time comes. 3) We don't have to find answers today 4) Let's give it a few days - and in the meantime if anyone can think of how to contact JB - post it here. In the meantime, we will hope that he will realize what has happened and either fix the problem and/or come find us. 5) Alpha has a good point about living in one thread - so I am going to suggest we use the forum at large for reading/posting about watches - but the "Loony Bin" for our own threads - and that could even be watch threads for pics of our watches - so that we know WE will see them (they could get lost in the larger forum with all the specific watch forums. I also suggest we use RWG1: xxxxxxxx xxx xxxxxxx as our title format in the Loony Bin so that we know which are "our" threads... If we are all more or less in agreement on point 5. I will edit my first post and my sig line with a link to the Loony Bin with explanation that that is where the RWG1 crowd can be found - though we should keep this thread alive for late arrivals... Sound ok?

Me too! There are a lot of things to say - about how to get RWG back up / what the problem might be / etc... but first I just want to say I have jameo's address and will let him know what's up. I also used to have Dem's blog bookmarked but it looks like I erased it... I am hoping JB will show up here sooner or later - and let us know what is up... in that case whatever the problem, we can find a solution. I seem to recall that there is somebody here on RWG.cc who knows his real identity - and he might be able to give JB a shout for us. One way or another we will figure this out - and if we have to we will somehow get the database, buy the url, and get it up again. I don't know a thing about this stuff - but I know where there is a will there is a way! It is really good to see all you people here - I hadn't realized how much friendship I have with all you guys until the last 24 hours... Alpha and Oscar and McCloud and Omni and Sconehead and everyone else - GREAT TO SEE YOU!

Raining today - so nothing. Yesterday I finished repairing the brickwork where it will intersect the new roof. The three days before that I was pulling slate tile off another roof - a neighbor is replacing his roof and was going to toss the old slate - so I took it down for him and got to keep it - to replace the breakage from my own roof and for the additions that will require additional material... Tomorrow I am going to Leon to pick grapes for another neighbor. We will return in the evening and on Sunday we will press the grapes. If the weather is good Monday, I will start putting up the "nervo-metal" on the roof... I will put up picks of that. Wow, an old timer!

You can do the virtual equivalent of fart, burp, scratch your nut sac, smack your buddies up side the head with a foot long hot dog, whatever, and sometimes there is a little spat, once in a blue moon a real fight, but most of the time, just farts and burps, and nobody makes you feel (like the) immature (tardo you are). Admin, do you have any way of contacting Johnnyboy or do you at least know if he has an account here that he is likely to log into when he finds out the site is down? I am hoping that even if there is a severe problem that we can find a more permanent solution. RWG1 has its place and I would hate to see it lost like this. It is a piece of rep history from what I have read. Just a couple of days ago I found TTK's very first "open for business" post there - from 2004! These things are fun to read - for those of us who didn't live that era. Anyway, thanks for posting in our thread. I love RWG.cc too - and though I contribute financially here, RWG1 still feels like "home" to me. JohnG

GUYS!!!! I am so happy you are all here! Greg, I think it will all get worked out (again). We had a bad one back in June or around there and it was down for a few weeks. But Dems said that an anonymous donor paid up the hosting fees through January of 09 so I don't think that is it. I suspect JB has an account here and can communicate with us at some point - do any of the mods here know - TT? Can you communicate with JB? Does he have a way to log in here? Anyway, I expect it will all be ironed out but we should get serious about pitching in to save the place. I really like it there and I would be very sad to see it go (not to mention lonely). By the way, Spanish pizzas are so-so but better than no pizza at all.

Nah, I don't think there is ill will here towards RWG1. That stuff was all a long time ago and nobody takes RWG1 seriously anyways - it is the Animal House of the rep forums. Just a fun place. I know it is paid up till the end of the year - so it must be a technical problem. I imagine JB will talk to Blade and it will be up again. But I would like to seriously see about having him turn over the reigns to someone else. I would be willing to pony up some bucks for it to survive. And it won't take much of anyone's time - it runs by itself right now anyway. If it were on good software and a better server, it would be relatively problem free (I think - really don't know about this stuff). going to pick up the pizza now - back in 30
