  1. The lume on mine is pretty bad. If I hold it under a light for one minute and take a pic in pitch darkness it looks like a torch for 10 seconds and is then dim from there on. My hands are the white ones but the lume shows up as blue. The indexes show up as white. I would be careful about the phantom and the B & R models with the blue hands or indexes. I have read several reviews where the owners had buyers remorse. The dark hands and indexes on the dark dial make it difficult to read. I would go for the white hands. steve
  2. Here is a link to a actual pic of my watch.A Bell & Ross 42mm Chrono with two subdials. You can buy a 3 dial version for the 42mm but it is not offered on the Gen Bell and Ross. I feel the 46mm is far to big for me. I also have the rubber strap and it looks nice but is not as comfortable as the Nylon (on order). http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc327/s.../Picture102.jpg I recommend the quartz models with Sapphire Crystal. I paid $ 223 delivered with EMS shipping. I ordered the Nylon but was sent the Rubber so the Dealer is sending me the Nylon regular airmail.
  3. I am pretty sure the movement from Dealer (Josh) that was inside the original watch is an Asian Clone (copy) movement and not a real ETA movement. I suggest you not spend the $ 138 plus shipping for the ETA movement when you can buy the watch new with EMS shipping for $230. After having bad luck with Asian automatics I have gone completely quartz. There are two Bell and Ross Chrono quartz that I recommend. They have a 42mm and a 46mm. I also would recommend the Nylon strap or leather verses the Rubber. I find the rubber to hard and uncomfortable. Here is a link to the picture of my watch on Rubber. I paid $ 223 including EMS 5 day shipping from the day I ordered till delivery. In the pics the date is changling due to it being midnight when I took the picture. The movment is a Swiss Rhonda quartz and it has a saphire crystal. They sell a 3 chrono also for botht he 42mm and 46mm but I found it to be to busy looking. Oh yes. I had 46mm BR01 with auto movment and it died a year after owning it (movement). Steve http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc327/s.../Picture102.jpg
  4. You can leave the Chrono running continuously. The large second hand will keep on ticking that was or if you choose you can stop the chrno and reset it to Noon and only one small chrono will work shoing seconds. (this is witht he 3 subdials). I like seeing the large seconds moving as it assures me the watch is working. I had a few automatics that were stopping on me and I was late for several appointments. All my Non Rep automatics work fine (Seiko, Orient etc). IT appears that only one of my my reps autos is trouble free (Rolex with real swiss movement). I also rotate my watches and don't have a watch winder. The quartz saves me from constantly resetting the time. ALl my friends know I am cheap and never would buy a Real Rolex anyway.
  5. I just ordered a Bell and Ross BR 03 QUARTZ chrono on nylon. I did this as I wanted the reliability of quartz but wanted the same case /saphire glass/ strap as the more. I don't have to worry as much about the movement stopping etc as I would with the asian movements. Each to their own. peace, Steve
  6. I would be wary of the 7750 chronos 21 K beat and 28 K as I have had many problems and continue to read of others having problems. I like the quartz even if it is a non chrono as it works and is reliable. If you have a quartz chrono and don't use the chrono it is hard to see the ticking of the quartz on the little subdial. I perfer to leave the chrono running myself. My reps don't have to be exact. All I ask is they are well built and reliable.
  7. After 5 years in this game here is the best bang for the buck. Buy a rep that has the SAM case and strap/bracelet as the 7750 version but has the quartx movement inside and usually minera crystal for 1/3 to 1/2 price and get the shipping included. I have delt with www.watcheden.com and got the Oris Carlos Coste for $ 118 delivered . I am about to order the Graham Chronofighter in quartz for a bit more. The guy has $ 20 off coupon on the fron page. Don't pay $ 35 EMS for a $ 100 Rep. IF you don't like this Dealer do the same with others. Make sure the Rep has the same case and Strap as the 7750 and then go quartz. Best thing I can pass on to you. Steve
  8. I have a phsudo Rhula from him and it works as stated. He used to be a great bargain but now he is overpriced. The acrilic plastic he uses on the watches scratches easily more so than Mineral Crystal. He did state it was Acrilic in his ad so I blame myself. I have seen a similar Rhula on Ebay for less than 1/2 his price in quartz. I got it and it is a better value. IT is advertised as Royal Swiss from a seller in Germany. Steve
  9. He is a Cousin of mine. I never knew it till I was at a family gathering this past summer. There was a Cousine of mine there and he showed me the family tree. My Dad sort of looks like him. I think I will watch "COOL HAND LUKE" tonight to honor him. Steve
  10. I purchased this watch from www.watcheden.com for $ 118 delivered in 9 days to USA. They are a dealer on another Replica Forum who is on probation (new). I have had luck with asian automatics so I chose to try quartz. The watch i got has the same case and strap as the more expensive 7750 model. The difference is there is no engraved serial #on the side of the case, the crystal is mineral crystal not saphire and the dial is different. The face is the same as an actual Oris that is 42mm so it is not a accurate Rep in that way but there is no cosmetic or any flaw that a I could find ( I looked hard). My goal was to get a Operating Rep with no problems so I didn't have to send the watch back to China. (get it right the first time). I got my wish. The weight is 162 grams or 5 3/4 ounces. The lume is only on the hands and pearl and it is not that bright. There is no lume on the indexes. The watch keeps perfect time and the chrono is running perfectly. I did some research on the movement in this Rep. It is a Miyota or Citizen japanese os10 or os20. The battery life is 3 years. IF the second hand does not line up to 12 noon when i reset I can reprogram it with the built in software. Simply pull the crown all the way out, and then press the top chro button and press again whent eh second hand hits 12 noon, then push the stem or crown in and it is reprogramed. No taking the watch apart. The Minera crystal has a blueish timt and I think it is a antireflection feature. This is my first review and some links to two pics. http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc327/s...an/DSCN0106.jpg http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc327/s...an/DSCN0108.jpg Take Care, Steve
  11. I just got the Quartz Oris Carlos Coste from www.watcheden.com. Beautiful and eveything works. Paid $ 118 delivered from China in 9 days. I will now buy the Graham Chronofighter quartz. Sincerely, Steve
  12. This is a good advertisement for Zales. They fixed your spingbar problem at NO CHARGE (you were desperate and no other stores were open). TheyDO NOT CHARGE you for replacing batteries if you have a quartz type watch.( I am guessing you pay for the actual battery ). Seiko is a great brand and is far more reliable than REPS. The Saleslady was polite and meant well. With more exposure to the watch world she will learn more. Sounds like great service to me. GO ZALES ! Steve
  13. I have my fingers crossed. One more feature of the Miyota is that you can easily set the second hand to line up with the 12 oclock postion. All you have to do is pull out the stem and then press in the top chrono button and the second hand rotates and you let go of it when it hits 12 noon. you then push in the stem and it is lined up. The directions are on the link that I posted above. If the Oris Carlos Coste looks decent I will order the Graham Chronofighter for $ 138 shipped. I am trying not to get my hopes up due to poor QC in the past.
  14. Here is a link to the the japanese movement that is put into the Quartz replicas. It is made by Citizen . The movement you get depends on configuration of the subdials. There are not additional gears added to the movement like the 7750 movement. The Oris is a OS 10 and the Graham is a OS 21. The batteries are 3 year batteries and if the movement dies simply order another movement. All you have to do is remove the hands and stem. swap the movement etc. This is why I chose to go quartz. No more sending the watch back and forth to China at $ 30 a pop. Steve http://www.citizen.co.jp/miyota_mvt/catalog/n12.html
  15. Post some pics and let us know where you ordered it. Or post a link to the dealers ad. Steve
  16. I was told that there are a few factories making the graham Chronofigher in different versions. The DIVER version is a separate company. I had this watch ..beautiful except the watch had no power reserve and the emblem fell off the back case in the first 5 minutes (so much for the Dealer checking out the watch prior to shipping it..ha ha) Another factory makes the Graham OVERLORD (21 K beat) and then another the Chronofighters with 28K beat you see all over the Dealer pages. After several movement problems and no QA from Dealers who claim to do them I went for a quartz from a dealer on probation on another forum. I have NOT gotton the watch yet. www.watcheden.com I cheaped out and went for price. He has a $20 coupon code on the front page of his web site and free 14 day shipping (closer to 18 days from the time you order to the time you see the watch in your hands..hee hee) . The Quartz versions for the most part have mineral crystal instead of saphire but not all. I feel this Dealer is honest in his descriptions. Several other dealers say the same quartz watch has saphire. WHO IS CORRECT ? I opted to order only a model that has the same case and strap/ bracelet as the more expensive 7750 version. The Oris Coste had lot of QA problems etc ..do a search on all the Replica Forums and search under Oris. I like the design but wanted to cut my chances of getting a DOA watch. I can see the Oris has the Chrono dials close together unlike the automatic movement but I don't really care. The Graham Quartz has the same issue but it is FAR LESS noticeable. I will take pics of the Oris when I get it and write a review. If I like it I will order more as it is 1/2 price of the 7750 versions etc. I felt $118 shipped was a good gamble vs $ 300 ( I felt the $ 30 EMS is to much). I think the quartz option is a good alternative for me. I have had to many automatic movements die. Many will disagree. You have to be on the end of poor QA out of the box to understand my mindset. Steve
  17. All of the Oris is made of Steel including the 7750 models. They say titanium but it isn't. Some other reps of differnt brands do make titianium but I am not sure how much titianium ? The Oris watch is on the heavy side.
  18. The Dealers who are now carry this type of rep are filling a nitch in the marketplace. People like me have had too many problems with automatics and are about to exit the hobby. This gives us a reliable movement not to mention 1/2 the price of the 7750 or asian equivelent 2824 etc. My only gripe is the Mineral crystal. The case/strap/bracelet are the same as the 7750 model. It is like General Motors offering a Chevrolet vs the Cadilac. General motors would prefer you buy the Cadilac but are willing to make less by selling many more Chevrolets for less profit. I also like the shipping included in the price. From the day I ordered it will take 15 days Registered mail by speedpost tracking. The EMS price ofr 3-5 day shipping is $ 30 and I know Silix says he is about to raise his EMS shipping again. I think it is worth waiting 7 to 10 days more to save on the shipping. This way I can buy the Oris Quartz Coste AND the Graham quartz Chronofighter for about the same cost as ONE of the 7750 movements. Eash to their own. Steve
  19. I agree the spacing of the chronos is to close on the quartz but I know what I am getting and it should be reliable. I have had 7750 and the asian automatic of the top quality reps and still problems of the watch stopping. My quartz theory is a way to be done with movementment problems for good and save $ also. The only bad thing is some (most ) of the reps that I am gettign will have mioneral crystal instead of Saphire. The Factories that make Graham for instance use the same case and strap but replace the mopvement and crystal and cut the price in 1/2. If you are patient and can wair 20 days from the day you order you can get the free chipping ($ 30 savings ). The spacing problem depends on the watch. The Oris quartz Coste does have the close spacing on the subdials but the Graham Chronofighter looks the same to me as the automatic. IF the ticking hand is the small chrono it will not be obivous it is quartz unless you run the Chrono.
  20. I and another guy on another Forum had no power reserve on the movement Graham Diver. I would suggest looking at the quartz movement (same case, strap but with mineral crystal for $ 140 delivered from several dealers). Two dealers say theirs have Saphire crystal but I think they are mistaken. You can't get the diver in quartz. IT was beaturful watch. too bad the movement was faulty. If they make the DIver in quartz with the saphire crystal I will go for it. You can't tell it is quartz since the ticking dial is one of the samller chronos. IF the Chrono is not running. I ended up get my $ back on the faulty Graham (7750) and went for a quartz Oris Coste diver on it way from china for $ 118 delivered. I will post a review when I get it> Go Quartz !
  21. I had the Diver and it was beautiful but the movement was not working. I now see that Chronofighter (non diver) comes in a quartz model (same case and strap but with quartz and mineral crystal for 1/2 the price). The prices vary but I have seen it delivered for 14 day shipping included for $ 140.
  22. The owner of the site has two sites. He has lower prices on the Watch Eden $ 20 coupon code on the front web page to watch Eden. The Mods said he is Ok but still on probation. He and the Watchstation" are the only ones selling decnt reps in quartz. many have saphire crystal and the same case / strap as the 7750 for 1/2 or even 1/3 the price. depens on model. I will post a review of the transaction on 18 days or so. steve
  23. I ordered mine from www.watcheden.com. They are a new dealer on probation at another watch collecting forum. I have nto recived the watch. I expect it in about 15 days from now (to get the free shipping). I want to wear it for 5 days and then write a review with pic. Steve
  24. You are right. The newer model I went for does have the 3 subdials closer together thatn normal. The older style is is not as apparent as there are two subdials and a day/date. Good observation. I am going for reliability and price vs being a accurate copy. I don't even care if it is a fantasy version.
  25. I took the pluge or "one for the team". I ordered a Qyuartz Oris Costa. Same case and strap as the 7750 model but I got the quartz and mineral crystal version for $ 118 delivered. I feel it is worth the risk. They are now selling 3 quartz versions of the Coste. The 1st is similar tot he one you see in the 7750. I noticed the Day of week never lines up with the date etc and doesn't look right. I went for the model with just the date (less parts to fail). I will post a review of the watch etc. To get the cheap price I have to wait about 15 days from today for the watch but I have so many watches it really doesn't matter and I don't want to spend $ 30 for shipping a $ 100 watch. I just hope it is not DOA. They also sell the Graham Chronofighter (not diver) whcih has the same case /strap and the 7750 model $ 300 but it is about $ 48 delivered to your door with tracking # etc. I can get both watches for about the price of one 7750 and the reliability should be better. The only bad thing is the mineral crystal. I really like the Saphire .
