  1. I have the U1 with Swiss movement. I was hearing about a lot of problems witht he cheaper movment so went with the Swiss movement. I am sure it is made in China and is not a Real swiss ETA but it works well. Smooth seconds also and keeps Ok time. Easy to adjust if you are picky. Mine is on the fast side so i will wait a few months to see if it settles down. the quality is superb. I normally don't like rubber straps but this one is the best I have ever seen and is the most comfortable watch to wear. You need to be carful in sizing the strap as there are no microadjustments and take into consideration you wrists may swell in the summer or you gain weights so I suggest cutting the stap to be to big and slowly shortening it over time. You cna't make the strap bigger once you cut it to short! The prices have come down. I got mine for $ 198 delivered to the USA from www.asian7750.com and the transaction went well with the dealer doing a look over the watch and setting the time and date..winding the watch and checking back the next day to see it was accurate time (also to see if it had power reserve). This dealer is near the factory and can return it get another if it fails verses have the factory drop ship you a lemon. The Factories hire BLIND QC or incompetant people. steve
  2. The bracelts will be available by the end of the year according to a reputable dealer. you can also buy the bracelet aftwards for guys who got the rubber strap version. steve
  3. I am also wondering how relible are the 21J movements. I spoke to Both Josh (Pc clones) and Andrew (trusty) and they both say that they have NEW ETA movements and not Asian Clones or Rebuilt or rejected Swiss ETA. I basically don't know who to belive. I do know it is Very hard to get New ETA movements. I will start looking at some other dealers offerings. Steve
  4. Check out www.watcheden.com Look at the Graham Chronodiver quartz, Oris Coste Decoste Quartz, Tag Heur Tigerwoods etc. many more. Reliable movement.
  5. lug width is 21mm. i own the V3 Asian clone. Steve
  6. The Swiss ETA and Asian Clone ETA both have saphire and 28 K beats per minute. The $ 130 Asian clone 21J is mineral crystal no matter what the Dealer says. It still is a nice watch for the $. I just got the Asian Clone ETA and it is nice. There is a problem with the bracelets breaking at the clasp . I removed mine while the dealer sends me out a new one. I put the watch on a Maratac 20mm nylon two piece Zulu (very heavy duty and professional) until the new clasp arrives. one flaw I found was the printing on the side of the watch when you remove the Steel bracelet and put on the nylon strap. The engraving that says "stainless steel" is printed at a slant (not level). I am not a nitpicker but felt I had to bring it up. I am more concerned about the watch functioning and not falling apart. I may keep this watch for special occations as it is so nice. I love showing my rich brother in law my reps. He has many expensive reps and is impressed with a few of my reps for the $. If you travel and your rep gets broken or ripped off you are not out $ 4000 or more. Due to the large watch head it feels top heavy even on the metal bracelet. I think Rolex should have made a 24mm straight (non tapering) bracelet rather thatn the 21mm tappering bracelet. It looks sort of wierd but still nice. I like the watch and hope they improve the clasp reliability. Steve
  7. I have been seeing an increase in these Deep Sea Clasp requests on two other forums which is not a good sign. Is this the Version 2 or 3 clasp?. I have a Version 3 on the way. Steve
  8. I think the Swiss ETA and Asian ETA clone have Sapphire and the 21 J has Mineral crystal ( $ 130 ). However, I have heard conflicting reports from guys saying the 21 J is offered in both Sapphire and Mineral Crystal ? I went for the Asian ETA and expect it in the next few days.
  9. I will wait till jacky gets back from Vacation and I am back from my Job traveling. He said he would be back by Fed 15th. I am not sure if he has a return policy like Watch Eden does. If I get a dead watch I am willing to send it back but don't want the same one back. In t he past I sent back a dead time peice back and forth to China and the shipping was getting big. Steve
  10. I am in the same boat. Not sure which one to order. Watch eden has a extra promotion. You get the regular $ 20 coupon plus another $ 20 coupon if you cna be patient. They have a holiday and the watch will not ship till Fed 2nd. The 21j costs $ 148 minus the $ 40 in coupons it will cost you $ 108 delivered (up to 14 days to USA) to your house. The only negative is the the crystal is mineral on the 21J and the movement is a a bit choppy but should be as reliable as the Asian ETA clone. I would get the Swiss ETA but have ordered and paid for it int he past and had a dead watch in a few weeks. I then take the back off the watch and find it is the Asian Clone. Guys take off their back cases and take pics for the internet and I can see I got ripped off. I don't have any trust anymore. Steve
  11. http://www.timetechtalk.com/view_forum.php?id=32 This is the site.
  12. There is a quartz version as well. You can bget the watches deeply dicounted on another watch forum. I think I book marked it on my work computer. Steve
  13. There is a quartz version for about $ 130 (I can't recall) from www.watcheden.com It is quartz with mineral crystal but has the same case and strap. I have had great luck with quartz and will not buy asian automatics. My wife said why do i get all [censored] off sending Out of box failures that never should have been shipped to me in the first place. I finally decided to stay with quartz. It reminds me of a local restaurant we would go to. The service and food were spotty and the owner/manager didn't really care as he was the only guy in the local area. Well down the street two nice places opened up and they are packed and his place is now dead. What comes around goes around. He claims his former customers will come back once they try the new place and the newness wears off. Not true.
  14. One of the guys listed under straps below called www.panatime.com sells tubes and screws on his website. He even offeres a 10 % discount to memebers of this forum. The tubes and screws are for 24mm watches and I am not sure if they are the same size. You may want to ask the guy. I think he charges $ 10 for the tube and two screws. Steve http://www.panatime.com/24pvdbltuwis.html the screws have a flathead vs the hex but they may fit. Ask the owner of the site. Don't forget the 10 % off. He is listed under straps part of this forum. Steve
  15. I had the V1 but returned it due to no power reserve ( 3 minutes and it stopped). The Dealer claimed he personally checked it prior to shipping but I don't belive him (i belive most dealers drop ship due to the high failure rate of out of box failures). Also the emblem on the back fell off in 2 minutes of wear. The wobley lever can be caused by 3 things. 1) Poor QC ..never should have left the factory 2) the crown is not pushed out enought causing the the lever to no be stable. The problems is if you pull out the crown to much you lose the watertightness. 3) the lever wobbles from side to side. This is due to the lever not being seating in tight enough. I fixed this easily. Take a needle nose plyers and cover the tips so you don't scratch the watch. Gently squeeze and recheck the lever. Less squeezing is better. You can always increase the pressure but you can't undue a locked lever (too tight). You want the lever to move smoothly but not woble or be to tight. I honestly liked this watch . IT really looks like a Gen watch and is a great topic start at a bar etc. I am not happy about the movement stopping in 3 minutes of use (no power reserve). The deal that I had with the Dealer was that he does QC on the watch. QC means looks for obvious flaws and he sets the time and winds the watch and checks back in 24 hours to see if the watch is still running and it is the correct time. IT took a lot of arm twisting to get my $ back and his cronies (fans on another forum) always back him up). I honestly think the Dealer has several identities. If anyone has problems with this guy a few other always back him up very quickly. I think the Dealer has mulitiple screen names and rotates them. Then when he needs somone to back him up her changes screen names with a keystrock to attack the person questioning him. Just my theory. Steve. I stilll like the watch and may get it from a USA Dealer who is know is honest. More $ but It is worth it to me.
  16. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=85819 This is my B & R. saphire saphire crystal is also nice. Not perfect but worth the $ 225 delivered EMS to me. Steve
  17. mine has poor lume. I can live with it as the I like the watch. I ahve the 42mm quartz chrono pvd on nylon. The case is a bit thicker but I don't care. I am looking for a reliable quality looking watch. Steve
  18. I was unhappy with the Rep Nylon Bell & Ross strap. I combined the back webbing from the Rep strap with the Maratac 24mm black two piece strap. This strap will fit a person with wrists up to 8 1/2 inches and has professional build. The Rep strap is a toy. I sent a copy of this post to panatime (strap reseller) and Gasbones ( Strap maker in the military for a few more months). I suggested they make a similar strap for guy who want a Bell & Ross strap that is well made but not as expensive as the Gen at $ 120. IT was not that easy to make this strap and I would rather buy it ready made. http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc327/s...an/DSCN0146.jpg http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc327/s...an/DSCN0147.jpg http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc327/s...an/DSCN0152.jpg http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc327/s...an/DSCN0149.jpg http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc327/s...an/DSCN0141.jpg http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc327/s...an/DSCN0142.jpg
  19. I purchased the 42mm version you are interested in from Trusty time like you show in the link. I ordered that exact watch but it was sent with the rubber strap . It is funny that the rubber strap on that model is not even offered on his site. I love the watch but I don't like the stap. (That is why I didn't order it in the 1st place). It is rubber but is sort of hard. It sure looks nice. I have 7 5/8 inch wrists and the watch fits on the 2nd to last or the last hole depending if my wrists are swollen. In the summer months I have sound my wrists are 8 inches and 7 3/4 in the winter. I feel the Nylon will be a better more comfortable fit for me. The Dealer sent out the nylon strap and gave me tracking # but It could take up to a month (Not EMS like the watch) from the date he sent it (I hope not). I will take pics with the Nylon strap when I get it . The tracking on the cheaper Email tells you when the package was sent and no other info. It is not like EMS tracking where you can trace the shipment the entire trip. I have no negative feelings with the Dealer. I just wish I got the watch with the strap I ordered the first time. His web site says they check all orders to make sure the watch works and is the right one prior to shipping. I am not sure I belive the statement. Steve http://i524.photobucket.com/albums/cc327/s.../Picture102.jpg
  20. I wore it to a local bar and it really started up a lot of conversations. It is comfortable and the strap is perfect. My problem was movement that had no power reserve ( 3 minutes). Other than that it is beatiful watch. Steve
  21. Here is a link to the Genuine Bell & Ross website. They have a forum like ours also. the catalogue is helpful as it shows which watches are currently in production. For instance the 3 sub chrono is only available for the 46mm and the 2 sub chrono is available only for the 42mm. You can also see how the Rep chronos ride higher on the face(my watch up a few posts) vs the genuine that is dead center on the dial. http://forum.bellross.com/ (Forum like ours but for Gen and prices are $ 5000 ! ) http://www.bellross.com/ (enterance to the offical Bell and Ross Website) look under catalogue http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=178814 (Forum of General watches 46mm on wrists to see size) You can see the 46mm is HUGE on most folks wrists. I would strondly suggest the 42mm and the quartz model chrono. The rubber is not that comfortable. It is rubber but to hard. The best rubber strap is the Graham and I am spoiled. Steve
  22. I had the V1 steel but had to return it for a faulty movement. Other than that that Rep was as close as you will ever get to gen. I can see this newer model is even better. I would love to see the faces on the manuafacturers of the Gen Graham when they see this one. I bet they will say : "WOW> Perhaps we should have this factory make our watches for us to save $" Steve
  23. I have the same watch but in 42mm. The movement is accurate, reliable and precise. There are no automatic chronos for Reps that I know of. Even if there were I would buy the quartz. I would also do search on here and on other forums of the 46mm and 42mm being on wrists of similar sized folks. The watch looks much larger than than the specs. The 42mm wears like a 46mm and the 46mm looks like a 50mm. It is due to the square shape. THe 46mm looks like you are wearing a clock. I usually wear my Graham Chronofighter 46 mm and both watches cover similar area due to the square shape of the Bell & Ross. Find pics n the internet. Steve
