  1. I have be plagued with automatic movement problems and am now considering a Quartz version with Mineral Crystal as an inexpensive reliable alternative. Some of the higher end Reps makers are now offering a Quartz version with the the same case and bracelet/ strap as the higher end but replacing the automovement with a quartz movement and sometimes replacing the saphire glass with a mineral crystal and making the rep 1/2 price. If I choose the 14 day shipping it is free. The Reps in question are the Oris Coste and the Graham Chronofighter. I don't care if the second hand is not smooth moving like on a 28 K beat watch. I want it to be reliable and I like the fact I don't have to wind it. ANy comments ?
  2. I had to return one due to the fact the watch was not holding more than 5 minutes reserve power when set down on a table after being fully wound. Beautiful watch and got great comments on it for the 5 minutes I wore it. I have a 7 3/4 inch wrist and it fit fine ( I also like it a bit loose) . I don't recommend the rubber strap if you have over a 8 inch wrist. The other problems was the emblem on the back falling off in less than 2 minutes. I applied epoxy and it is good as new . I also fixed the loose lever that rattled like cheap hollow endlinks. The fix is a gentle squeeze with needle nose pliers that have a rubber pad between them to prevent scratches etc. I might try out this seller sine he not only handpicks the watches but he tests them a bit prior to shipping. The Dealer who I got mine from Hont Watch said he does not Drop ship but I still got a lemon. It took a lot of arm twisting to get my $ back and I really don't watn to send a watch back to China several times to get a watch that works. I saw that several Dealers sell a different version Chrofighting (not as pretty) in a quartz version for far less and it might be a good alterantive to the full blown model for reliability but it has a Minera crystal lense. Same for the Oris Coste watch.
  3. On all three of the Relica Watch Boards I see the QA control complaints over and over. I have also experienced the same and have now gon GEN. I wanted a Bretiling but could not afford it. I found that the Engineer who designed the Breitling went to Swiss Army. I purchased the Swiss Army Dive Master 500 on Metal Bracelet. Incredicle quality for udner $ 300 delivered from MANy dealers any day of the week. It is quartz and I am Happy. You can see the actual watch at Nordstoms or Macy stores and then purchase at a On line Dealer etc for 1/2 the store price and still get a 3 year warranty. Sorry for the ranting. I just have had it with qualtiy control of Reps from Factories and Dealers. I still read the boards to keep up to date with the latest etc.
  4. The Quality is not there. . Lume poor, hands falling off, Indexes falling off etc. IT doesn't matter the Rep make etc. I will never buy from a Dealer who drops shiops. To send it back to China etc is #0 each way. The Dealers should go over each watch prior to accepting the watch from the factory. Sad fact. The Owner of the Factory will see that 50 % of his watches are rejected and will make inprovements. If you get drop shipped you are at the mercy of poor qualtiy of the factory. The dealer does not deserve the profit. You might as well oder direct from the factory and cut out the Dealer.
  5. I love mine. I got two more compliments today. 25 secs a day fast. Better fast than slow. I suggest the manufacturers consider quartz for a movement. I knwo there are a lot of snobs out there but quartz is more accutate and reliable from my experience.
  6. I am positive. If the metal band or strap is very wide makes the watch appear not to be the huige watch that it is. Also the weight is better ditributed if you have a wide strap or bracelet.
  7. Once the watch is on a metal bracelt it will not be top heavy. I have a ORis on Rubber and also on Bracelet. You don't nitice the aditional weight that much and the watch is ballaced with the metal bracelet. Great Review. I did see taht one owner had problems with his watch but SIlix swaped the watch for a working one (no hassle). This gives me faith in dealing with Silix in the future.
  8. I'll try the method you stated to upload pics. After reading the other owners review on another Rep forum I have to admit that my Day wheel is slightly off. Nothing terrible but it should perfect. It clicks possitively . I had a IWG that had the same problem but was worse. I had to send it back and pay shipping both ways . !! The Dealer who I got it from is the same. The deal with this guy is he gives you a one year warranty but you pay the shipping both ways. My IWG died a 2 weeks later. To the guys credit he fixed it. The problem is the watch costs $ 300 with initial shipping and I ended up paying $ 60 more. I wish these dealers would NOT DROP ship and test the watches. I would be willing to pay a premium. I also wish the Dealers would put pressure on the factories to test the stuff out themselves. This way the bad watch would never leave the place.
  9. There are 3 other Replica Watch forums and there are posts from the owner plus pics. Not sure if I am allowed to post links so I won't. Pretty postive reviews. My only decision now is if I want to get the Bracelet for the the watch. The price of the watch is about $ 300 including shipping. Not cheap but I feel I got my $ worth.
  10. You guys kept pestering me to post pics so I did. Unfortuately they were not of the watch I have. I do have pics but I do not know how to upload them. They are from a digital camera I inherited and the files are 250 kbs. I am trying to cut down the resolution to get the pics under the limit this forum has for attachments. The watch is still working.Got some compliments from friends etc I have a few thoughts. First. The movement is the OLDEr 21,000 7750 asian. Why not put the newer model in? Is it that much more $ ? I would consider a quartz movement if it was decent qualtiy so that I would have no worries about it dying on me. I have had two 7750 go bad so far. One out of the box (replaced by dealer..qualtiy control ??) and another after 3 months. Why not have these movements lubricated etc. What is the point of putting in a movement that I am worried about going bad? Fot this reason I purchased the Bell and ROss 42 inch square watch chrono with quartz movement. $ 178 from many deals. ALways accurate time.
  11. http://www.dhgate.com/search.do?dkp=1&...&catalog=20
  12. http://www.dhgate.com/ is the auction site. There are two dealers other thatn SIlix selling this watch. Price is simialr. Like I said...If I didn't have past good experience with one of the Dealers I never would have considered it (I'm chicken")
  13. I will try to figure out how to use my phone camera and post some pics. So far the watch is pretty accurate. Bezel is tight and lines up with the 12 noon perfectly. Quality is great. Date/Day wheel nice and postive clicking and lines up straight ! Heavy but comfortable watch. I already got comments theis morning at my sones little league about it. IT looks rugged and non nonsense. Stay tuned. I goud there are many more dealers selling the Reps than the dealers on all thge Replica Forums. I personally would stick to the ones on this forum. The guys I got it from was a guy who I delt with before that fixed a problem . Same price as Silix on the watch. A chinese auction site.
  14. Oris Carlos Coste Limited Edition -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I got the watch and it is super. No qualtiy control problems for a day. Only had it 6 hours but I am impressed so far. I got it from a Dealer on a Chinese Auction site. There are two dealer who I have dealt with and they are Ok. I would rate Silix in a higher catagory but i Know one Dealer well and he had fixed a problem on a prior purchase so I knew he was cool to deal with. I think I paid under $ 300 for the watch delivered and you have a choice of delivery carriers. If I run into problems I will post.
  15. For $ 40 plus shipping I highly recommend a store in teh usa called " Barre Vermont Army Naby Store" I have a pair of 55mm " pilot glasses (forked spatual airpeice and color is pewter". Best, clearest glasses I have ever had. They go for up to $90 elseware. The manufacter is the same and the glasses the same as the militry issue ones. The case is cool also. I have had mine for 4 years and am rough with them. They also sell the new style Wiley style ones you see the groud troops with in Iraq.
  16. The reason the watch does not look huge is due to the large WIDE band. I ahve the Invicta Scooby which is a copy of the TT1 Diver. The watch part look small due to the wide beefy bracelet. The watch is 44mm but look like it is 40 mm due to the bracelet.
  17. If the watch on Rubber strap weighs 250 grams then the bracelet will add at least 100 to 150 grams. That means at least 300 grams for entire watch on bracelet in stainless steel. I bet it will be 350 grams. I have a Invicta Scuba which is a copy of the TTI. The bracelet is huge and adds significant weight to the watch but it EVENLY BALENCES out the weight so the watch feels comfortable. It is also interesting the watch has the older asian 7750 low beat 21,000 movement. I thought most places sell the high beat 28800 movement.
  18. Please post the weight of the Rep your guys got. My guess is it is at least 200 grams and most likely 250 grams. I plan on getting this watch when the bracelet version comes out. I will also be reading the reviews to see if there are any quality control issues. I am not a nit picker if the Crown is not exact as the gen etc. What [censored] me off is when my watch dies soon after I get it or the indexes fall off or the hands fall off.
  19. I have the same watch with the limtied edition. I am cureaous what your wrist size is. I have a 7 1/2 inch wrist and the Rubber strap is only comfortable on the last hole on the strap . How does the nylone strap feel compared to the Rubber? I think the Rubber strap is to short .
  20. I find I have to use the ast hole or end to last hole on the Rubber baand. It appears to be aone inch shorter than all my other divers. ANyone have the Nylone strap and can comment if it fits fine oro is a bit on the short side. I have average size writsts and have never had a watch set to the last or second to last hole in a rubber leather strap.
  21. I got the watch a few hours ago. It is the Bell and Ross PVD White hands with Rubber stap. The Rubber strap is well made but is too small. I had to use the last hole in the rubber strap to get it to fit and it still is a bit snug. I used the two included tools to remove the rubber stap and install my MARATEC Nylon two piece 24mm strap. Perfect fit. I wish the rubber strap that came with the watch was longer as it looked nicer looking than the Maratec. The watch uses a Asian 28,800 beat per minute movement and I have not had the watch long enough to comment on its accuracy. However, to change the time and date the mechanism inside is not as precise as my other watches. If you try to change the time you might change the date and vice versa. So far 2 hours later it seem to be working. The watch looks and feel just the orignial to me except it says "limited edition" on the dial. I am more concerned witht he watch being reliable and not falling appart. n hindsight I think this rubber strap may be a perfect fit for the 26mm watch as it would not be sucha tight fit (extra 3 mm). The maratec fits perfect and is comfortable. Steve
  22. Mine should be diverd to my home today. My only concern is the movement. I really would like a quartz movement for reliability and the fact you don't have to wind it if you don't wear it everyday. Most of the Replica Automatics I have gotton are either not very accurate or may stop on their own. I am crossing my fingers.
  23. I saw some lume shots on another Replica Forum. It appears this model (white hands on white indexes is fine). The Blue hands and Orange hands model has little if any lume. I hope to get my watch (same one as in this review) in the next 3-5 days. It was just mailed to me on Monday. I am pretty objective with my reviews even with the excitement of a new watch. So far the only rep that is still working and in great shape is the $ 180 Rolex sub. The Planet Ocean 45mm lost its indexes "fell off the face" and the Breitling steelfish ETA movemenn stops on it own occasionaly and then starts so you are never really confident of the time. I suggest using Quartz movements if possible as they are reliable. If this watch proves to be reliable I will buy more reps. If not I will have to refrain from more watch purposes. Steve
