  1. Basically you are using something grippy to hold the watch and caseback so you can unscrew it. It should unscrew with a ball of tape sticky side out.
  2. Preview for you guys! Critiques please?!?!
  3. The Ferrari 14 is real CF, here is a shot of mine.
  4. LOL, Jaykeem thought this was the original packaging for the crown this whole time. I'll count the teeth on my gen 005J as well when I get home but I'm sure it's the same as Jaykeem's gen 000H
  5. Nicely done. What's wrong with the case and band?
  6. Looks very nice, what CG do you have on it?

    T - crowns

So where does the line start, count me in!
  8. Very nice, awesome story CBR. I thought about going to the GTG as well but had too many honeydos to leave without getting in trouble.
  9. I use a high speed bench polishing lathe.
  10. Glad you guys liked it, I thought they were great photos for a 10 year old! Good enough that the 1st one could easily be in a brochure IMO. Obviously had some bad ones as well but he got "lucky" with these.
  11. V in all fairness, I don't know how they looked out of the wrapper. When I got them, they were basically raw pieces completely unfinished and they did have nicks, deep grooves, sharp edges. Nothing negative, they were just unfinished as you stated. To be perfectly honest, these are absolutely amazing CGs, the quality of the steel used is impressive to say the least. I think it's harder than 316L stainless. So to respond to your post V, yes... they did not look like they had been tumbed through a dryer full of screws and bolts. BTW, V you deserve a lot of credit for making these. I'm sure they were a lot of work so don't take my pre-condition comments to be a dig on you. They are what they are and anybody with some time on their hands can end up with beautiful CGs.
  12. V is a member on this forum. He had these CGs made using a gen CG as a model and they are gen accurate. Unfortunately, they are not finished and basically raw chunks of metal. Not sure if there are any left but you could try contacting him.
  13. My son took these pics while I was driving home from my office today and thought I would share. The flat 6 is a beautiful watch! I absolutely love it, it's comfortable, waterproof (once greased and tested), has a nice double deployant, beautiful day/date wheel fonts, and the quality of the rubber strap is excellent. The best reason to pick one up...... they just reduced the price on these!!! How could you not have one in your box?
  14. Jaykeem asked me to do the finishing work on some of his V CGs. When I got them they looked like they had come straight off the CNC machine with no finishing work at all! Deep grooves everywhere, super sharp edges, dings, contour irregularities, etc. Plus, Jaykeem had tried to fit one of them to a case with not so good results. Because these things were originally $200/each and probably can't be replaced at any cost I wanted to make sure I didn't screw them up. I am a bit of a perfectionist as well so I took my time and all told, I probably spent 5+ hours on these. Yes, I'm nuts but I had a great time! Anyways... on to the pics. The watch on the left is Jaykeem's beautifully modded 201a on Ted Su strap which I also refinished. I polished the CG pin per Jaykeem's request on the CG that is mounted on the empty case.
  15. The withdrawal symptoms are starting to set in. I'm busting out in a cold sweat and starting to get the shakes..... even working on some watches didn't seem to help. Where is the casino, where is the... I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed my RG back! OK, for now I will pretend this little thread is RG.
  16. I saw Dtan888's white SA the other day and was thinking that it looked like a creamy pearl color. Here is a shot of his watch, I know photos are always different based on lighting conditions but this is about what it looked like indoors and out in the sun.
  17. Funny thing about rehaut engraving is everytime I see a Rollie with it, I can't help but think it's a rep.
  18. From what I heard, they used a gray gen for the Skyland and a blue gen for the Super Avenger.
  19. Here is a shot of my black with gen rubber, Dtan888s blue, and czarczar's gray Skyland, IMO the gray dial wears bigger. The gray dial isn't as sharp of a contrast as the black so the dial and rehaut appear to be one piece that is flatter and wider like a wok. The black dial is a stark contrast to the light SS so the dial looks smaller and the rehaut appears deeper like you're looking down a hole with the dial at the bottom. Weird but true.
  20. Great news, glad to hear you got them!
  21. TJGlade posted an excellent tutorial on the subject so I don't want to step on his toes. Just thought I would post my version of proper watch testing. I'll start with my BCE so watch and learn boys. First of all, get your hands on a Bergeon 5555 like mine that has a max testing pressure of 6 ATMs. Then forget about all that nonsense and go straight to "the test". Find yourself a crazy 7 year old. Strap your watch onto their ankle ... and start testing! Once confident that your watch won't implode under the intense pressure and vigorous thrashing generated by a hyperactive 7 year old.... put it on and enjoy! You can even lay on the bottom of the pool and blow bubbles like me.
  22. No it was a good time a few months ago when I bought a buttload @ $128.
  23. The collectors advise that you put "fashion accessory" in their return instructions. I have done this several times without issue.
