  1. I like THIS ONE. If you can believe the pictures, it has a nice bezel and dial.
  2. Sorry... I meant to post this earlier. http://www.watchc.com/product_info.php?products_id=3667
  3. I found the "SSD Lite" with another dealer, but it's probably just another cartel site.
  4. Maybe it's my old eyes... but the pearl on the new Lite SSD is only slightly worse than the one on the SSD rep. Neither of them match the gen exactly. Lite SSD SSDv2 ETA Gen 16600 Also I reckon there's a difference in the cut/depth of the bezel "teeth" on the two reps. But that might just be the angle of the pics.
  5. I've been thinking of getting one (from Josh -not Andrew) and doing the WM insert mod. http://www.watchmaterial.com/viewitem.asp?idProduct=358 I'm an absolute noob when it comes to this sort of work. What is involved in removing the insert from the bezel?
  6. Got this SMP from R2u a couple of weeks ago. Great value for money, fast service. Watch is as advertised. I've been wearing it as my work watch and it's fine.
  7. But the crown guards!!!
  8. Oh yeah! The Australian dollar has plummeted against the $US in the past three months!!! A rep which would have cost $A220 in mid-July, costs about $A100 more today. Not good at all. Won't be purchasing anything for a while.
  9. If I was going to be picky, I'd say the "4" and the "0" are not quite right. But who is going to notice? Great price!
  10. Great! This could be EXACTLY what I have been looking for. So far I have held back on getting an SSDV2 because of the bezel insert/ bezel height issues. Are you saying that the bezel insert you got sits lower in the bezel? How does the pearl compare to the one originally on the rep?
  11. I have three SMP Bond reps. One from Silix (which looks like the one you have) and two "bargain" Bonds. The hair dryer method didn't really work with the Silix rep. It took waaay too much heat to soften the glue and I ended up scratching the bezel insert while trying to move it. One of the "bargain" Bonds was very easy to work with using the hair dryer. The other "bargain" Bond has a bezel insert that will not budge! Luck of the draw.
  12. Have a look at post #7 mate. Google can be your friend. No need for the "baby" promises.
  13. Nice bezel insert, but still not authentic. Check out the "4" and the "0" compared to a gen.
  14. I believe there's a 2537.80 rep.... don't know how good it is.
  15. From what I can tell, Omega has released at least four "007" watches. Models: 2226.80 2537.80 2907.50 AND this new one...
  16. I've seen a few pics of Seamasters where thew Super Luminova seems to have taken a brownish tint. Not sure if this degrades the brightness.
  17. Of course I mean how long, not "do long". Anyway... I was wondering how the lume on a 5yo Omega would compare to a new watch. Has anyone here owned a gen for for that long? Will there be any noticeable fade in that time?
  18. Easier said than done, mate! You see I need an SMP Bond!!! I've been looking on timezone, watchuseek and e@ay. I was sooo close to pulling the trigger on a Euromariner, but I've dumped the idea. With these latest tweaks, it's an excellent product out of the box. But it's not the watch I REALLY want. It's looking more and more like a large chunk of my hard earned will NOT be going into the Chinese economy. Ironic, isn't it? Maybe irrational too... Just because a tuned-in dealer starts selling an outstanding version of a watch I don't want, I feel more tempted to buy the GEN of one I do. It's bloody hard waiting for something that may never appear.
  19. I suspect a lot of pre-owned Sub reps are going to come up for sale in the near future. If Chris can organise this sort of effort for a better Submariner, why can someone put together an authentic Seamaster rep? The demand is certainly there...
  20. I recently had the same question. One of the Rollie experts explained that certain old model Subs had the lugholes. If I remember right, those versions haven't been made for about 5 years. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
