FYI, Euromariner and Noobmariner use same Noob bracelet and Noob dial. It is documented all over the place... Here is a pic of the 2008 Euromariner Is that "fat" enough for you?:

I purchased a pearl bezel insert off of another member of this forum (along with a bezel) but I don't remember him telling me where he originally sourced it. The insert was thin and flimsy if that helps anyone. I think he said it was a WatchMaterial insert but I want to mare sure before I go telling everyone that this is what is on my rep. Any vets want to guess at where this pearl came from? Thanks!

The WatchMaterial Pearl is closest to gen (better than Ofrei). You have to buy the bezel insert, then take then pearl out of it and place it into your current bezel. This might be a good time for you to consider having the bezel shaved so the the crystal sits higher (as per gen) and produces the "lip" on the bezel. Here is my SSD V2 with the WM pearl:

Man, that sucks! Hope you have a speedy recovery The Zigmeister!!! -
Nice illustration..I totally see what you mean...hmmm...I am going to AD tomorrow to clear my head and get a 3D look at them on the gen. Pics tell only 80% of the story.

Yeah! Lets see some pics of the Daytonas!!!

Pearl came from a guy off of this forum. It was like $5.00. I would try the epoxy mod. If you don't like the results then you can always remove the original pearl and get a WM pearl online. As for the bracelet, you might not notice but the watch is very dirty. Here is what I did: Soak bracelet in vegetable oil (not olive) for 1 hr Work each link back and forth to remove any grime in between links (there will be a considerable amount) Take some dish soap and an old toothbrush and lightly scrub the bracelet down..rinse Rub dry for like 20-30 min so that you are working the excess oil out of the bracelet (Optional) Take a green 3M scrub pad, wet it, and lightly rub it down the length of the bracelet. Be very careful not to let the scrub pad go over the side of the bracelet and scratch the polished ends. Wipe with a clean damp cloth Apply (name your product here) polish (some people swear by Mother's wheel polish), I use Brasso Work the polish in with a toothbrush and let dry Remove polish with soft cloth and a clean toothbrush (as to get into all the nooks and crannies) Repeat a few times (the polishing bit) Rub with clean soft cloth for as long as you want to soften up the entire bracelet You will notice a HUGE difference in the way it feels. Users here use the word "silky" to describe the feeling. Don't be afraid to get scratches on it. It is "THE" tool watch. It looks great with a little character added to it! ENJOY YOUR PIMPIN' WATCH!!!

Quick question... Can't anyone jump on a forum, right-click a pic and select "copy link location", and then embed that link in another forum? When users from the first forum check on the origin of the pics, they would point back to the user (photobucket tag) that they were stolen from. I am not sure who did what but I do know it would be very easy to frame someone. Just my .02

SA-WEET! Great looking watch. I still just sit there and look at mine all the time. The first thing I did with mine was to drop it in a glass full of water. Next I lubed the bracelet, scraped off the pearl with my finger nail and affixed an aftermarket one. Last night I sanded down the CG's and with the exception on the bezel insert..she is finished! If you do not plan on changing the pearl in the very near future, go ahead and pull it off and re-glue it. It was scary how easy the original one came off. Come to think of it, try that epoxy pearl mod on your pearl. I gave the pearl off the SSD to a buddy of mine and we did the epoxy thing to it and it came out freakishly good! http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=15226 here is a pic of mine before the CG's (but after the pearl) for comparison:

I used to play alot CS a lot when CS:Source came out. People were always talking about hitboxes being more accurate in 1.5 but Steam really worked their butts off making the game accurate and fair (maps too). As of today, I think the only reason to play 1.5 is either A. b/c you are set in your ways or B. your dinosaur PC can't run the graphics (which anyone nowadays can run at 100+ FPS). I guess I just like the eye candy on Source a lot better. Plus there is the light saturation effect now. Played a little BF2142 and TF2 also but got bored after a few months Just to see what was up, I downloaded Crysis and COD4 about three weeks ago. Man graphics blow away HL2!!! I have a fairly old PC (Q6600, 4GB PC-800, 8800 GTS 640 MB graphics card) but I still got playable frame rates. I think I am over paying $500.00 for graphics cards and $800.00 for CPUs just so that I can play a $60 video game. I guess I just liked the modding aspect. Now I have reps to play with and I go out and get laid a whole lot more...LOL

Never mind...you ARE talking about the same tutorial...my bad

WOW!!! That looks amazing. I still have a little ways to go...Can you direct me to Gio's tutorial? I have been using the other one mentioned on this thread already and it does not show such sharp edges. As for the pearl, I lost it tonight but it turned up and I glued it in place already. It is aftermarket and looks a million times better than what came on it. Thanks for the feedback!

I have been playing CS since 1.6. Look for P-Daddy. As for my name, it was my frosh year of college and that is what the mail server suggested after I had unsuccessfully entered various combinations of my first and last name.

I'm a newbie (and caught in the glare of watches)

WM9 has a very good reputation here and it is debated that they produce the finest Sub replica available. I think that you will be pleased with your purchase. -
This is my first solo attempt at trimming CG's. It seems that my buddy that was over at my house a few days ago is far better at this than I am. Do I keep going or stop? Also any input on shape/angle would be greatly appreciated.

Will do..I just have a hard time believing the factories can't see this as an easy revenue stream. Case could be a little tricky to get right at first but, hell...I could do the dial on my home pc. Who do we go to on this forum who can bend the ear(s) of the people that make the decisions to rep or not to rep?
-
I hope I am not the only person out there that thinks that Doxa is just as esteemed as Rolex and Omega when it comes to making some of the world's finest diving watches. They have an outstanding pedigree. Jacques Cousteau wore one for Christ's sake!!! Why have the factories not recognized this and made a rep? Is the case too difficult to manufacture? Are they not expensive enough? I know of some Tags that are repped that have an MSRP under $800.00! Is this brand just not well recognized? I would gladly pay $300.00 - 400.00 for a quality genuine Swiss ETA movement model. Are there any other members here that share in my desire to own a quality rep of the Sub 1000T Professional with the orange dial (or any other model)? Just my .02

I will have to wait until the next time that my friend comes over. I'll post side pics when that happens.
-
Well sonofabitch!!! We didn't realize how goofy the crown was till you pointed it out. WE WILL GET THERE!!!!
-
My buddy came over and with no knowledge of rep watches, looked at a few pics on this forum and started shaving the crown guards on the Trusty sub that I sold him. Please let us know if we should keep trimming and if we are on the right track..or if this is enough and that the CG's are complete. Thanks!

Regarding the pearl, I purchased it off of someone on one of the forums for like $5.00. I removed the old one with my finger nail and glued the new one in. 1st mod complete!
