  1. IT Director for a large non-profit, although I swear my coworkers think I'm some kind of shamen: "I did what you just did and it didn't fix it..."
  2. 1. Chopard Mille Miglia GTXL Chrono 2007 Ltd Ed (the grey dial) 2. Porsche Flat 6 (except the PVD one) 3. Dewitt Academia Sequential 4. Breitling Seawolf Avenger (the steel cased one)
  3. I would be all over a Silverstone rep. They're easily the coolest Grahams.
  4. Best summed up by "better than the previous attempts, but still pretty bad"...
  5. Usually say thanks. If they show more interest, asking what it is, where I got it etc., I'll generally tell them exactly what it is. I get a kick out of seeing people's reactions to how good replicas are, certainly more of a kick than making them think I'm richer than I am. After all, I like reps because of the design and form, not because of any status it might imply.
  6. Size. I'm finding the regular Navi to be a bit small, even on my skinny wrists, especially as I'm quite used to my PAM111, Chopard GTXL chrono, Oris TT3 etc. which are all bigger.
  7. Yes, sounds like a string of bad luck. But it's important to remember that this hobby demands much more than collecting gens. The highs and lows are part of the draw of the whole game. Who hasn't felt the disappointment when a favorite watch stops working, or the elation of getting it back from China or the local watchsmith in fully-working condition again. Then there's the excitement of the chase - choosing your next watch, shopping for the best price, trying to grab a used one from the forums, getting beaten to the punch by a fellow forum member, waiting, waiting, waiting, choosing to buy a new one instead, then waiting some more for it to arrive before the magic moment of opening up that package.... No-one said this was easy, but as most people here would agree, that's part of what makes it fun.
  8. Grey is definitely the looker. I absolutely love mine. It has such presence and works both for dress, casual and sporty occasions.
  9. The tachymetre font looks crisper on the gen - but not exactly something that can be modded!
  10. Is this the version with the PVD coating or the "ultimate" with the DLC coating? Looks like PVD from the pics...
  11. I have the typical 7750 tricompax Navi that all the dealers carry. It's very nice, but the flaws (sunken DW, no pie-pan gradient on the subdials etc.) are enough to hold me back from being *totally* in love with it. Oh, and the rep strap sucks massively, so I replaced it with a Panatime calf-hide strap which accommodated the deployment without too much trouble. I would say that although the slide rule doesn't line up properly it is still pretty usable, especially for those quick kph to mph calculations, where you're at least within +/- 1mph. In retrospect I would have gone for a Navi World, but at the time the size of it scared me. Now I'm used to larger watches, it wouldn't be that big a deal and the Navi actually feels small to me.
  12. My experience with WBK has been excellent too. Welcome.
  13. Don't have a pic but I wore my Bond SMP for election day in honor of Joe Biden, who also wears one.
  14. Jonny's got a U-Boat Classico. What about the three blokes on the Australian version of Top Gear? This week it looked like Steve was wearing some kind of Pilot-style watch, although I find it hard to believe his paycheck is quite big enough yet for something like that considering it's his first big TV role. Perhaps a Debaufre Nav-B?
  15. Anyone know if there's any stores in San Francisco's Chinatown that sell this kind of stuff? I'd love to check it out for the fun of it...
