Movement engraving is poop. They have got to fix that - or perhaps get one from Little Hero.

More shots of the cyclops and DW please!

Did you purchase this? I would love to know if this is the same crystal is the ones from the Ultimate Panerai models 104, etc.

Great catch. I love those old Certinas!

I have my eye on this one as well. My problem is, that the A7750 never handles the Day wheel very well. I have had numerous reps with both Day and Date, and the Day wheel is always "loose and floppy". Meaning, even after changing the wheel to ETA's (to get the right font) and servicing the movement (by our esteemed friends), the Day wheel still moves around in the window. It will hang low when the watch is right side up, or tilt high when upside down. I guess that day gear is not well refined.
I had to solve this by changing to genuine ETA7750's (expensive) or selling the watch. I have to really LOVE something to put a genuine 7750 in it. I wish they would fix this.

Here's mine. I had to shave the endpieces of a modern doxa endlinks to get the modern bracelet to fit.
I have the old one stored away safely.

Heres mine... Sorry for the bad pictures.

i have two gen valjoux 7754 gmt movements.
at the moment this is my pam088 gmt project.
the maker for gmt watches use an old asia 7750 with gmt modification.
this movement is higher than the gen 7754 gmt. ( 7754 based on 7750 ).
that means, the gmt cases are built much deeper inside for the old 7750 gmt,
and so you cannot swap the gen 7754 gmt movt.
i have checked all possiblities.
the result is, i use a pam229 case ( possible also a 104 case ).
the inside measure of this case is perfect for the gen 7754 including the pam088 gmt dial.
together the measures are perfect, the stem and crown fits without problem through the case tube.
only little reworking with the 088 hand tubes.
i use then the 088 gmt caseback, and if i have luck i can use also the pam088 bezel ( still i have to check this ).
at the moment i'm waiting for the delivery of the 229 case.
cheers
rolli

Bytor,
King just added these to the site. It says "Updated dial and case"
So here are the pictures. What do you think - any better? I don't like the engraving on the rehaut - but what about the rest? Looks like the markers are still gray. Also - the date does not seem to be centered left and right.
Thanks - would love to know your opinion.

Looks great. Give us the rundown....
-
From what I understand, there is actually a V4 out that is even better.
-
I want that dial!!!!

cskent-
For a Pre-A 002, the dial is correct
There seem to be some other exceptions as well in which this dial would be acceptable in the gen world; i.e. a 6502 A prefixed case, etc.
@ubi
Did you have The Zigmeister redo/paint the dial at all? Did you go with a tritium finish?

Fantastic work. I loved the first round. Can't wait for the next!

I saw that post as well. I am hopeful for a product that finally matches some of the other super-reps that we have recieved lately. The first pictures of the dials however, were quite dissapointing. I continue to be mystified as to why the makers can not copy - what seems to be a very simple dial.
-
Well, here is my two cents.
I think that I know what you are after - but obviously we do not know your personality.
So: here is what I recommend - and these reps are good enough that you would look both sensible, young, and yet still have taste. You just have to decide what "taste" you want to portray:
1. Tag Heuer - Aquaracer - sporty diver, outgoing, enjoys his free time, active
2. Ebel 1911 Disco Chrono - sporty - racer, not necessarily "outdoors" on weekends - but always doing stuff
3. Rolex Sub - everyones got one. And, there is a reason for that. Problem is, every young guy who believes he has "arrived" gets one.
4. IWC - Slevin - sporty - but more sophisticated - the guy is more knowledgeable that one would think. Those in the know, know.
Can't go wrong with any of those. Can't be called out on any of them either. They are too good.

The minifiddy is a great case design. I love it. Given that there was no real watch with it (although there are other models that use the same designed case such as the PAM 212 (in chrono form) - I made a sterile one.

Thanks for the reply. Beautiful piece.
How is the cyclops? I have heard that it does not magnify as much as one would want.
-
DSN is a great looking watch, but neither DSN and Trusty/Josh have not gotten the cyclops and datefont right. My friend has a 104 and the datefont between my DSN (sold) to his 104 was clear as day. Every date is magnified perfectly, while DSN only had a few of the single digits that were as large. The optics in Panerai is difficult to replicate.
However I have contacted Fishgodeep about this and I will eventually try a 104 project.
This is not to say that the 104 is not a good rep. It is very nice, and has a very classic allure.
If you are getting from DSN I would suggest you make sure you ask for new parts. He has a habit of pawning of his older returned parts. And make sure you get pictures before he sends. It is worth the wait. DSn is a good communicator and overall a good seller, but you need to do your due diligence. Good luck.
What do you mean by 104 project? What is involved? Please elaborate.... I am in the middle of one myself.

Here are mine. Hope you like them.

Laz - have you written up an explaination of the HE value mod? It looks great. What did you do there?
Thanks!

The LH dial is good - but still has a problem. The PA distance in PANERAI is off. Once you see it, you can't stop looking at it.
Great 111. Where did you get that dial!
