Thank you very much - I did exactly what you said and used the screw driver in the exact spot as you said and then started prying a little. I worked around in a circle and finally the movement holder came out. That was great help! Without your instructions I would have been afraid to to that, but it went really well!
Hi - I am trying to remove the movement of my Railmaster XXL so I can access the inside of the crystal for some polishing/ AR removal.
I have taken the stem out and now I am stuck. I was expecting some movement holders with tabs but there aren't any. The movement sits rock solid in the case the way it is now. I can only see 2 small screws (silver, right next to the empty screw holes) but I thought I'd better ask before I start touching them. Any help appreciated.
I got it from Mark Wang (timeshops). It is stainless and uses the regular Speedmaster Rep case. The GMT hand is just for looks and not functional. It is the 21J auto with faux chronos.
I would recommend you take an old watch screw driver or anything similar made out of steel. Grind it down to a size just like the pin and carefully with a small hammer get the pins out. Use a piece of wood with holes as work surface to lay the watch on. A hockey puck works great too.
I have resized many UPO bracelets and found that this is the easiest and safest way to do it. And yes I too broke my removal tool at the first attempt.
Wearing my PO today. I damaged the bezel yesterday. Walked out of a shoe repair place and hit a metal water cooler with it - clunk! Couldn't see any damage at first and was all happy - but when I took this picture I noticed the damage on the outside of the bezel around the 25 mark.
Other than that it seems fine - could have been a lot worse. I'm still p*d off - this is one of my favorites.
