This is really nice with all those mods! What strap is that? watchboy's? and how did you get that brushed look on the back? Your watch is really awesome!

Is there a Portuguese Chrono with ETA on the market & if so ....
JCYL replied to kgbAgent's topic in The IWC Area
apparently the latest consensus is that the graphite treatment actually doesn't help with the sec@6 movement. -

how long have you been wearing it though? most of these portuguese die within 6 months; it's sad -
how's the quality of the steel on this one? from my noob experience, i tend to find the steel on rep watches shine quite differently than the steel on gen. this is especially obvious when you have gen and rep side by side under the light (like those for display at the AD). i wonder if it has to do with the level of polishing done or the innate quality of the steel being used.

this is a genuine carrera right? the quality of the finish seems much much better than the rep counterpart.

Review of the New 29j Daytona Movement
JCYL replied to Francisco's topic in Francisco's Reviews And Tutorials
So, for the time being, am I right in thinking that one way to prolong this movement's life is to wear it less, so that friction has a lower chance of causing damage? Since the portuguese chrono is a dress watch, I can wear it only during formal occasions instead of wearing it daily as I'm doing it now. Thanks! -
that's one beautiful strap for a rep watch! good stuff

so i got this image from josh's page: how does this known rep compare to the one i posted? its marker on the 9 o'clock position looks okay too my eyes are still not acute enough...
-
another thing is, shouldn't the hour/minute hands be silver instead of black? even with very low lighting, i think they should still show up as silver? i actually know the person who owns this very watch; to my surprise, he knows about DSN!!! i think most people who buy genuine pam wouldn't know about DSN.... and yes, he says the watch is genuine; i haven't got a chance to look at it closely yet based on how the CG pin reflects light, i have my doubt...

hmm, why? u may be right though i can't really tell

I've searched through the entire website on this watch and there are very little discussions on it, and none on its mods. For those who've purchased the rep of this MB timewalker, which of the followings do you think is the reason? 1) there's little interest in this watch among members on this forum 2) the watch is so well made that no mods are needed at all 3) the flaws cannot be corrected with currently available mod parts Thanks guys. I think I'm about to buy one. Just want some feedback from those who have bought it already.

I'm not sure; I think the lever pin looks funny (like a dimple)....maybe it's like that in the real thing?

after doing some research, i just realised that these super cars can indeed be replicated based on a toyota MR2...... it seems everything is possible..... the time will come when we can replicate our favourite actresses

not sure if it's a scam site yes, the prices advertised is low; but i could buy the same stuff in HK or Shenzhen (china) for half their prices or lower. e.g. those polo tees they have on the site can be purchased for about US$4

hey i'm from australia too! you're a dealer?

Like computers and many other things in the world, rep watches improve year after year, with people talking about different generations of some popular watch models like rolex submariner for example. Everytime I wanna buy a new watch I can't help thinking that an improved version may come out shortly. This mentality renders me unable to buy anything in the end. anyone else shares this sort of mentality? i still haven't purchased my first rep watch; maybe i'll change after having got a truly nice rep.

anybody has Both a panerai 183/111/112 and a mont blanc timewalker chrono?
JCYL replied to JCYL's topic in General Discussion
thanks! please take your time. would u mind telling me where u bought the MB timewalker? i've visited most of the trusted dealers' websites and the timewalker is generally in the mid $200 range for an asian movement. however, i've come across one dealer who's selling one with a swiss movement and is asking for $800+ for it! i don't know if it's worth it to get the swiss one, as i think the cases used are identical as i'm more concerned with the look and feel of the watch. the movement doesn't bother me as long as it's reliable. -
i obviously didn't mean finding him in the streets; what i meant was to get his contacts in HK so i can buy from him directly. i hate the hassles of sending watches back and forth as well as the potential problems with the customs.

u mean the ferrari is 100% Franken with aftermarket parts??? sorry for being a noob, does Franken mean building from scratch with genuine parts and rep parts?
