  1. Haha you wish you were old?! Believe me man, you don't wanna be wishing for that kinda thing! Age comes for us all....not that great a thing, being old....metabolism slows, weight gain, hair loss, libido wanes...haha!
  2. These days i've mellowed out and listen to just everything and anything. I even love damien rice's stuff. But i just got back into paradise lost! They still sound so amazing!
  3. Haha! I attended the metallica concert in the inddor stadium waaaay back in 92!
  4. How could i forget "The angel and the dark river" by My Dying Bride. Someone take me back to 1994/5!
  5. No longer an angry teenager (not since half a lifetime ago), but i'm still given to pulling out some angry tunes once in a while. I've always thought 1995 was a special vintage in the year of metal: 1) "Draconian Times" by Paradise Lost - Every song was perfect from start to finish 2) "The Silent Enigma" by Anathema 3) "The Principle of Evil Made Flesh" by Cradle of filth (my introduction to unpopular black metal) 4) "Subhuman Race" by Skid Row (again not a popular choice. And by then, a terminally uncool band, by i really like it) And if we were to stretch it to 94 - "awake" by Dream Theater. What an album Any other closet angry has-beens here? ;P

    1675 built

Damn. This is so gorgeous and awe-inspiring, i feel like jumping in too. And i have a gen 1675
  7. Haha Thanks J!
  8. yeah i've no idea. Maybe i should've asked around before buying it, but it was bought on a whim. I didn't actually think i would've won the auction at that price i guess. If anyone is interested in seeing shear's full reply to my enquiries (for whatever reason), just pm me and i'll forward you his reply
  9. Thanks for all the input guys. I messaged Andrew Shear. He's dead certain coz of its source. He says it was a service dial of a possible transitional dial. And that the "T Swiss T" markings were not altogether inconsistent as he had service dials of 1675s with a similar deal Dunno man. Regardless i guess i'll just use it for whichever project that floats by me, by way of providence
  10. Woe is me. Maybe i'll send it back to him
  11. i'd asked him about it coz of the smudge, but he stood behind it being 100%. And other sources have said he's a good chap so.....
  12. Damn. Just when i thought i was out of the woods... yes i just checked a rollie ref book. All the 1016 dials seem to have the COSC... matter of fact the only explorer i see in the book without any lines in the lower half, only corresponds to the explorer 6610 (1030).
  13. That's why i thought it was a knock-off.But thanks bro! I feel much better now!
  14. Not sure if you guys can still see the link but here it goes: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200644029995&ssPageName=ADME:X:eRTM:US:1123#ht_3963wt_1188 part of me was loath to load it coz i don't wanna have to deal with the disappointment and heartbreak at having been had...yet again
  15. Wow! I paid like a duke for mine!
  16. Yes LH you're absolutely right! It's too painful to snip off the feet. Besides by going down that route one can still have the gen watch if one ever decides to reverse gears
  17. Is it really the cheapest pam out there? How much are we talking?
  18. Oh man, you're so lucky! Please, please, please gimme a headsup if you ever wanna sell!
  19. Damn, i keep coming back to look at this edox moonphase...sigh
  20. Thanks guys! Freddy, i'm actually looking at the 1016 coz the 5500 dial is just too elusive. ww, my dial is a service dial (supposedly...hope i didnt get ripped off) i was hoping to just drop it into a gen so if it ever came to pass, i could just part them out again and voila, they'd be unchanged! Plus, i think such a project would be much easier to accomplish than the alternative
  21. Having read all the 1016 builds as well as 5500 builds...i've been meaning to pull a victor frankenstein myself too. However it seems insurmountable, trying to procure all the parts like UBI does I was reading how the 5500 explorer is nigh 100% the same as the 5500 airking save the dial (which is impossible to procure of course) I came upon a 1016 gen dial and was wondering if there's something similar i could do with it. From my rolex ref books, i gathered that the movement the 1016 comes with is either a 1565, 1570 or 1575. Is there an old datejust that has these similar specs? If so, it'd be a simple drop-in-dial frankie! I suspect not, coz otherwise UBI wouldn't have gone about pulling off his blockbuster build? Alas unlike him i'm a mere mortal I'm not asking for 99% similarity. I'm happy with just 65% =P
  22. lars ulrich could learn from him!
  23. Thx LHOOQ!
  24. Er can someone post the link? I can't seem to identify the watch in question
  25. Is that a rep then?
