Just read the thread on rwi. He says it was 4-5k, not 3. And don't think he's selling. He's a real daytona fanatic! If it were 3k, i'd buy it in a heartbeat. At 4-5k, i'd go with a gen 16528

I tried throwing my hat in the ring years ago with this one, but it's really a pain to get going. If i were to do it all over again, i'd just buy the gen. Maybe even a 16528

Sure thing. Ive 2 gmt2Cs tricked out with gen dials and inserts at this point. One has the chs movement too. So im onto my 3rd. Thought id try something different and include the gen bezel etc. Obssessed huh?

Actually i think chiman did install it on one of the old CHS gmt2Cs. That GMT2c was reviewed by Dtan if memory serves me right. And chi did it on the GMT2c of the same batch... Anyway i'm intending to do the same as i have said case and a gen bezel assembly/insert...I'll keep u guys posted but i'm weeks/months away from getting this done

But don't i need to rhodium plate the markers and coronet? And how bout turning the words into silver? The guy who found the dial - his had white gold/ss markers with words in gold? But the AQ one was white gold/ss all round...

I've 3! One NOS that i'm preserving for a 16803/8 That hopefully will find its way to me some day. Another that has a slight blemish but is otherwise gorgeous. And a last one that has been refinished prior to my ownership but still very pretty - unfortunately it was refinished to "1000 ft" instead. I'm considering using one of the latter 2.
