  1. yeah man thanks for the write up. i remember first coming across a ball watch ad, and wasn't too sure about getting one. after some research, and reading your post. wow. i'm sure to get one sometime.
  2. i feel you kitersoze. i remember first getting introduced to this wonderful hobby, by getting scammed by one of sites. at least, these idolreplica people are using similar marketing tactics, and their credible, instead of just another scammer.
  3. Fidestro, Great point. I was thinking more from a consumer perspective. Regarding the YouTube vids, I was thinking about the watches being displayed privately. For example, some great dealers here, give you links to their Photobucket pages, but you can only access with username and password. Do you think there's a private function for YouTube to display? I wasn't exactly thinking about showing the public at large the YouTube videos, but rather creating a private video platform to ensure the quality of their product. Examples (showing that it's really sapphire crystal, highlighting AR, turning off the lights to show the lume, video closeups of markings, rehaut, crown, caseback...etc. etc.) i just personally think that high quality videos can go a long way in terms of confirming if a dealer is really as legit as the picture shows.
  4. So I randomly wanted to do some research on some watches, and found this Youtube link to some person named SinoWatches. I did some research on this forum, and didn't really find anything new about him. See link here: http://www.youtube.com/user/sinowatches Can anyone really confirm that he's connected to any trusted dealers here? The usual suspects like Omega, Tag, Panerai, etc....I have seen better quality on RWG. But for some other brands, like Concord...I'm no expert. And those Youtube videos look kind of convincing. But then again, I don't know enough about those brands. What are your thoughts? I bring up this topic, just because, I appreciate the videos in general. Wouldn't it be cool, if some trusted dealers had YouTube videos for their products?
  5. yes, it is rehashed stuff...but the cycle keeps on getting worse and worse.
  6. So I tried logging in 10 minutes ago, but RWG's flood control was in effect. During that time, till now, I like to look at Dealer's websites like Josh and Andrew. What the hell? Is joshwatch.com down? it's not working. Also. Did you see those new PAM's Andrew is trying to sell for??? 428 USD???? That's DSN prices you're talking about. Is it me, or are the prices just going higher and higher......... I really really want to get a new watch right now. but I like to take my time with my watches i guess. My Skyland V2, has a gen black calfskin strap, i'd rather get my watch lumed by The Zigmeister than by a new watch right now...too bad i'm saving up for a laptop!!!!
  7. at least it's not as much as this Rolex I found on Joshwatch. http://www.joshwatch.com/0135b-p-5203.html jeez, $888,888? can't you buy a nice house for that? p.s. but for real, what is going on here? these prices are crazy??? i concur with earlier posts, might as well buy a gen.
  8. thanks for the heads up man. so does that mean i have to purchase another rep while i'm waiting. lol! what to do, what to do, in this wonderful world of RWG...
  9. ha nevermind. i think The Zigmeister is pretty much the class act of the group. looking forward to posting pics!
  10. So I'm pretty happy with Andrew's Avenger Skyland Grey Dial. But the lume really sucks. I replaced the SS band, with a genuine black calfskin strap which totally adds to the watch. i've done some research, and i don't think i'm experience enough, or too much of a noob to ask The Zigmeister to lume my dial. i have been going back and forth with Everest Watchworks, and right now he's my only option. any one else know of any good lumers? i'm based out of Los Angeles, California. Thanks! p.s. I'm going to try eurotimez the next go around. yes, i know i said i wanted a PAM or Seadweller, but that Chopard PVD Gran Turismo just floored me. i love that watch. suprisingly, only 100 pieces will be delivered to Chopard boutiques, and 15-25 pieces will be sent to our Beverly Hills location at around $9,000. i swear i thought that watch was going to be over $12,000.
  11. yo check out this modem burner. http://www.horomundi.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5354 it looks like the PVD is actually shiny here, and these are gens! once again, the case back, has the Speed Black 3 on the back, not the map.
  12. i checked out watchstation too, but unfortunately he doesn't have any in stock. his caseback looks pretty gen too. sheesh...it's such a beautiful watch... i saw one for like 10 grand, but there's only 1000 pieces going around.
  13. I really like Andrew's service, and the watch looks really cool, but the caseback doesn't look like the gen's i have researched. Watchstation is pretty reputable and has the gen caseback, but is no longer in stock. Paul over at PAM111 says he still has it in stock, but i'm scared of the reviews i've seen. since, then he wrote me an email saying he will do the best he can for customer service. i'm kind of stuck... TO PAUL OR NOT TO PAUL. that is the question? or should i wait out for Watchstation. or if i'm that impatient, just go ahead and pull the trigger with Andrew?
  14. The actual model on Pam111's website, has a better looking PVD, and the caseback looks like the gen. However after reading his reviews, i'm not even sure if those pictures are real? what are your thoughts? PAM111's Chopard Speed Black http://www.pam111.com/product_info.php?products_id=2506 Link to an actual gen Speed Black http://chopard.watchprosite.com/?show=nblo...433821&fi=5
  15. wow, that is freakin' awesome. i just had a great conversation about the Maurice Lacroix! good stuff man!
  16. The PVD is just too shiny to pass as a Gen. But the more i look at the reps, it's growing on me. I'm starting to really like it a lot.
  17. Hi Italiano, really nice pics! i'm new to the rep game, and just purchased a gray skyland v2. it came with an SS bracelet, but i want to switch it with a gen calfskin strap. 1. where can i get a good deal on a calfskin strap? on breitling source, he says you can find one for $125. but everywhere i search on the internet i'm finding $375. 2. how can i remove the bracelet and replace it with a strap without breaking my watch? is there a tool that i can use to get this done? thank you so much for your time. take care! reachroland
  18. So now that I've got the Avenger Skyland. And i'm currently saving for a Eurotimez Seadweller. #3 of my goal is the Panerai. I must say, of all the forums here. I really like the personalities and contributions of everone I read about in the PAM section. Right now I'm down to three finalists. PAM 112 Base PAM 292 Black Seal PAM 288 Radiomir Chrono Of the three above, based on all my research and readings, it looks like the 112 has had the most "mod" action. Right when I'm about to pull the trigger, I second guess myself, based on someone else's post...and don't know where to start...so I end up wondering if I'm just going to buy a fully modded watch in the watch section to not worry about the hassle. Any takers for a nice quality 112 for $600 usd? lol... for the 292 and the 288, i'm at a loss. I noticed that the 292's that i look at, on the dealer section, everything looks "polished" on the black cases...and i can't really find anyting with the nice black matte finish. For the 288, the pictures look all nice and dandy, but when looking at my Panerai catalog, i noticed that the reps have open clear casebacks??? what the heck? For all three finalists, however, I am excited about the strap i will use. The StrapSmith. Rob Montana. Man...those black vintage straps, and the submarine buckles are just calling for me!!!! lol. Rob Montana - Strap Smith Now if i just decided to say, what the heck, and pull the trigger for a 292 or a 288...the dealers told me they don't do any lume services. since i am obviously a noob, and haven't earned enough street cred to just PM one of the famous lume people here, are there any takers to help me out, if i decided to pick up a 292 or 288? regarding the 112, i am fully convinced, that i'm just going to bite the bullet and either bid or buy a modded watch. alright ok. thank you for you time, reachroland
  19. wow freakin wow. you are setting a standard, and really defining why this hobby is so cool. your work makes me respect this craft and interesting world of replica watches. after picking up the avenger skyland. and setting my sights on a Panerai next...i was at a loss. where do i go? what do i do? and that's what i enjoy the most about the PAM's. the simple look of a PAM, makes it that much more difficult and pressing to match the genuine. a slight miniscule error, even something so small, in another watch, would stick out like a sore thumb for the classic lines of a PAM. of all the timepieces i've been researching, the PAM seems to be a great and enticing opportunity to mod, through trial and tribulations, to perfect... i am truly glad, from this noob's perspective to be in such an interesting hobby. The Zigmeister man. Thank you for in my humble opinion, bringing credibility and standards to this trade, rather than just a place for someone looking for a cheaper alternative to the genuine watch. Take care and Best Regards! reachroland
  20. awesome post. just got my Panerai 2008 catalog a couple of days ago. i totally forgot about ordering it (about 2 weeks). i was confused when i got a package from "Officine Panerai" haha! seriously, really appreciate the history, the pictures of all the different movements...made me appreciate Panerai a whole lot more...almost made me want to save up for a gen, instead of a modded rep......... almost... i said almost.
  21. that's a really nice Hamilton. after seeing all these beautifully modded watches, i was seriously considering trading in my Gen Hamilton Khaki X-Wind for a modded rep. ha!
  22. Great thank you for the heads up. Let me tell you, I have already invest some time reading. And I anticipate reading and reading and reading again, before I make my next purchase.
