  1. Hi Victoria, As we've been PM-ing back-and-forth last week I knew what to expect, and have to say "It's just what any (business) men needs"!!! After all of your suggestions and spending too much time behind the laptop (according the lovely lady at home) I'm dying for a review of the black strapculture legend...http://www.strapculture.com/legendmp/sclg-m870.html I guess this is the more 'neutral' choice to mix with both grey and darkblue suits and still wear a powerfull strap. Who can help Victoria out to do a review on this beauty?
  2. Thanx... I send a PM to Davidsen straight away... Now I have to be patient until JPN wakes up again I guess
  3. After posting the thread asking for help on finding the perfect strap for the new 177H I'm now searching for a genuine Titanium buckle for the strap. All the sites I've been visiting offer polished or brushed SS or PVD buckles, but up till now I did not find any in TI... Who can help me out?
  4. That's the first time I see a leather NATO strap... must be quite thick around the wrist? Do you have any wrist shots? With regards to finding a the strap that matches a grey/blue suit I guess this is a bit over the hill though
  5. some more pic's with the BOB vertigo: and the shot that cannot be missed; the wrist-shot:
  6. The 177H arrived safe and sound today... As it came without a strap I used the BOB Olive Brown vertigo from the PAM090 in order to be able to wear it. It gives the watch a 'military' look. What do you think? I'll spend the weekend to make up my mind for better matching straps that better fit with a suit and will keep u posted. Thanks all for you input and kind help... By the way; is the small second hand on a 177H originally also white?
  7. yes... you sure did... I do remember passing the skulls 'n guns pic's when searching RWG for making my choice on the straps for the 177H... if you add some roses you give me a true guns 'n roses revival ;-)
  8. double wooowwwww... this is even better! Have a look at the pic's at straplegend's customer corner! http://www.strapculture.com/customercorner.html What about this one:
  9. Woowwww..... I guess my wife will kill me in the end This is my Top-X after all of these pic's. I need to rob a bank in order to fund me all of these! 1. Maxmilan's Toscana with brushed buckle 2. Slai's YARRRR MATEY strap+buckle 3. vbarret's Micah Flat Black's http://vintagerstraps.com/Flat_black/ look's like I should definitelly switch to fulltime grey suits as this is the only colour that matches the Top 1 and 2... Once the watch arrive's, I will definitately upload some pic's to show the results... just be patient, which is difficult for me as well :-(
  10. Thanks all for the PIC's... Now I understand why I really wanted the 177H ;-) Let me be a bit more specific in my request... 5 out 7 days a week I work in the office for multiple financial institutions. Or in short; Have to wear a suit! As most suits are either grey or dark-blue, watches are a great thing to make a statement. How would a black gator strap fit the 177H? Any pic's? Any other suggestions matching a suit?
  11. After all these SS watches, stutzer offered me his titanium 177H. So as we speak it's somewhere between the US and EU. Hopefully the watch will arive safe and sound... but now I need to fix the issue that the watch does not have a strap or buckle yet. Up till now my PAM's are equiped with BOB-straps (a vertigo olive + OEM buckle for the PAM090 and a tabac gator + pre-V buckle for the 231 rose-gold radiomir), but I cannot decide on a strap and buckle... Anybody any advice? I guess the vbarret approach is the way to go, but I know my wife will freak-out
  12. I own 2 21J's and both have hack-function. It's a PAM090 Powerreserve and the Cheap but Great Chopard Mille Miglia GT XL. Be warned though that the rotor of the 21J makes heavy noise when spinning it around. some try to fix this by using grease for the rotor bearing, but both The Zigmeister and my local watchsmith told me not to do so as the grease will definately spin out of the bearing at a certain point in time and thus polute the movement on areas where grease can do serious damage (!)
  13. Seems like I'm not the only one loving this new watch :cloud9:
  14. this time I've ordered the strap with my local watchsmith. Only 27,50EUR and without any shipping fees! So this proves the good-old brick-and-morter-shops can still compete ;-) Some pic's of the new Hirsch Rally strap (for which I've mounted the rep chopard deployment clasp): Good news: = you can re-use the deployment clasp the strap is 22mm and the lug-is 23mm so there is 1mm of tolerance the clasp size is 22mm and the Hirsch strap is prepared for a 20mm clasp; more tolerance
  15. My lady likes the cartiers that Angel & Jay offer through their budget-site... Ridiculously cheap! What about a cartier for no more than 33$ (!!!). She does not care about mechical movements and likes the fact she does not need to forget to reset the time each time she put it away next to the bed for a couple of days. She also liked the accuracy of minute-markers and a second-hand as she's a teacher and needs to know exactly how much time is left until the schoolbel rings ;-) http://www.watchsilix.com/product.asp?id=591 As the square case of the Tank does not suit every outfit, she requested me to order a pasha as well. Looks similar to the seatimer, but a simpler style bezel and dial (which she prefers). <a href="http://www.rwg.cc/members/se_redirect.php?url=http://www.rwg.cc/members/se_redirect.php?url=http://www.watchsilix.com/product.asp?id=1807" target="_blank"> http://www.watchsilix.com/product.asp?id=1807</a> Both watches can be ordered in male and female sizes, but my wife consistently choose the bigger sizes. and than again, the pasha is only 35mm and the tank is even less.
  16. Thanx Joe, I was just contemplating to order an additional racing strap for my GT XL and was thinking if and how to transplant the clasp... just one question on the size of your strap. Lugholes are 22mm I assume, but the width of the clasp is also 22mm. Most 22mm-straps are 20mm at the clasp end. What strap size did you use? Myself I was contemplating to order a racing strap with punch-holes from Hirsch. Would this one fit? See thread http://www.rwg.cc/members/Chopard-Mille-Mi...-XL-t40286.html for more info
  17. I went for the low-cost Chopard GT XL (only 75$ at Angel & Jay). Please read thread http://www.rwg.cc/members/Chopard-Mille-Mi...-XL-t40286.html for more info.... good luck on making your decision... in dutch we would say 'Suc-6'
  18. How about this 'crop' of one of the above pic's? As you can see it features the black datawheel, but the mag is not fully aligned (a bit to much to the left/bottom). Also it cannot be compared with the 2.5x mag of the Submariner but than again, the mag is also inclosed in the crystal rather than applied on top. The AR did surprise me (positively). I was a bit sceptical when ordering the 'mineral crystal' as some of the other minerals I own (including the PAM 090 with huge dome and the Chopard fake-chrono's) where completely disappointing. This watch can be viewed almost at 90degrees angle without too much distortion. The watch can be sourced through Silix-Prime for no more than 75$ (!!) so given the current exchange rates to the euro it's a bargain! http://www.silix-prime.com/product.asp?id=1762 The only upgrade I'm thinking of is a new strap... considering the racing leather with punch-holes from Hirsch but it's drawback is that the chopard rep deployment clasp cannot be re-used as the strap is 22to20mm instead of the 22to22mm :-( More info on this choice can be found at RWG on thread http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;#entry287229
  19. I've sourced my Chopard through Angel & Jay. Also great service and never let me down... The GMT Chrono can be found at http://www.silix-prime.com/product.asp?id=1810 for 285$ The GT XL was no more than 75$ (!!) and can be found at http://www.silix-prime.com/product.asp?id=1762 All other Chopards are featured on http://www.silix-prime.com/cat.asp?catid=125
  20. If you think it's this one, there might be an issue when re-using the CHOPARD deployant buckle... http://www.watchband.de/ The rep strap + buckle expect a 22 mm size at the buckle fix as well... or are you considering to replace the buckle at the same time? Furthermore the 3 lugholes on the gen are all same size, where the Hirsch has 3 different sizes....
  21. by the way SQL_PL.... Any tips how I can get my wife convinced she should consider a modeling career on RWG herself as well?
  22. I tend to do the same every time I order a watch for myself as well... Always get an extra Cartier for the lady at home! She's more than happy with a nice tank and pasha (just like Ola I guess) Unfortunately she wore the Tank that much that the clasp of the strap does not fix any longer. Angel & Jay just send me a new case + strap but it was a smaller size. I guess I have to order myself another favorite from the longlist... Who can help me decide? - PAM177H - Omega seamaster - TAG Carrera (Brad Pitt watch) - IWC 3717 Actually I'm still waiting for decent rep of the IWC Mark XVI because of it's simplicity but up till now no rep found yet...
  23. I have the same issue... Who knows how to fix this? Is it just missing oil? or does it need a service straigth from the dealer? To me this sounds a bit like overkill for a 75USD watch :-(
  24. looks awesome on the racing strap.... I'm considering to get one for my GT XL now as well.... Anybody knows where to get these?
