Does the watch suppose to have Lug holes?
-
I want to thank Everyone for the nice comments. This is still an ongoing project, My goal is to get the watch as close as possible without spending a fortune, I think that the next upgrade is the HE valve. I am extremely please with this piece and in no way I feel bad wearing. is my daily beater for now. Eventually I may get a case from Vietnam and maybe before I died a Gen dial and Hand . All I need now is a modern Sub 1:1 case just like the SSD Cheers.

Does the case has a working HE valve?
-
I was wondering if someone can explain the difference to me and post a Picture of both side by side. Maybe Oli can do that. He seen to be the expert on that. I think that 585 are taller so they will fit the 1665 case better, my 580 have a big gap on the 1665. Thanks
-
Thanks for the comments, all the credit goes to The Zigmeister. When The Zigmeister posted his picture here is link http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=70160&hl= it had a crappy insert, I replaced with Helen's Wong it make a whole lot difference. The pearl is not even glue it just snaps in place, 1570 movement with silver date wheel Gen Crown OEM tube Gen Crystal Gen Bracelet with 580 end links. Insert From Helen wong, snaps just like Gen one Pearl from Ofrei Regards.

Can someone tell me how to make that the pictures show bigger. Thanks

I have been collecting parts for the watch for almost a year and finally decided to send everything to The Zigmeister so he can put it together. here is the end result, I know is not the most accurate watch but I am very happy with the end result. The watch looks fantastic and in the circles that I move people only wear modern sub and they don't even know these watches existed. they are the average Rolex owner Here is the picture Your comments are welcome. It turned out pretty well cheers

Is it possible to get a case rated to 200m WR?
cib0rgman replied to old skool's topic in The Panerai Area
I disagree when people say that Rep watches are only good to use under the rain or when you watch your hands. I have a 1680 that is been at the pool so many times and is just a standard rep with a gen crystal nothing more. even more this past spring break I went to Bahamas with MY Ultimate PO I did snorkel and went down probably to 10 m that is about 30 feet. The watch was service by my watch guy, but it has no upgrades everything is standard as it came from the dealer. You will be surprise how deep can you go -
If you are in the US it could happens, the same thing happened to me and later i received a letter from customs and for Polex USA about importing fakes. Does the package show signs of tampering. Good luck

-
585 but how much are those puppies....$$$ By the way I decided to take Oli's challenge and I am committed to make my 1665 as closed as possible. searching for Gen insert 585 endlinks Gen Springbars Gen set of hands and in a near future after market case (Vietnam maybe)

I am in for this, if we can get the price right. $900 is a lot of money

Rollie SD with a few mods, what do you think? Rep? Gen?
cib0rgman replied to RWG Technical's topic in The Rolex Area
Thanks for the information. it looks like this a never ending search. I will wait until the watch is back into my hands to decide if I want to go this way, I still would like to have a Gen insert and top it off with a working HE valve. I really doubt that anyone will be able to tell the difference and by anyone I mean ordinary people not freak like we are. The amount of money spent on this baby is getting pretty close to a Gen No date submariner and it may go over if I go overboard. Regards -

WOW is all I can say really impressed with The Zigmeister's work. He does one fine job. This is the product of 7 month of hunting for the right parts at the right time. All the parts came from ebay Where else anyway. I choose to send it to The Zigmeister because there are some things that I would not be able to do. I can do crown guard and lug holes and since I need it someone to install the movement may as well do the whole thing. For those who wants to know here is the parts list Aftermarket Insert. Have a better one here at home waiting to be swapped once that baby is back into my hands Clark's hands MBW 1665 GEN 580 GEN Bracelet Aftermarket Spring bars not that I care much (if someone has some Gen for sale let me know) GEN Crystal 1570 Movement GEN Crown Aftermarket tube This project requires a fare amount of money and I could collect more part to make it more accurate. But I decided to stop here because after all at the end is still a rep, no matter how many Gen parts I installed it still will be a rep. I will be very interested on get that HE valve fixed; I will contact The Zigmeister before he sends the watch to me. -
I have a MBW 1665 from PASO and it does not come with the correct bracelet, not even close he sent a bracelet made of two different ones. The clasp and the diver extension from a moderm submariner and the rest from another that I have idea where it came from. He said they are out of stock I wish knew that before I ordered the watch
-
The big question is how much are those puppies
-
I agree with you. The least they can do is send a complete bracelet not one made of two totally different ones, not like I will use but at least I could sell it for some $$ instead of throwing it away.
-
I don't understand why they keep sending these watches with a Modern Divers extension, I have one from Paso that was a fiasco. MBW WSD with a bracelet made of two different bracelet, moderm sub divers extension part of polished sides bracelet. What a joke the only usable part is the head of the watch. So why did I paid top dollars for something that I can not even wear. Just My two cents

FM dial lume, don't get these in very often.

The Zigmeister, I have been following most of your posts and rarely post a comment, I have to say that I am very impressed with the kind of job you perform. Is an art on itself. Keep up the good work. Very impressed JOB Regards P.D I can't wait to see the results on my WSD I sent you -
Nevermind I figure it out Thanks
-
How do you order from that place
-
Thanks for the input guys, so I guess If I want to make the watch looks more like a real Rolex a Triplock will the way to go. by the way I do have a Triplock too.
-
Hello, I have a vintage Rolex crown without the dots is this one correct for a 1665 or 1680. I know that i s very hard to get a tube but maybe an after market tube from ofrei will fit the crown. Can someone give me some input in regards to use it or not. Thanks

You should file a complain with Paypal, I have purchased an insert from him last year and had no problem at all.
