As I recall, someone once wrote a tutorial on the "thump" method of regulation. If your watch is running 3 sec/min fast then 3 thumps crown up, if it's 3 seconds slow 3 thumps crown down. If that does not work drop it in a bucket of 50% water 50% kerosene for a day or 2, that'll slow that bad boy down...
Please DO NOT "THUMP" YOUR WATCH. Take it to a skilled watchmaker unless you don't care for it, if not "thump" away...
Thanks Rob,
Perhaps all the owners of the new 390 with the closed case back should at least open the case and take a peek? I personally would not know where to look but I'm sure many here do...I suppose I could alert Josh but not sure if that would do any good.
Hehe
True, but I would rather spend a few more bucks than listen to the yap yap yap...
Have not yet been able to get her to agree it would be OK to buy a rep for my girlfriend....
Rob serviced the movement, located and replaced a cracked jewel, tightened up the lever, polished the canon, polished and recessed the lever pin. He believes the factory cracked the jewel when they cut off the second wheel post and forced something out of the movement, had I not sent he thinks it would have self destructed.... Worth every penny!
Z iggy is da MAN!
I believe the fact that our reps are assembled by non skilled workers who must meet a quota is one of the main reasons to have immediate service performed on a rep you wish to keep. Rob recently serviced my new 390 fresh from Josh and found a cracked jewel which he believed would have eventually destroyed the movement. Had I decided to wear it for a few months prior to having it serviced I may have lost the watch...
LOL OK now I'm really confused...if it is a 25 jewel movement where do they put the other 32 jewels? Are they just decorative? Do they serve a purpose or do they just sprinkle them around inside the case?
Add a couple of pubic hairs and you got a rep Rado...
Came across this on eBay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VERY-RARE-57-JEWELS-RADO-GREEN-HORSE-AS1789-SWISS-MADE-DATE-AUTOMATIC-MEN-WATCH-/120869869853?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item1c2467d91d#ht_534wt_954
A 57 Jewel Rado? HUH? I'm no watchmaker but that seems like a lot of jewels. It does say 57 jewels on the dial though, misprint?
I don't think here is a "best rep", it depends on what you like.
I recently purchased a 390 from Joshua which is awesome.
I am looking at this one

Which also looks very tasty.
Be a kid in a candy store, take your time and choose what you like...
Thank you good sir. I know very little about the inner workings of a timepiece but a few years of reading this forum has taught me one very important fact.
That being, anyone who has a watch they wish to keep for an extended period of time should send it to you for service..
You da Man!!!
I picked this up on eBay for 15 bucks Poalr model A3( needed a battery) came with the chest strap and works well..Guess I could have wiped it off before I took the pic...
