  1. This beauty came in yesterday! I put her on my blue Diver strap. I love it! Thanks to everyone that posted and contributed to all the threads about this awesome version!
  2. I thought about that and may do it as a project sometime down the road!
  3. Hey everyone! It's been a while but I'm back on the boards. My '08 Skyland is finally seeing the end. It's been a good 5 year run with her. It's too bad because she still looks great! No matter what adjustments I make to the regulator, she still ends up running 5 minutes slow a day. I figure 5 years on a rep is pretty good! The bright side is that I just ordered two new watches from Andrew; banana Seawolf and a S-Avenger!
  4. I came back from a weekend trip and wanted to wear my Skyland and it was stopped. So I figured it needed some winding. I cradled it in my hand and did the recommened gentle wind and it would not work. Occasionally it would start then stop shortly after. Only by accident I realized that it runs when I engage the chrono. When I stopped the chronos it would run for 5-10 sec then quit. Seems to be running fine as long as I keep the chrono running. I have had absolutely no issues with this watch and have had it for three months now. Any ideas? Thanks!
  5. No, its a Datora so it's a 7750 with heavy mods. It has the month and day at 12:00 and the date is printed around the dial and has a hand that points to the date. No way of swapping it out with another 7750. I think the gen uses a 7751 or 7752, i'm not sure of which one. Thanks for your help as well, Toad!
  6. Thanks The Zigmeister! Not sure I should continue sinking $$ into this one. Its a shame, I really wanted to save this one! Thanks again The Zigmeister!
  7. Thanks The Zigmeister! Not sure I should continue sinking $$ into this one. Its a shame, I really wanted to save this one! Thanks again The Zigmeister!
  8. Man! And this guy was only 2 blocks away!!! So... I need to get another movement? A 21.6 and pull the balance from that one or can we make this one work some how? Thanks, The Zigmeister!
  9. I remember someone posting a reply to one of my posts that the Datora needed a slower movement and that I need to get a 7750 specifically for the Datora. Do you know anything about that?
  10. The seconds hand at 9:00 is moving 15 secs/min faster than actual time. My chrono isn't working either. I'm going to have to open it up and see what's going on beneath the first bridge.
  11. Hey guys! I got an A7750 movement and took it to the Watch Maker and he swapped out the balance for the one that I killed. This is for my Breitling Datora rep. He swapped it out and it is running. BUT, it's running like a race horse on speed! It's running 15 min fast for every hour! He put it on the machine and the heart beat and rate is perfect. Was this the wrong Balance wheel and spring? Do I have any options here? The Zigmeister?
  12. Well, I jumped into the Skyland waters as well! Just got mine from Josh yesterday. Only five days to get to the east coast US. I ordered it on the 14th and it arrived yesterday. Like all the rest, this one is beautiful! It is running perfectly and has near perfect lume dots. The 3 is just a hair off but you really have look very close to tell. The rest are perfectly on the money! For fear of reiterating what so many have already said, I end it with this: WOW!!!
  13. Alrighty then! That's what I will do. Thanks The Zigmeister!
  14. Hey Gang! I'm about to do a heart transplant on my Datora after I killed the patient. I plan on removing the Balance from a new A7750 that I have coming in. I already removed the damaged one. My question is: What do I need to know about in order to successfully accomplish this task? Are there any special tricks, pitfalls, concerns, important to do's that I need to know about? -OR- Should I skip this and take it to a Watchsmith? I appreciate any help offered to get my watch working again. Thanks!
  15. Guess I'll be doing a lot of searching and reading and searching and reading some more! "I looked into the trap!"
  16. My plan was to swap out the balance.
  17. Guess I could have gone with an ETA but already ordered a new movement.
  18. I sent Ajoesmith a message. Let's see if he's got any left. We'll make this one a work in progress! Thanks for the help! I'm determined to keep The Zigmeister out of this one. I still haven't earned the right! Besides, how much worse can I do? SZVWJ: Thanks again for your help and advice!
  19. I took it to a watchsmith local to me. He was impressed with this rep. He does not have the parts and can't get them. He said if I can get my hands on an Asian 7750 he would swap it out for me. He had an ETA 7750. I went to Canal St NYC and got a cheap rep. I'll open it up when I get home and see what it looks like. Maybe I can swap it out myself? Guess I did everything that I was NOT suppose to do. Got in over my head! I went from bad to worse. Now I have a beautiful high quality rep that has no heart beat! I killed the patient and all it had was post nasal drip!!!
  20. I made matters worse! I was on the right track, thanks to szvwj, he was very helpful. However, I damaged the Hair Spring beyond repair. So what are my options? Canal Street NYC and get a bad rep and take the assembly out of that and replace it or just get a new watch?
  21. COOL!!!! I'll give this one a try! Sounds like a plan, and my pappy always said that it's better to have a plan than to be swimming with the fishes, or something like that! Thanks!
  22. Maaaannnnn! The first time I crack it open and try to do a little exploring and adjusting, I blow myself up! =@ =@ =@
  23. Thanks! But I found this The Zigmeister quote "look at the hairspring on the balance, where the hairspring ends - this is the stud arm. You never move the stud arm as this affects the beat of the watch, and to adjust the beat, you need a watch analyzer." CRAP!!! CRAP, CRAP CRAP! I moved the stud arm! Where do I get a watch analyzer? What's a watch analyzer? Who has a watch analyzer? What is my name? Where am I? Like I said, "I'M SCREWED"!
